I might as well have stopped reading there. Our top two scorers absolutely dominated your top two scorers the last time they went head-to-head in the playoffs. Bring it on.

Typical Montreal media. Remember the s*** storm they raised about the Kostitsyns? They have some of the most painfully reactionary news outlets ever.
-
Stuart has been superbly solid this postseason. I don't take back any of my thoughts about him in the regular season, though; his positional play was sloppy and he wasn't playing nearly as well as he is now. I'm just glad he turned it on for the playoffs.

Two A's, as Babs wasn't aware Nick would be sitting out until he was already on the way to the rink.

Here's hoping this SCF rematch ends a little differently from the last :beerbuddy:

Who else sheds a tear when Mule snipes a corner?
ComradeWasabi replied to SaCkaveli20's topic in General
haha, he was definitely not happy about that one... -
I trust that you and EMALKIN over there are not on the same page. Glad to see you around, hope you don't get into any really major scuffles... no promises though..

Ryan Ellis is from a town like 20 minutes away from where I live. Was kinda rooting for the Spits for him, glad to see they won it.

Pretty sure the Hossa no-goal was the worst call of this playoff, not even talking about "the history of sports".
-
That is hilarious. Danny's reaction makes it twice as funny, too.

I feel bad for the guy; two deep playoff runs and he's gonna miss them both. If we win the Cup again it will be especially painful for him.

This Team is Too Lazy at the Beginning of Games
ComradeWasabi replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Poor starts have plagued this team since the beginning of this season. It's getting more than a little tiring. -
Anybody want to clarify the rule about dressing a third goalie for a game???
-
Keenan hasn't been good at anything in 15 years. Good riddance.
-
No kidding. They were absolutely atrocious. I dunno who was on the left point, but he and Whitney just traded it back and forth for about 30 seconds.
-
The lack of defense in this game is atrocious.
-
This game is outta control.

"Mastodonic love grab!"

what the f*** lol Canes score, 2-2...

Wow, the "Detroit Sucks" garbage persists even in professional media. Classy.
-
Good for Sid to get up after that crosscheck and score the goal. Playoff desire there.
-
Leino scored on Draper and Maltby's line more than one while he was called up earlier this year. By the way, it's KIA Forte, not Hyundai

Scott Niedermayer hat trick: 1. Skate smoothly 2. Wander around like a nomad on the powerplay 3. Elbow someone in the head Scotty Bowman hat trick: 1. Russian Five 2. Throw lines in a blender 3. Aaron ******* Ward

IMO it's Lidstrom almost without argument. Franzen could put up some competition but if you ask me Lidstrom has simply done everything in this series. He helped decisively shut down Rick Nash (alongside Z) against Columbus, he's had some clutch goals (Anaheim game 1, for example) and he has just been almost perfect in the playoffs. I say almost because nobody is perfect but I can't think of a single error Lidstrom has made in any situation. Franzen's goal-scoring has been critical, but Nick Lidstrom has been our best player through two and a half series so far. In the games against Anaheim we couldn't get ourselves going, Nick was still there. He leads all defensemen in playoff points with 12, is tied for the lead in defense goals with 3, him and Brent Seabrook share the lead in defense assists with 9, leads all defensemen in +/- with +9... he has been absolutely critical for us all playoff. Franzen's a very close second with Osgood in third and Hank in fourth, but for right now, nobody has been as outstanding as Lidstrom at both ends of the ice. The difference between him being our MVP and Franzen being our MVP has been Nick's shutdown ability along with his offensive production. Franzen is generally reliable on D, but he's nothing close to a shutdown centre like Z.

These are all pretty good.
