Which side do the wings shot on twice at the Joe?
ComradeWasabi replied to Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot)'s topic in General
I would hope so. -
Guess they finally figured out that people were pissed about that. Glad I have Cogeco.
-
I don't think so, for a few reasons: 1) No inciting incident like Lemieux's hit on Draper. 2) The Wings aren't fighters anymore. There's nobody on the roster who will duke it out with the Ducks goons anymore, which means it's pretty much a one-sided rivalry now. It's hard for a rivalry to get really heated and bloody when the power play is your enforcer. For the record, I love the Wings' style of play and I don't believe they need to change and add fighters to the roster. Just saying, a power play can't make Claude Lemieux turtle.

Giguere to challenge Hiller for job next season

Anaheim would be a great place to play in, sure. I think I'd still rather live in Canada, though. I would actually miss the snow. -

Being from the opposite end of the continent and in a different country, I just kind of assume that Anaheim is part of LA (thank you Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim). A million a year around here would let you pay for your house pretty much in cash, but I guess that's a little different in California eh? -

A million a year would probably be tight if living in Anaheim, actually. -
ahh, I forgot about Nash. Maybe if he'd scored a few goals against us I wouldn't have. Oh yeah, 82 is in there too. Maybe somebody can guess this one... hint... he's out with a broken face.....
-
I'm drawing a blank about who wore 61. Electrophile, all of those were right, and 71 is Malkin.
-
I think that's true, he's one of those random high-number scoreres. 66, 68, 87, 71, 91, 99, 40, 81... Cookie to anybody who can correctly guess which player each of those refers to, it's probably not hard.

Dan Ellis and probably now Pekka Rinne come to mind. -
Absolutely not.

By the way, the difference between Datsyuk and Joe Thornton is that Datsyuk looks like he is trying his heart out every game. Thornton certainly never had that look about him.

Which of These Players Will be the Next to Score a Goal?

If Gainey comes to his senses and realizes Price is not ready, I wouldn't count him out of Montreal. That's a big "if", though. -
Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. That said, one s***ty goal that wasn't really his fault in 12 games isn't bad.
-
I disagree. In these playoffs, he's saved our bacon more than once. Early against Columbus when we were slow out of the gate and then he was nothing less then spectacular against Anaheim. Plus we haven't seen any of his trademark regular season bad goals.

The best "insults" you've heard against the Wings
ComradeWasabi replied to Doc Holiday's topic in General
I'm from Hamilton so I feel your pain. All of the people who taunt me don't usually know a whole lot about hockey so I just do my best Bob McKenzie (or perhaps a 6'4 Darren Pang) impression and explain exactly why they're wrong and why the Red Wings should win it all, again. The dumb hockey fans are the best because they're the easiest to shut up. -
Saying he's a playmaker is making excuses for him. He had 10 goals in 22 games last playoff run, now he has one goal in what, 12? Not performing like he did last year, simple fact. PS he also had 13 assists last year and has only 3 or 4 now. Any way you slice it, he's not scoring like we're used to. Is he still a great two-way player? Absolutely. Should we panic? Absolutely not.
-
Those two should be split up, both are slumping. That said, splitting up our other two scoring lines doesn't seem to appealing so we're stuck for now.
-
Thanks as usual Matt.

If you ask me, Nick has been our best player so far with Franzen second and Ozzie third.

I will lose major respect for Chicago fans if
ComradeWasabi replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I trust that most Hawks fans will have enough class not to participate in a chant as imbecilic as that. -
I knew that, but I've never been impressed by Howard which is why I said Conks mightbe out. I wish we could retain him, as I don't foresee Howard panning out as the Red Wings goalie of the future. Mostly wishful thinking on my part, but you're correct.
