This post pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter.

Onsides and Offsides Rule - Control or No Control
ComradeWasabi replied to Rivalred's topic in General
Along with these, another onside moment is when a player drags his skate to stay onside as another forward rushes the puck into the zone. As long as both of the player's skates aren't across the blueline when the puck enters, it is onside. -
Pavel with the hat trick and an assist to come flying out of his slump. You heard it here first...

I'm not a basketball fan, but that series was ******* ridiculous. Seriously, it was just great entertainment. Also, seeing Glen Davis almost tear Doc Rivers' hand off with his low five the other day was hilarious, too.

rofl. That is awesome.

let's see if Toews swears again. Also what the hell is on his face? It looks like hair but I can't believe that's what it is.

Knife in the heart on that one I think.

I like how neither of these teams have been able to play much defense.... bodes well for us assuming we get through Anaheim.

I'd like to see Vancouver extend it tonight then Chicago beat 'em on Wednesday. That, and the Wings win tomorrow, so we might get at least some kind of extra rest.

Laich. There it is, game 7.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal
ComradeWasabi replied to JeffBridges's topic in General
I think equating Z to Stevie or Pavel to Fedorov are both gross generalizations. By the way, interesting user name... -
Sorry bud, but no. The player's cap hit remains the same for the duration of his contract; for Franzen, each of his 11 years will have identical cap hits. As far as I am aware, this cap hit is calculated by taking the total contract value and dividing it by the years, straight up. I might be wrong on that, though. So yes, when Franzen is 40, he'll still have a $4 million cap hit. However, because his last years have so little money on them, the Wings have the option to buy him out of his contract for only the remaining value of the contract, not nearly as much money. Besides that, Franzen and Z both have the option of retiring whenever they like and if that happens, their salaries are wiped off the books.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal

It's hard to judge their play right now as Zetterberg is playing better by a pretty wide margin. That said, having watched the two of them very closely over the last couple years I have to disagree with saying Hank is a better passer. Agree to disagree I guess. -
Onsides and Offsides Rule - Control or No Control

They can review an offsides play but they can't review an early whistle blown to negate a goal? -
The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal

I have no clue where you got this idea from. There is a reason that Pavel has had around 15 more assists than Hank every year since the lockout. -

Onsides. Rick Nash did this to us either this year or last year in a game. Not a big deal but he did get it into the zone. -
I love me my TSN..

ROFL can anybody tell me what Pierre McGuire just said after Thomas' save on Pitkanen? I thought he said "HELSINKIAN!!" but that doesn't make any sense.

Theeeeere's a post.

Whoa, Meech. Awesome.

I think the Wings would have an easier time against Chicago than Vancouver, if for no other reason than the Chicago flight is like what, less than a quarter of the Vancouver flight? Having two back-to-back West Coast series would not be good for the Wings' playoff longevity. Ultimately I think Detroit would have an easier time against Chicago because of their playoff experience, which Chicago (mostly) lacks. That was made fairly evident with Columbus. Between the travel, the veteran vs rookie idea and of course our selfish 7:30 start times, I want Chicago over Vancouver.
