I would love it if Osgood was refocused and could pull off a shutout here following the comments Babs has made and the media's focus on that. 4-0 Wings, Ozzy in goal.
-
Commodore is an unlikely selection Schneider won't be coming here for a few reasons, 1) we don't need any more offensive depth from our D, 2) we don't have the cap space 3) him and Babs aren't exactly pals.
-
I certainly notice the fantasy stats he puts up for me. Having Lidstrom, Rafalski and Green on D certainly gives me a big advantage.

The best part of that interview was talking about Brett Hull, saying he had a good time with Brett yelling at him because he didn't speak any English. edit: also one of my favourites was a press conference from the SCF last year, him and Hank. A reporter asked a question and Pav had to say "Haaaank" under his breath for translation help. I'm too lazy to find that video lol

Homer is NOT replaceable for someone who makes what he makes. Neither Franzen or Cleary fill his net-front role as well as he does (although I will admit that both probably have better upsides elsewhere.. ie they can shoot) but both will make more money. For what Holmstrom does, he is a steal.

I'm not going to lie, I was excited every single time they were out on the ice together. Seeing Z and Pav apart for so long has made seeing them together that much sweeter, especially knowing it's going to be on a consistent basis for the near future. They had at LEAST 3-4 grade A scoring chances that they didn't convert on today, plus the unlikely pass that turned into a goal for Pav. After their performance today I simply can't imagine Babcock splitting them tomorrow.

I think Zata would benefit from playing with Pavel consistently more than Hossa would. Having better linemates allows Z to shoulder less responsibility defensively; while the same could be said of Hossa, it's apparent that right now Hossa is doing just as well with Flip. Also, I don't believe Flip and Z have ever been put together consistently or shown any kind of chemistry together. Ultimately, it comes down to Pavel/Hank + Hossa/Flip > Pavel/Hossa + Z/???

Kopecky with the hat trick to make it 5-0 for the win.

Draper! What a pass!

why can't the NHL have a salary cap like baseball?
ComradeWasabi replied to FLWINGSFAN4013's topic in General
I didn't even know baseball HAD a salary cap (shows what I know). But when I see one pitcher in a rotation getting signed for $12 million a year, the salary cap is clearly not especially effective. -
I don't think it can be contested that their second and third goals were weak. Not plays I would expect a strong goalie to get scored on from.
-
The goals scored are the responsibility of the defence and the goaltender. If a team is allowed almost unlimited access to the area around the crease and are permitted to cycle the puck down low without much resistance, then they are more likely to score a goal than if the defence was playing strong, clearing the crease and getting the puck out of the zone.

Hey look, ANOTHER PP Goal against. That pass simply cannot be allowed through.

THE HOSS

I'd imagine the Czech-Slovak language relationship is similar to the Serbian-Bosnian one.
-
Hossa's release is just ******* lethal.
-
What he said.
-
You don't wanna see this one.
-
No blame for that goal. 4:30 of excellent penalty killing, a screen on Ozzy, on a bulls*** call to begin with.
-
Are you ******* kidding me? A MAJOR?
-
Number 39, 2 for hooking. Hey Dom, you're due in the penalty box. Oh no, we'll wait.
-
WOW. What a ******* shot.
-
Hey look, a powerplay goal against.
-
Okay. Sure.
