Attrocious PP. What happens when you put non-goal scorers on the PP?

Need Defensemen who can shoot. PP hasn't been the same since Lids Rafi and Stuart left. Holland has failed the team here. Or just get Pavel Datsyuk back. That'll help

It's early and we all know it can change REALLY quick but Franzen actually looks like he's trying. Guess that offseason workout is working.

1. Please stop with the Jimmy bashing. He's not a top 5 goalie, we all know that but our issue is and will continue to be defense. We really need two top top pair defensemen but once again Holland failed at making a deal. Oh...by the way, this will also help our offense once we replace Kindl/Lash and Quincey.

The imposed salary cap revealed how bad a GM holland really is. It's easy to get the right players when money isn't a barrier. The list of horrible signings coupled by the lack of improvement made gets longer and longer. I gave Holland this Free Agency to prove me wrong but I'm convinced a change is needed. The only argument people put up is the talent "he" finds deep in drafts. My reply is that scouts find these players, not the GM. It's a sad day when we are supposed to be excited for average Kyle Quincey. And yes....he's barely average since he contributes NOTHING offensively.

Most overused term in hockey "good puck moving defensemen." What the Wings need before we start camp: 2 smart puck moving defensemen. We had SOOOOOOO many horrible first passes by our defensemen that caused an equal amout of turnovers in the neutral zone that I literally lost count most games. Opposing teams knew this and pressured our defense and created millions of these turnovers. (See Quincey, Kindl, Lashoff and Smith) On the flip side, their inability to make that 1st pass in an accurate manner cut in half our scoring chances most nights. Consider that last point. If you can increase 5-10 more scoring chances, you essentially add an extra goal every other game. That's 41 more goals a season. This is why I don't think we need another forward. We just need TWO good puck moving defensemen. Mike Babcocks style of hockey is 100% dependent on defensemen that can move the puck, make great 1st passes and even join in the scoring by having an above average shot. Smith Big E and Kronwal meet this criteria ( I know Smith is frustrating to most of you but he is still very young) but none of our other defensemen even come close to Babcock's brand of Hockey. All that said, I don't think Holland sees it this way and will most likely only pick up one average defensemen instead of trading for two top 4 types.

In a playoff series, there are a series of punches and counterpunches. We never counterpunched! Not once.

Mike Babcock has no clue what to do on PPs without Defensemen who can shoot. And we only have one.
