The thing has finally come. I hoped Osgood would bounce back to his form but that was wrong for everyone here. This is our last choice. Conks should be on fire for every game he plays and have to make a confidene in himself and on the team. Rafalski will be back soon but it is still sad to hear Lilja is out for rest of the regular season likely. Hopefully, he will be back at the time of the start of the playoff and get ready to play with Ericsson and he will do the job.

Some comments I read are meaningless. Because both the Wings and the Sharks are not even sure to make to the WCF. Like I said, I am in favor of taking first seed but if not, I am fine with that. We do not have to panic. But from my concept, the Wings will probably play against one of teams: Preds, Blues, Oilers, Ducks, or other teams. The rest of them will face the Sharks in the first round. I watched some of the Sharks games against them but I could not find any intensity from them. If we can handle the first round team easily, we will be fine because we usually play not great against the weak team but our veterans will boost the team up. Besides, some Sharks fans here are dumb. Why are there Sharks fans here? Be in the Sharks forum, not in the Red Wings forum.

I agree the first round will be tough. Like last season, we were not that good against the Preds. That was the toughest series to play last season's playoff. I am actually little bit scared of the Preds. They are the division rival(not the right word to put though) so we know each other really well. I am in favor to play against the Blues, Oilers, and some other teams.

I think you have some good opinions I really agree with. The Sharks are plain awesome at their Sharks tank while the Red Wings are also good at JLA, not as much as the Sharks are in their tank though. However, I think there is no magical assumption the Sharks will play great hockey in the tank during the playoff. As I remember the last season, the Sharks were great on the road game, far better than their home stats. It can be complained for several reasons as they did not play good enough but their road stats were 1W 2L against the Flames, and 1W 2L against the Stars. I agree the Sharks have a great chance to beat the Red Wings in the Sharks tank in game 7 but there is no magical assumption that the Sharks will be frightened to play in the Sharks tank. I am on your side the Red Wings need a first seed as much as we want and they want. However, it is not a necessary thing to achieve. What really desperate for every team is the great stanley cup, not desperate run for the president trophy or the first seed. I really want the Wings clinch the first seed in the West but I am going to be fine although the Wings clinched the 2nd. In 1997 and 1998, after we won the cup in 1997, we got the cup again in 1998; at that time, as you know we were the 2nd in the west behind the Stars. People said the Stars were great at home so the Wings might have a hard time to beat the Stars but the Wings won in game 6 and won the cup. One more example is 06-07 season's Flames. It must be quite funny to compare 8th seed team and the group of 1st seed and the 2nd seed team but the Flames had more than 30 wins in that season according to my memory. However, because of our decent home stats and away stats, we could eliminate the them in the game 6. Not a perfect series win for the first seed team to beat the 8th seed team but that is a deal. Besides, the Wings lost 2 games on the tank while they won 2 games in JLA. However, if I see deeply, the Wings actually could win the game, which we lost by 6-5. In JLA, it was just dominant performance by the Wings. If I assume the Wings and the Sharks meet in the WCF, I can see the Wings take one or two games from the Sharks tank while the Sharks will continuously struggle in JLA.

I am not gonna be rooting for any team against the Sharks. Also not root for the Sharks because I now really think it does not matter if we take the number one or the second seed to enter the playoff; it matters a bit for the home advantage but the level of this team that faced game 6 in the playoff for so many times give me a confidence that this team will do a good job in the playoff. More than just wishing some particular teams win, I think we have to look them carefully from even their little play like puck control and position and place players. It will be a good match up as much as I expect. Be sad but I have to do homework so I cannot follow the game T.T

No one here made fun of Osgood but if you think I have done so far, well then that is my big mistake. But you missed a point. Everyone here is a Red Wings fan regardless they are badnwagons or true fans. Therefore, you do not have to comment like whose are true fans and whose are not true fans. However, I do not know how many times I have repeated this sentence but if any player is playing bad, he should be blamed and criticized hard. I think it was you whose I talked against about Osgood's poor performance. I told you Osgood will not bounce back because he is not Brodeur or Roy. His out of position and playing with no responsibility and heart has brought up this record. You remember how people considered Hasek was our starter while they think Osgood as a backup. This time is no different. People here say Osgood is a career starter. Ok.. I do not care because he was great last season but this is 08-09 season, not 07-08 season. Personally, I would rather either Franzen or Hossa just gone and get a goalie. You guys called me a jerk because I said we need a good goalie while people think this team does not need a great goaltender because we are stacked up in a talent on both offenses and fenses. Truth is, as Ericsson is doing his job, Nick is coming to the end of his prime and play. That is why we need a goalie. No team does manange the team like us; placing goalies with around only 2-3 million. I said this is great but as the system of this team is changing, we will definately need a great goalie like Luongo.

I also feel very sorry for him. Remember how much we talked each other about Osgood's poor performance this season just one month ago. I kinda agreed on you after I absolutely attacked you but I seriously do not think Osgood will bounce back. He has been totally atrocious this season so far but nothing really has changed. If he allows only one or two goal, I am happy with that. However, he consistently allows more than 3 or 4 goals every game except for only few, he builds no confidence on himself. Besides, when Osgood allowed 7 goals against the Pens, which gave us a nightmare, he interviewed he is out right now. I was very pleased when I heard because I thought he is really considering himself to improve. However, if I hear his interviews lately, I really just hate him somehow. What has he improved? Positioning? Puck control? Rebound control? Confidence? I cannot see anything is improved. Conklin is not great either but he has been enough solid for pretty much all games. He did not steal absolutely but he has given us chances to win many games with a confidence. It does not matter Osgood has achieved a lot of playoff expereince because without effort and good performance, experience is absolutely useless and meaningless. 7 games are left. Give all starts to Conklin. That is the last thing we can do now.

To add my comment one more, Osgood does not look responsible for goals he allowed so far. He always interviews with words like " I am fine, I feel really good, I think I am going on the right way" even though the Wings lost because of mostly him. What a pathetic statement. If goalies allow weak goals, the team loses whole momentum and can do nothing. That was all Osbad's story this season.

At least Conklin is enough but Osbad has never been like that throught out the season. Maybe some like Joey shutout us few days ago. If goalies cannot bounce back from the slump during given few months, isn't that pretty much telling? I really do not know either but Conklin is at least way better than Osbad this season.

Great Post ^^.. Osgood was a career back up but because of a cup last season, people are saying he is a career starter. Go out and ask other fans whether Osbad is a career starter. If he was not in the Wings, he would not get that many wins. Because this team did not need and still do not need a great goaltender, they just afford a goalie who is paid a little bit but has a great effect. I never thought Osgood is a career starter and last season for him was also a career back up except for the playoff He is done now. He will never come back. You know a little sloppy play made by him every game. We need a good goaltender, not a great goaltender. I saw one post that Osgood has better odds to win thant Luongo, Brodeur, and other goalies. Do they know hockey? Everyone except for the Red Wings fans know those goalies are far better than Osbad.

Nope, but Osbad lovers will say some games: against the Wild, against the Ducks (one good save at the end), and two shut outs I think?

I did not watch the game because I went to outside to enjoy a warm day. However, I was just at the restaurant and the score was 2-1 when it was the 2nd intermission and I was pretty sure we would win this game. Nevertheless, the result was atrocious. I may have to go to watch the highlights right now but Osgood is just unacceptable this season. 22/26.. what is this? If goalies cannot stand in their head in the playoff, the team will be out very quickly. How the hell Osbad will perform good in the playoff? We do not have offenses problem and we do some on defenses but Osbad is just way worse than defenses right now. I am sick of hearing people say it is defense, not Osgood. Then, how the hell Conklin's save percentage is higher than Osgood while you guys say Osgood is far better than Conklin? We allowed only 26 shots, only 26. Is it a problem then now? I know we make some unacceptable turnovers but why is there goalie? Isn't it because goalies are there to stop some mistakes by defenses? Then, if goalies cannot stop the puck, why is there goalie? I told this before. This is not Osgood's season but Osgood lovers do not realize it. They do not care what happens to the Wings; they only care about whether Osgood starts or not regarldess of the fact he screws up the game or not. We have given Osgood all chances to bounce back but he did not. Now, if goalies cannot improve during more than 5 months, what is this then? He is just sucks and OSBAD. It does not matter what loyalty we provide to players. If players are playing bad, they have to be blamed. But Osgood lovers are just like "he will be fine".. hello..? I just do not get it. What's wrong with him? Did he forget how to play hockey during the summer? His playing level is my team's goalie's level, never can stop any puck.

Filp has tons of talent and he can be our good player in the future. I just do not understand how people bitched on Filppula because he had a rough time in the beginning of the season but now he shots more and as a result of that, he is having a good period of the season. That was KH's concept. He knew Filp would not be impressive because he is still young even though his playoff performance was extremely well done.

The list we have to send off or waive off or trade on the off sesason -Samuelsson -Stuart (for Volchenkov will be accpetable) -Kopekcy (waste of money) -Cleary (hard worker but nothing on being talented, around 2 to 2.5 million, we can get other players) Osgood was not great, but not horrible. I would say very good on some of shots by idiotic defensive mistakes.

Nah, that was the time I went to the Canucks game last season against the Flyers, 7-1 blowout. I was swearing in all my mind and wanted to get back my money. I understood your mind well.. 3 goals at least? Does not matter. Just go to games against some strong teams because the Wings are sloppy against weak teams while they are great against strong teams. What a brutal performance.

I actually felt uncomfortable before the game. How people just describe the Isles as the worst team in the league was almost same as how the Wings think on the Isles. That was a brutal joke. Why can we not beat the weak team as we beat the strong team? We just have no heart when we play against the weak teams. We have lost already three times to the Avs who is the worst team in the West and injury prone. We are gonna have a tough time to play in the first round. Idealitically 7th and 8th placed team will face us in the first round. I watched throughout the 1st and 2nd period. It was just a waste of time. More than a humilated lose, it was a freaking bored game, no offense except for Datsyuk was working hard. Zetterberg has looked totally lost last two games. He does not even control the puck well and let the opponent to steal the puck from the corner. Osgood made some good saves. No need to blame him on those 2 goals even though I kind felt bad on him. Lidstrom and Rafalski were atrocious and same with Kronwall and Stuart. Ericsson really deserves to be on the 2nd defense pair line. Besides, I do not know what to say about Babcock. How the hell Kopecky is on the PP unit? That is unacceptable. He looks to disrespect Hudler while he loves Kopecky? Just a waste of money. If we do not win on Sun, I am gonna be freaking pissed off... s*it

If we cannot win tonight, we have to get an embarassment tonight. Wake up. Do they still think they are still the champion? This is a new season. How the hell they are playing like this c*ap in the end of MARCH!

Just before the tuitor time as I came back to the forum but nothing changed during the time. Give up this game. The Isles deserves a win tonight. What I am worrying about this team is not talent, position situation or special team. We have to play with full hearts every game, but the Wings do not! How the hell they even did not produce really good scoring chances? Well, Joey made some good saves but Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Rafalksi are terrible out there tonight. How the hell they just do not cover up some particular players who they have to cover up? If we play like this s*it in the playoff too, I see the Wings go to the golf course after the 1st round.

I am not blaming Osgood tonight. He has been enough. We are just playing lazy hockey. How the hell they can play like this against the worst team in the league? I have a tuitor at 6:30 in PT so I have to go. Hopefully, the Wings will wake up and beat the axs of the Isles.
