I think Kenny might lose credit on Ozzie. No doubt Ozzie has been really bad and regarldless of his playoff experience, I think Kenny and Babs do not trust him in the net anymore. I agree we have to see how Howard plays but I do not think Howard will be at least worse than Osgood. This choice might happen because there is no worse than Osgood right now even though I think there is still a possibility he will bounce back

I just do not understand Kovalev right now. I think there is still a chance that Kovalev also went there but the Habs organization knew he would be charged or suspended for some so the Habs sent him to home? Sounds not natural but it can happen. If he is off for 2 days and now is the time to gain back his level of play, but he went back home? Does it mean he will be traded on the trade dead line or related to this scandal? By the way, I think it can happen easily because Montreal is involved in the French Canadian culture, which has a huge party. No matter what, this is the ugly way to celebrate their 100th seasons.

We do not have to move Homlstrom. As we watch right now, no one in the league can do screen job as much as Homer does. Besides, I do not mind if we trade or do not resign Draper, Kopecky, and Sammy. I have loved Sammy's play this season but if we consider Franzen will resign around 3.5 to 4 million, we cannot get Sammy. If we resign both Hossa and Franzen, that means we cannot resign Hudler either. Then, if we want to resign Hudler, we have to trade one player who make around 2 to 2.5 million. That's why people say trade Filp who has not been spetacular. However, I don't think Filp is moved because Kenny resigned him only 2 million this season and next season is 2.5 so let's wait for him. If we can trade Sammy, Draper, Maltby, or Kopecky to other teams, there is a bunch of chance that Osgood, and Stuart can be traded too. Besides, don't forget we have to resign Leino again after this season. He will be RFA but he will ask around .8 to 1million. It is never an easy choice but the bottom line is we have to have one of Franzen and Hossa and keep Hudler and Leino because they are the futures of the Red Wings

I just got back from the project and still has to do the work so may not be watching 3rd period either. How far has the Wings and Conk done so far this game?
-
Will not be able to watch the game by doing a project for the university. Hopefully we come up big and take a win. p.s)) By the way, what does GDT stand for? I just do not understand.. By the computer word, it is a graphic display terminal; but does GDT stand for like 'Game D____ T____'?

I am not against you and not emotionally acting about the season performance but Osgood is taxi squad? Not really. Mount Rushmore is the president sculpture so it should be the symbol of the Wings; I doubt Osgood will remain the face and symbol of this team forever. I will go with Steve Yzerman Gordie Howe Mike Illitch Nicklas Lidstrom taxi squad: Delvecchio, Sawchuk, Larry Murphy, Sergei Fedorov, Ted Lindsay, Scotty Bowman Funny squad: Ken Daniels

There is no guarantee we will be a weaker team next season. However, by the theory Osgood starts the playoff, I don't see we will even pass the first round of the playoff. Who cares if we can score 5 goals now. No team in the west will allow more than 3 or 4 goals during the playoff; well maybe some teams will do but better defensive is favor of winning the cup. Am I the only guy who thinks we do not have to resign both Franzen and Hossa? Signing only one guy is fine, no more. Huds and Sammy are not big deals because they will not capture that much part of the salary of this team. Now Osgood is in slump. He is 35 years old when the player cannot bounce back to his game again even though it is a goalie position. If we see the future far, Nick will retire. As some Osgood protectors say about Osgood will be fine in the playoff, then Eriksson will be as good as Lidstrom. There is no just magical and untrustworthy assumption in the life. Is hockey a third dimesional life for humans? Is it just childish lottery debate? Don't get me wrong. If we sign both Hossa and Franzen, we will not be the cup contender. I would like the Wings signing only Hossa and Huds which idealically causes 7.5 million. Then, if we can make some middle size of trade, then we will have a lot of cap room to bring up a high level goalie. Besides, if we sign Franzen, that means we will lose Leino. Then what is the future of this team? Can you guys explain about this? We are the oldest team in the league and people do not realize it If you still think we do not have to get a good goalie, that is a wrong concept. Nick has been almost goaltender for this team as the best defenseman as the Wings but he will not bounce back to his prime again; now people say his game is over but he is still awesome.

Why do some people here bash Sammy? Sammy has been way better than Filp this season. However, I think we have to see the long way. Now, Sammy is 31 years old and Filp is still young. Personally, I do not see we can resign Sammy next season. And if Filp is still playing bad next season, then yeah.. that is pretty much a trade deal
-
I just do not understand why people here keep saying we have to sign both Franzen and Hossa. Both players are really good but if we sign both, that means we cannot sign majority of our FA: Huds,Sammy,Leino, and some other players. Seriously, we just look to sign with only offenses right now. If we suppose the salary cap will be changed in next year, or at least in the future, we do not have to sign with all 2 players. I can take Hossa but if Franzen asks 4 million, that is an overpayment. If Hossa can take 6 million, then Huds for 2.0, Sammy for 1, Leino for whatever amount of money. Besides, we have to fix the problem on the goaltending. If we see Conks will leave this team next year, then can we stick up with Osgood? I meant, even though he bounces back to his game, that is not what I am concerning. After contract is done for Osgood after 3 years, he will be around 38 years old. We have to get a goalie who can be back up. Pepple say Howard and Larsson are not ready for the NHL, yeah.. then who do we have to put on the goaltending?
-
OK, I agree the Wings should be loyal to players. But what about Draper and Matlby this season? Why do we have to be loyal to Osgood this season? I do not know you watch soccer or not. AC Milan is the team known as the most loyal team in the Soccer league for players. People liked and also fans did in the past but because of that too big loyalty, they just failed and now having two consecutive tough seasons. Is it not proper we compare soccer league and the NHL? And again, I am not against Osgood. Before we care about one player, we have to care about the team first. If the team knows particular player cannot be positive effective player in this team, and if that team is still loyal to the player, I do not know which one is good.

Never thought you attack me, everyone here attacks(?), not a proper word but we know the trash talk is a half fun in the forum so you do not have to say like that. Lethonen was just my example so the Wings do not have to get him. It is just my opinion. But what I am trying to point out is if we think Osgood cannot go back to his 08 season performance during the future contract left for him, we will definately need a goalie. Did you not mention Conks is not a constant goalie? Well then Conks is good this season so he will not be this much next few season and neither our Larsson nor Howard are ready, then we definately need a goalie. We are not the only guys who think seriously about our goaltending. Our goaltending has been the issue for actually pretty long but because Hasek and Osgood were good in this team last two years, it was just hidden. Now, Hasek retired and Osgood is having a slump and he does not seem to bounce back to his game in the future because he is also old, then I do not see why we cannot trade goalies. And Nick is getting out of his prime right now so I cannot think our defenses will play the most and best defensive game in the league anymore. If our defenses cannot hold up other teams' opponents anymore in the future, then we need a type of goalie who can absorb a lot of shots like Luongo. Again, if my posts were sounded to attack you, and your post sounded to attack me, well then I am sorry for it.
-
And I agree we can give up some draft picks and some players to get Backstrom. Backstrom, personally, I think he is better than Luongo right now. But the idea to trade Conklin does not sound good to me because Conks has been enough good this season and giving up Filp does not sound good either because I mentioned before Kenny signed Filp with the thought Filp can be bad for some seasons but he still has a lot of potential ability I think. Still, I do not know how Kenny will do. Kenny announced he will not be interested on goalie but who knows, humans minds always change. And if Conks can be traded, I do not see why Osgood cannot be traded. Osgood is loyal to this team but from business's view, it is money and winning. One soccer players once said, players first show loyalty to teams, but for the team itself, it can kick every player who play poorly because sports market is a business and managers or adminstrators should do every positive work for the team.

I do not see why we should not afford a good and expensive goalie. Pretty much except for the Wings, a lot of team put a lot of money on goalie. I do not see why it should not happen to the Wings. Because our system right now is not paying a lot of cap on goalie, it does not mean our system should be like this in the future. Technically, the goalie who gets the most salary as a goalie is Luongo right now. He is getting around 6.5million. If we still consider our Wings game is centered by defenses hockey, we will not get Luongo. Then, if we suppose we do not sign Franzen, we still have to sign with Huds and Sammy if we suppose we sign Hossa for around 6 million. That is pretty much a deal. The ideal goalie for this team is like Lethonen or other some guy ages around 27 or 28 because those kind of goalie has skill and experience. I personally want Lethonen in this team even though I did not watch his game that much. But the thing is the time is very hurt. Now, Nick is getting 7.5 million and if we resign him, he will get way lower than right now. Then, by those money, we can sign a good goalie. That means if we want a good goalie, we cannot avoid a trade but I do not see that happens What I am concerning about Osgood and Conklin this season is that we have to deal with this for not only this season but for long future. If we still think Howard and Larsson still need more time to be the NHLer, we may have to need a good goalie under the fact Nick is getting out of his prime. Besides, if we consider our rest of defenses, Kronwall, Rafalski, Stuart, Lilja, and some like Lebda, we do not see our defenses will go defensively after Nick retires because players I mention above play very offensively. Then, unless Eriksson becomes super hot defense, we definately need a good goalie. I do not know who that goalie will be but just my opinion.
-
And I agree Conklin is overrated and myself is overrating Conklin too right now. But if you watched the most of our games, defenses play better when Conklin is in the net. Besides, Conklin stole some big goals from opponents. That is the difference. If neither goalie is an answer and we will not make any movement on goalie through the TD, we have to choose one goalie to give more confidence. But because Osgood has a loyalty on this team and has more experience, it does not mean he should be the first favor. I saw a lot of example that in the other sports, how veterans fail in the playoff when they have rough years. No different in Osgood. If he keeps playing like the worst goalie in the league, we should give Conklin to start. Important fact is that Playoff is on April and not much time is left. Personally, I hope Conks will start most of games left for us. I just have no faith on Osgood this season. I meant, in this forum, is there any person that feel comfortable when GDT shows Osgood is the starter? If not, that is pretty much done.
-
I think we deserved a win. No matter how sucks Avs is right now but our defenses were not huge problems. During the 2nd period and 3rd period, we held pretty much whole puck possession but Osgood stole no goal. Except for deflection, no excuse for other goals. People sometimes compare this year's Turco and now's Osgood. Look at the stats. Turco will pass .900 sv percentage soon and his GAA is already under 3.00. Osgood seems he even cannot control the puck going behind the net and letting all unacceptable rebounds which converted to goals. I meant, if you watch the Devils game, they can win with scoring only one or two. But what about us? Especially when Osgood is in the net, can you think many times that we won when we scored only few goals and allowed only 1 or 2 when Osgood is in the net? Not really.
-
Who is more reliable, Conklin or Osgood? Can you say Osgood with this terrible performance everyday and awful stats?
-
This season is different. At least Hasek' save percentage was above .900, actually .902. Osgood is having the worst record in the league. Then people expect he will fly in the playoff? What is difference between now's Osgood and 02-03's Joseph? Joseph has more experience than Osgood if it is needed to be said. Pretty much all said huh?

Who is a false Wings fan this point? People who think to bash the worst goalie in the league and people who think to have to start the worst goalie in the league every night? You are a true fan
