With all that said - one good thing came out of this game, well that is if you are a fan of USA Hockey. I am talking about Anderson. If he keeps this up Burke will have no other option but to bring him aboard for the '10 Olympics.
-
Man the selectiveness of some here is astounding. I don't remember anyone blaming this lost "solely at Howards feet". If you were replying to my comment, which I think you were, you clearly missed 90% of what I said. No first line scoring, secondary scoring, etc. And btw - Howard was ok. Anyone calling his play brilliant is a dolt. Anderson played brilliant, Howard didn't play as bad as he usually does. Just because Jhoward has the bar set lower then any other goaltender in Wing history doesn't mean every time he makes a save his play becomes "brilliant".
-
Thank you. I was looking through last years playoffs because I thought I remembered a game which had Osgood absolutely peppered.
-
Anderson stopped 48 shots tonight. Wow. It got me thinking -- When is the last time a Detroit goaltender stopped 45+ shots in a game? This isn't a hypothetical question either, I really am curious.
-
I am curious as too when those of you who decry any statement that in all reality sums up the Wings so far will feel that it is ok to worry? Is it 15 games in? 20 games in? When can people, in your little world, begin expressing concern without your scorn? Howard is bad. Osgood has been playing bad. Our stars are not scoring, and our secondary scoring is at best, very mediocre. When you add all that up you have a team that isn't going to fare very well.

Who f'ing cares what the people at the Pepsi center like or dont like. It is tame in their compared to the late 90's. Nice Lebda. Anyone thinking the Av's will score?
-
Anderson is a wall. An example of a goalie (at least his play of late) that can steal games.
-
If Anderson keeps up this type of play 'ole Burke is going to have to consider him for the Olympic squad.
-
Wow bro - you should really stfu. I don't care what your personal feelings are on the guy - he hears about it from enough people that his own teams fanbase should keep their lips shut, especially in regards to supporting Avalanche fans.
-
Lebda blows. Spare me the "one for all, all for one" bulls***. He is a liability on the ice. The mindset that has some protecting Lebda, loving Lebda, making excuses for his nausea inducing play is worrisome in the sense that it is starting to look like a reflection of the management - Uniwilling to make changes when needed.

Red Wings VP Jimmy Devellano on Fan 590: Wings fans should lower expec

Are you seriously agreeing that Jimmy V is a bandwagon fan? -

Haha. Wow. I am happy someone came out and say it. Hell, the people on these boards who have more or less said that we are simply not as good as we were have been dubbed "whiners", "fake fans", etc. It will be interesting to see how those who refuse to see the change in Detroit's prowess this year react to Jimmy V's statement. Will they call him names too? -
I am confused at what people expect from Howard? If anyone is under the impression that he is capable of being an above average NHL goalie - we are talking a sub 3.00 GAA and plus .900 SV % - they are sorely mistaken. The guys is what he is. Great college goalie, OK AHL goalie, below average NHL goalie. Period.

Definitely some cool ones so far. Here are some of my favorite of all time (past and present). 1) Even though he is really, really bad - I love Vesa Toskala's mask: 2) Again, not the best tender, but Garth Snow's TEAM USA mask always stuck out to me as pretty cool: 3) Mike Richter's cage. Classic: 4) Mike Vernon's Detroit mask - simple and clean: 5) Kinda a weird pick, but I loved Joseph's when he was here in Detroit: 6) Going back a bit - Gary Bromley's bucket looks cool as hell: 7) What's a "great goalie mask" thread without a Johhny Bower "Bay Window" mask mention: 8) All time winner - blowing away all competition -- The Thunder Bay Bombers net-minder: 9) Last but not least is a guy not yet in the NHL, but will look clean as hell when he is -- our own Thomas McCollum:

Haha.. Lebda.. Here are some videos that need to be included on the Facebook group: The guy is absolutely, positively, worthless.
-
I don't know how much I like this specific deal but I do know one thing is for sure - We need more offense. There is no ifs, ands or buts about it.
-
Sweet. Unfortunately though the thread is titled "2010 TEAM USA LINEUP", not "please make a statement about Canada tearing assholes."
-
Nice, I love talks about anything Team USA hockey related. I actually had the chance to attend their open "mini camp" in Illinois back in late August. It was definitely an experience - really great stuff. As far as the lineup goes I think their is still a ton of 'what ifs', but I will give it my best shot. Forwards: Zach Parise - Paul Stastny - Patrick Kane Jason Pominville - Joe Pavelski - Phil Kessel David Booth - Scott Gomez - Jamie Langenbrunner Bobby Ryan - Ryan Kesler - Dustin Brown Defense: Brian Rafalski - Ryan Suter Mike Komisarek - Ryan Whitney Erik Johnson - Rob Scuderi Goalies: 1) Ryan Miller 2) Tim Thomas 3) Craig Anderson Reserves: * David Backes * Chris Drury * Jack Johnson

I love the kid. I have watched his scrap with Hal Gill quite a bit and it never seems to get old.
-
LOL, it's amazing how anti enforcers spin things around here. You should worry about the guys we pay multi millions of dollars a year rather then spark up another enforcer debate. I mean because we all know that if Maltby was in the lineup things would be so much different.
-
To each their own. At the end of the day, and the numbers back this up - both the players and the fans like fighting in the game. Now, of course, their is a fine line and goonery is not something people want - but with that said, I do not think their has been a true "good squad" in the league for some years now.
-
1) Jeremy Roenick 2) Mike Modano 3) Eric Lindros 4) Paul Kariya 5) Patrick Kane As you can see I have a soft spot for American born players. I'll never forget the 1996 World Cup and 2002 Silver medalist teams, and Roenick and Modano both played a huge part on them. That explains Kane as well, who will be a Team USA fixture for years to come. Not to mention I have alwasys liked Chicago and Roenick and now Kane were huge parts of that organization.

Follow up to my top 3 -- Why I picked Hossa, Kozlov and Avery 1) Marian Hossa (kinda stating the obvious with this one) 2) Slava Kozlov (He has been putting up 60-70 pt seasons in Atlanta - ATLANTA!) 3) Sean Avery (I know a lot of people hate him, I absolutely love the guy and his game)
