    Aaron Downey Cut by Coyotes

Ya well, he was a fan favorite, provided an element the Wings didn't/don't have, and his presence during the regular season clearly didn't hinder our efforts of winning the Stanley Cup two years ago.

    Jason Williams

Well it looks like Jason Williams has found the forum.

    Jimmy Howard

I am surprised so many people around here act as though it is still up in the air whether or not Howard will be a decent, NHL calibre goalie. I mean, it's not like this is his first audition. He sucks - I mean, I hate to be blunt, but it's the truth. He is not going to be, nor will he ever be even an average NHL tender. Hell, he was average in the AHL, and it's not a fluke that he hasn't been brought up to the big squad until this year - he wasn't good enough. But whatever keeps folks happy. I will cross my fingers too if it turns out he was just "off his game" the last 3 years.

    Red Wings Training Camp Notes

In practice he looked alright, I mean the intensity was the equivalent of a pregame skate/shootaround. When it got to the scrimmage he stopped 12 out of 15. I don't remember a 2 on 0 being one of the goals but I could be wrong - there was a lot going on and my ADHD was on blast. It was awesome though - this was my first time at a training camp, and I really wish I could have stayed, but what can ya do.

    Red Wings Training Camp Notes

I don't know. 2 of the goals were soft as hell. To say he looked mediocre would be an compliment.

    Hudler is a "LOSER". Literally

You don't pay for them to sleep with you - you pay them to leave afterwords.

Who was the better player - Poll question

This one is a no brainer - Dean Youngblood, by a landslide. Not only would I take Dean over Gordan Bombay, I would have taken Dean's brother, Kelly Youngblood over Bombay. Why you ask? Simple, this quote: And then of course -- this: Bombay didn't have it, Youngblood did, he just needed add some sandpaper to his game, which he did.

    Bertuzzi feeling good

Haha, got a good laugh from that. As for Bertuzzi, at first when we signed him I was impartial, wasn't really upset or filled with joy. But with it sounding like he may be healthy, I have to say I am getting excited - if for nothing else, the thought of what he could contribute if he manages to dodge the injury bug.

Aaron Downey gets NHL Coyotes try-out

Here is the clip of Downey "running" the goalie too for all those folks apparently still outraged over the incident:

Aaron Downey gets NHL Coyotes try-out

You are a tool bro. I mean do you know the reason he ran the other teams goalie? Did you watch hockey before the year 2004? My guess is that your answer to both those questions are no.

    Lightning deal Artyukin to Ducks

Has Tom Kostopolous (sp?) ever won a fight? I swear to god, every scrap I have seen him in, he just gets owned.

Best NHL Goalie Masks of the 90s

I agree, I like Brodeurs mask a lot. From the list though, my favorite is #6, Eddie Belfour's Chicago mask.

Ken Holland about next years roster and williams

This is the most spot on statement I have come across today. Well said, I couldn't agree with you more.

Ken Holland about next years roster and williams

HAHAHAHAHA.... When I took you seriously I would get mad at this type of garbage... But now that I realized that you are -- putting it nicely -- the way you are, I just laugh. It's classic, whenever someone disagrees with you, it's clear what's coming; "blah blah blah, whine whine whine, go cheer for another team then, blah, blah, blah." I would tell you to shut up, but now that is has become entertainment I really want more of your blabber.

Sign Williams for $2 million... Duh...

    Does Ericsson make Lilja expendable?

Of course he does. It is clear the Wings have a quota on guys who have any size on them or grit in their game. One is enough in Detroit, there simply isn't room for any more.

Sportsnet: Hudler awarded 2 year deal 5m total; Still KHL bound

LOL you are 100% correct. And I am absolutely loving this back and forth between him, and well -- everyone.

Grier Could Bring Some Diversity to Hockeytown

I don't care what color the player is - the fact that people around here have literally been drooling over a very, very average Mike Grier has me baffled. I mean 10 goals and 13 assists - while playing on a stacked San Jose team (albeit, that lasted as long as the regular season did) is something 75% of NHL forwards could produce, if not more. I know the pickings are slim - and we dont have much money to play with - but I would rather grab a Dominic Moore or Manny Malhotra - and if we can't get a guy worthwhile offensively, someone with some size and a mean streak.

Who do we try for next?

I don't know if he has been picked up over the past day or so - I have kinda been outta the loop. I know his name has been thrown around though - Mark Bell. I understand his past legal issues but the kid has the potential to be a star. Scoring touch, more then willing to drop em when neccessary and great hockey sense. Unfortunately his off the ice sense has reason to be suspect - but I think that the Wings could really score a diamond here. Not to mention the leadership from top down in the Wings organization that would help keep Bell in check. I just think that this could be a huge addition to the Wings - and for cheap.
