I was kind of expecting the Rangers to pull an "Ottawa". I'm glad I was wrong. McGuire's "timeout interview" with Tortorella was funny, but he blew it by laughing when it was over. McGuire as a straight man? Never saw that coming. -

TSN is airing the Canada - Kazakhstan game (and well they should) and figure that "Krasnoslobodtsev" (Vadim) is the longest surname of an athlete they have encountered, clocking in at sixteen letters.

This "schtick" is not new and he has been using it for for some time. Until he figures out when he should talk and when he should stop the puck he will have problems. $5,666,667 for this? He needs to work on his game in the off-season, not use the Russian press as a conduit for his feelings.

Look at Uncle Gary, showing how little he knows about the history of his League! This is yet another line for his Wikipedia entry, under the heading of "Legacy". He needs to read a book about the history of the League. That way, he'll find out how many cities had original teams (the answer is three). Perhaps Bill Daly can read it to him.
