Jack Adams award discussion and speculation
cusimano_brothers replied to SDavis35's topic in General
Take this with as many grains of salt as you prefer. During the day, TSN replays "That's Hockey 2Nite" from the previous evening. One of the topics dealt with on Monday's replay was the playoffs. When the discussion got around to Colorado, show host Steve Kouleas intimated that two of the awards had already been voted and decided: the Calder Memorial Trophy and the Jack Adams Award and both were won by the Avalanche, saying that sometimes this information "slips out". -

I'm assuming the CBC will be covering this series...if they're still on the air. Win in spite of Michel Therrien. GO HABS GO! -

The last time Detroit played Boston in both the playoffs and in a "Series A" was 1956-57. -

St. Louis' losing streak is greater than Detroit's. That all I've got.

Yzerman's past experience with the kind of situation might come in handy.

Maple Leafs Name Shanahan New Club President

Something heard from John Shannon yesterday: 'member "The Shanahan Summit" during the lockout season of 2004-05? Guess who picked the tab? What does an "Assistant Governor" do anyway? A funny line form the National Post: He's no Drake. -
Another "home domination" team stops ends their domination; the end of a 17-game Home winning streak v. Carolina/Hartford (2OT, 1SH), 12/10/1990 - 21/11/2013.

A second lawsuit has been filed; from Toronto Sun: -
I was slumming today and watched the Tim & Sid simulcast thingy they do and heard a stat from Micallef that is mind-blowing: the Leafs had a League worst average of 35.9 shots allowed per game. Miccallef then said he spent about an hour and went back to the available stats and found that since 1997-98, nobody has put up a worse number. The much lauded TML defence might be a priority to look at.

From CBC: Why the urgency to fill this position ASAP? A fear of more rioting? Their ownership is a train wreck.

Most All-time Regular Season Wins, Coach / Head Coach: 414, Mike Babcock With last night's victory v. Buffalo, Mr. Michael Babcock moved into first place on the Club's All-time list for most regular-season wins by a Coach / Head Coach, passing John James Adams. His 414 wins, in 701 games, account for 59.1% of games coached. Helping to accentuate how impressive this record is, consider the following: it took Mr. John Adams 963 games to win his 413th game, 264 more than it took Mr. Babcock to reach that same number. Congratulations, Mr. Babcock!
