I think that Gillis hoped that the hiring of Tortorella would help fans forget about his action/inaction in available deals, especially in the Luongo/Schneider situation. How's Eddie Läck working out?

The facts; from NHL: Exhibit "A" With the playoffs right around the corner, Shannyvision hasn't had a very busy season, at least compared to some. So...how many? I will guess cinq.

Following last night's win, has there anything "official" been said regarding some sort of physical concern with Howard? -

The way Gillis manhandled the goaltending situation in Vancouver = player mismanagement. This mess started long before Tortorella's hiring.

From TSN:

The TSN website says: "The Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins are tied 2-1 in the first period at the Air Canada Centre."
-
An angry Boston team, going into Toronto tonight? Sweet.

From Hamilton Spectator: Dumb and Dumber: The Sequel.

I laugh at the idea that a new facility is going to have to be built in order for the Maple Leafs to host one of the gazillion upcoming outdoor games to be played.
-
From CBC: People are still being warned, yet not much is being done. Sad.

When any of the other major sports have created "Wild Card" teams, more teams have been added to the original playoff picture. When I first heard that this was going to be introduced this season, this is what I envisioned. But, not Uncle Gary...oh no. He just swaps out two existing playoff teams for a brand new label. The man is a dope.

Early on this season, when all was well and the standings painted a bright and rosy picture for "Leafs Nation", the players bought into to "The Carlyle Way". Something seems to have happened recently, almost as if some aren't drinking Kool-Aid from the same trough. Did Leiweke's directions for the "Cup Parade" have a "Best Before" date on them? Ron Wilson, where are you when you're really needed?

From Detroit Free Press: There is some shrewd negotiating.

Nothing worse than trying to convince current season ticket holders that renewing their seats is a good idea when the team stinks; even more so when a new proposed arena has to be filled. From a marketing standpoint, I think that a "Oilers Jersey Giveaway Night" would be a great idea; they've collected enough of them this season alone that the cost to the team would be zero.
