Here is a suggestion for the NHL's Public and Media Relations Department, on a new slogan to help promote the game: "There's nothing wrong with a little carnage; it's the slection process than needs a bit of tweeking".

Twenty wins is impressive. Twenty wins before Labour Day is more impressive. Twenty wins before the end of August, to me, is the most impressive thing. Detroit should shut him down, now that they have the Central Division all wrapped up (must be true, I read it right here!). Can't wait for 2015 to roll around.

Will we ever hear the real story behind the total restructuring of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon?

They should get Steve Perry to sing it at their home games; I'm sure he's sitting by the phone in his home, waiting for the call. Any call.

Shanahan reveals some details on process he will take for discipline

It is refreshing to see that he lays out his good intentions at the outset. Will he set the bar higher for what is expected of this position? Only time will tell. It will be even better if he can sweep aside the "ownership lobbying" that still goes on; efforts made by team officials, that have no business being made, to try to lessen punishment handed out or handing out punishment that isn't in the first place. -
Has anyone been able to experience the "good vibrations" emanating under the cities of Windsor and Detroit?

I'm amused by the League's stance, saying that the greatest advantage to the shallower net is that it will lead to more wrap-around goals. It will soon become the new "most exciting play in hockey". -

The League will refer to one as a "Chara". -

Nothing yet about the Leaue getting more competent officials, both on-ice and off-ice? Pity. -
No games on NBC in the first two months of the season? Not shocked at all. Didn't the League get the memo regarding Versus' new name? Maybe it's still supposed to be a surprise. TSN.

Emrick better than Foster Hewitt? I don't think so. -
From the description, it might have been Samuelsson wearing a Kesler mask.
