From Regina Leader Post :

The Leafs still have to prove they're the "new" Leafs.
-
His entire career spent with the same organization; a rare and dying breed of player.

I did qualify it by saying "might". Remember the League's mantra: "The games will be called exactly the same during the playoffs as they are during the season".
-
From TSN: Don't worry, he was in the organization before the signing of Emery. I don't think they will be the "second coming", but they won't be "marginal" either. Mr. Campbell might be even busier than usual.

Listening to some of the post-game comments of Coach Ruff on the Sabres radio broadcasts, even he didn't know which "Max" was going to show up for the game. In one game, Coach Ruff played him early on, then sat him in the second period for the rest of the game. After the game, I thought Lindy was going to use the line from the bus stop scene in "Forrest Gump". And Coach Ruff got really good at what to look for from Afinogenov. He plays in the zone of "SMT"... "Standard Max Time". Bottom line: if Max isn't on the ice, look for him in the middle of the bench.

And the snowblower incident was the scariest; from The Sporting News I like the nickname "Quoteless Joe". A very classy leader. Next stop: the HHOF.

Coaching consultant?

I see a new commercial on the horizon... Hudler: "I'm thinking Arbi!"

From Source : And the goal scoring is going to come from....? He's already said that the top priority of his "plan" is to get tougher, then he will worry about goal scoring next. Never a dull moment.

From Toronto Star : The damage control has already started.

Dale Tallon: a mad genius.

They've been waiting since 1961â„¢, so waiting a little bit longer won't matter that much; it builds character! I'm glad to hear about the filing of the grievance; this is why there is a collective agreement. In this particular case, Chicago's violations of the CBA are on more than one count. Nothing may come of it, but the PA was backed into a corner; the League had made it's decision and it wasn't going to be against Chicago.

From Chicago Daily Herald: Chicago has opted to defer the following excuse: "Our dog ate the paperwork."

A hockey article coming out of Quebec without a reference to the mob? Maybe they meant to use "Canadiens" instead of "Blackhawks" and replace "Tallon" with "Gainey".

Heads will roll. Who's job was it to send these out? Who? Stan Bowman? Nevermind.

That means the ceremony to retire his number is cancelled, right? -
From Chicago now: His inconsistent play (plus his wife's comments to the media) drove Montreal to trade him. The pressure he faced in being tagged as "the next great Canadiens' goalie" may serve him well now, but I think the media scrutiny in Chicago will just a bad, maybe worse. 1961.â„¢

From TSN: Looks good on Heatley.
