A few years ago, during my annual trip to Toronto to the HHOF, I headed south to the Air Canada Centre to do a walkabout. I'd just the building, I look up and there he was, wearing a trench coat and carrying a briefcase, going to work (the Canadian headquaters of the League is right night door to the ACC). Behind him was his female intern/assistant/go-fer, carrying his garment bag. The only thing missing was that he wasn't wearing a fedora.

Here's something you won't here from Penguins fans today, so I will share it. On AM640 Toronto (home of the Leafs), they have had the home team's radio feed for each game of the SCF; Mr. Kal and Mr. Woods for G1 and G2, with Mike Lange and Phil Bourque for G3 last night. It's the Second Intermission, the score is tied at two. Lange is talking about how Detroit has it over Pittsburgh in the one area that, he says, will win you the Cup: team defense. He said that if Pittsburgh gets beat in the SCF, they can at least say they were beaten by an overall better team. I was shocked that he was that openly honest on the air; maybe he's retiring at the end of the season and doesn't give a b-r-a. I can't wait to listen to G4 to see if he's singing the same song.

I don't know if NBC had this or not: just before the start of G2, CBC showed footage of the incident when Crosby whacked Maltby on the ankle as he was leaving the ice after G1. They even showed two angles of it.

Coach Babcock must like what he's seen in Leino; he double-shifted him near the end of the game.

Points for Pittsburgh fans to consider: 1) Not doing enough: Miroslav Satan 2) When are they going to start seeing the "superior" goaltending that's supposed to be in Pittsburgh? 3) The only way they might have four strong lines is if the League allows them to dress more players.
