Columbus Columnist: Osgood is Wings' Weak Link
cusimano_brothers replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Last year it was some guy at the Dever Post, followed by the other guy at the Dallas Morning News, followed by Gene Collier at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, this year... In an effort to assist the LGW community, I have provided the email address of Mr. Arace, to be used to remind him how little he knows about NHL hockey: marace@dispatch.com By the way, his next big sports reporting assignment comes this July and August, when he will be a judge in the "Butter Sculpture Competition" at the Ohio State Fair. -
Terry Mosher, aka "Aislin", is the editorial cartoonist for the Montreal Gazette. Here is today's effort: "Aislin". His cartoon from Wednesday, April 22nd is good too.

Kesler and Burrows talking trash about Backes' wife
cusimano_brothers replied to hillbillywingsfan's topic in General
This kind of "stuff" happened in the last Chicago - Calgary game. The game was on TSN and Pierre McGuire said he had never, ever heard a star player get the verbal abuse that Jarome Iginla received in that game. What went on in that game got the attention of the League, namely Colin Campbell. Adam Burish may be out of the next game, due to a bruised image: "It's the same stuff that people say to me," Burish said. " 'You suck. You're terrible. I'm going to kill you. I'm going to hurt you. I'm going to beat you up.' "I hear that every game. It's nothing that bothers me." The only problem is that he's one of the "gang" who's dishing it out. -

Not really; Michael Arace wrote the original article and the "retraction" (more like the truth) was written by Bill Rabinowitz. Feel free to direct your congratulatory emails to Mr. Arace on a job well done. -

The look of disgust (not disbelief) on Coach Tortorella's face sums it up nicely: "What have I got myself into?"

When hockey playoffs start, drug testing stops
cusimano_brothers replied to Xitium's topic in General
The League might as well suspend drug testing for the playoffs; it looks like they've suspended officiating as well. From the quote from the link: "Blue Jackets captain Rick Nash slowly collected a handful of empty bottles littering his corner of the visitors' locker room in Detroit's Joe Louis Arena and deposited them in a trash can." I got the mental image of him in his "personalized" bathrobe, pushing a shopping cart on the streets of Columbus and... -
I saw this item listed at nhl dot com: DVD. Two seasons from now will be the 85th anniversary of the Detroit Professional Hockey Club of the National Hockey League, along with two other teams; but really, who cares about them. I think it would be great if the League decided to do a similar set for the DRW and, hopefully, they've already given the project some thought. Like I said, here's hoping.

cusimano_brothers replied to Grinder_25's topic in General
They are; they're like a community cable station, only on the air because they have a permit to be there. "I was doing so well". Maybe his "career" as a sports talking head flashed before his eyes. -
