That stick handling sequence had too much razzle and not enough dazzle.

In London's First Round Series vs. Erie (Series B West), Tavares' totals are: Game #1: 1G, 2A, all in the third period, in a 5-2 London win Game #2: 1G, 1A, again all in the third period, in an 8-1 London win.

The high road taken. We'll see what happens next; sometimes even the young have a problem with "selective hearing".

It's amazing that Tootoo stayed upright the entire time.
-
I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a nightmare after seeing that jersey.
-
Very impressive. Video #2>Video #1. He probably only had to do one take. And hats off to Reebok in choosing a great player.

Where did Tootoo learn how to backpedal like that? And tape on his knuckles? What, no foil in the dressing room? Cleanup in Aisle One!

They say McLellan knows everything there is to know about the DRW organization. Maybe he's checking out LGW to see if there's something he's missed.

Thoughts on a bet I made before season's start?

65-13-7? The League lets the players stop at 82 games. Good luck with Plan B. -
In the example of "revenue sharing" in MLB, it's not written anywhere what the "small market" teams are supposed to do with the money that they receive. You would assume they would take most of that money and make their organization better; through free agency, trades, etc. But there are still teams that who knows where their cut goes but it sure isn't going towards putting a better product on the field for the fans who are paying the contracts. This system allows some owners to say "mediocre is fine, can I have some money, please".

Maybe just a little too much hometown hype about what was expected in Chicago; especially with the hiring of William Scott Bowman.

Draper to play in his 1,000th game for the Red Wings tonight

I found a reference online to a trade on July 9, 1990: Buffalo traded Ray Sheppard to the NY Rangers for $1 "to avoid the waiver wire". "Total Hockey" lists the transaction involving "cash and future considerations". -
Who should get their names on the cup and be considered a champion?
cusimano_brothers replied to Nightfall's topic in General
What the League says, at nhl dot com: "To have one's name engraved on the Stanley Cup certain requirements must be met. A player must have at least 41 games played with the club or one game played in the Stanley Cup Finals. However, in 1994 a stipulation was added to allow a team to petition the Commissioner for permission to have players' names put on the Cup if extenuating circumstances prevented them from being available to play." As long as the possibility of petition exists, I see no problem with the League's system the way it stands. Also remember there is the "or" in the above statement, not "and". I wonder why the "petition stipulation" was added in 1994? Hmmm. -
Great win and a great team effort. Sixteen games unbeaten at home vs. Philadelphia and counting, longest current unbstk in the NHL. The last time the Flyers won in Detroit: Jacques Demers was the Head Coach and the Joe Louis Arena was just finishing up it's 9th season. Wow!

There is another one up on their website: white (I think the one I saw was black), not signed. The bidding started at $500 and yesterday went from $850 to $1200.

Draper to play in his 1,000th game for the Red Wings tonight
cusimano_brothers replied to Mike's topic in General
He joins a list with some pretty impressive names; one of the greatest transactions the organization ever made. It's hard to believe that Bryan Murray was General Manager then (maybe the Head Coach told him to do it). -
Also. But isn't Crosby worried about someone messing up his "new face of the NHL"? I can't help but think about this happening after Pittsburgh got back into the hunt for a playoff spot.

Wings games on radio in Lansing area?

I sure miss the days when WJR were the "flagship" station of the radio network. -
Current Streaks Season Streaks Overall: 2-game winning streak (1 shutout) Home: 1-game losing streak (shootout). Streaks vs. Philadelphia Overall: 1-game losing streak Home: 7-game winning streak (1 overtime & 1 shutout) 15-game unbeaten streak (2 ties, 1 shutout & 1 overtime). This the first home game vs. Philadelphia since January 12, 2006. Record on this Date March 17 This is the 34th gme played on this date. The Club's record in the previous 33 games: 18W-13L-2T. This is also the date of the "Richard Riot" game at the Montreal Forum, in 1955. During the first intermission, a smoke bomb was thrown in the arena. Montreal Fire Chief Armand Parie advised President Clarence Campbell that he was halting the game "for the protection of the people". With Detroit leading 4-1, it remains the only forfeit win in Club history. Richard Riot. LGW.

I'm hoping that on Monday, April 13th, their website will print the new schedule; of the shopping mall locations where the team will be doing autograph signings.

Thank you; I was stuck in "mid-edit".

100 With yesterday's game vs. Columbus, Detroit reaches the 100-point mark in a season for the 15th time in Club history. It is the 11th time playing an 82-game schedule; 2 in 70-game schedules and 2 in 84-game schedules. 9 Detroit reaches the 100-point mark in a season for the 9th straight season played, beginning in 1999-00. 2 Yesterday's game marks the 2nd time that 100 points and clinching a playoff spot happens in the same game; both consecutive seasons.
