Not according to Mr. Kelly, in this segment done for "Legends of Hockey: The First Season": The Red Head. What Mr. Kelly says is along the same line as the passage provided by egroen. I wonder if "Red" was used on a forward line when he played at St. Michael's College in junior? The quotes from Mr. Lindsay and Mr. Howe seem to sum up their feelings and speak volumes of Mr. Kelly's importance to the DRW and to hockey, as a player. Also: Red Kelly. I had forgotten that while in Toronto, he was working two jobs: hockey player and Member of Parliament.

Bettman: "Who told you that?" Classic; last time I heard him ask that question was in a Ron MacLean interview. "Stroumbo" is one of the best.

The next Harold Ballard? Ooops.

Please note the date on this article. When I first saw it, I thought I could add it to Avery thread or I could I add it to the mullet thread. I decided to do neither; the less press Avery gets, the better off the world is. After hearing the latest story about the Rangers possibly being interested... Ron Duguay.

A win is a win is a win. And, there is less pain involved than with an ugly loss. -
His son Christian was part of the London / Oshawa OHL trade involving John Taveres and was a player the Generals insisted had to be included in the deal.

Along with Ted Lindsay, Hall was another player with the DRW behind the player's attempt to organize the first "association" (aka union) in the NHL. When the attempt was beat down by the owners, all of the reps from the Clubs (except for Doug Harvey in Montreal) were traded. Lindsay and Hall were both traded to Chicago in 1956-57 in the same deal.
