I laughed last season at the way Ottawa "handled" the Emery fiasco; Murray could have stood up for HC John Paddock, but instead they fired him.

I remember an article that was in the Toronto "Star" years ago about Burr. When Fedorov first came to the DRW, he was assigned to room with Shawn on the road. He was just starting to learn a new language and was given this advice by Burr: Watch as many cartoons as possible on TV.

From the "Gazette" article: When someone suggested that Kovalev seems to pick up his game when Saku Koivu is injured and Kovalev assumes the captain’s role, Carbonneau said: “I hope that’s not the truth. Because then we’re in trouble because I’m not taking the C off Saku. If somebody needs a letter to perform well on the ice, I have a tough time with that. Alex is a professional. He’s not a rookie. Right now, he’s struggling, but we need him if we hope to go far.” When asked what aspects of Kovalev’s performance were found lacking, Carbonneau said: “That’s between him and me.”

If this was April 1 and not February 1, I'd say that this thread was started by Tim Cheveldae. -

Here is a sampling of various comments, culled from this thread: Too many Europeans Not enough north americans YES there are too many Europeans I don't care about hearing about Canadian bulls*** the fact that he walks and talks like me and would blend right in to my social circle Now, I more fully understand why Clint Eastwood filmed "Gran Torino" where he did!
