http://www.thestar.com/Sports/Hockey/article/559491 With a special notation to this: "A row of gross violations was committed by the medical brigade helping A. Cherepanov," the statement said. Among them, doctors arrived on the scene a full 12 minutes after Cherepanov collapsed, and the battery on the defibrillator used to try to shock Cherepanov's heart back to life was drained, the statement said".

As if we need another reason to want to crush San Jose

Pepi's just pumping up his future NHLPA pension cheque. Maybe the two-way part of his deal is to the KHL. -
What's next: getting that Bartman guy to ride around on the Zamboni with a goat? How about Geraldo Rivera trying to open up some old safe, maybe find Jimmy Hoffa inside. That's why I thought that the Big House or Yankee Stadium being on the short list made more sense.

From RedArmy: Investigators also concluded that if Cherepanov received the right medical help at the stadium where he collapsed, he would have been ok... The stadium didn't have the right equipment or paramedics on standby , so it is considered criminal negligence or something along those lines... and basically from what I understand they needed a defibrillator because CPR wasn't helping... This other part of this story is probably more important than the other. Let's not forget that quick work by rinkside medical attendants saved the life of a DRW. What's being done in Canada: http://www.canada.com/windsorstar/news/sto...00-fa25b2b2d521 and http://www.heartsafe.ca/news.php What's being done in other countries to help prevent this kind of thing from happening?

Mats Sundin Signs With Vancouver Canucks
cusimano_brothers replied to ManLove4Homer's topic in General
Leading up to last season's trade deadline, the media was busy playing "will he / won't he", regarding his okaying a trade. He said he didn't want to go to another team and be a "part-season player". What ever money he will be paid this "season" bends his scruples this way: Playing from the trade deadline to season's end last season would have been wrong, but playing from just before Christmas to season's end this season is alright. People, we are not talking about Gordie Howe here! -
Much in the same way when Detroit announced the signing of Ulf Samuelsson.

Melrose Hopes Tampa Doesn’t Win Another Game This Year
cusimano_brothers replied to Wings_Fan_In_Exile's topic in General
Melrose's hating of Detroit goes way back. He served three seasons with the A-Wings, until 1991-92. During his last season in Adirondack, a balloon was floated that he was being groomed to be the next Head Coach of the Red Wings. Enter Bruce MacNall in Los Angeles. Whether it was LA wanting to stick it to Detroit or Melrose thinking he was going to get a more "glamorous" posting, he went to the left coast in 1992-93. Brian Murray lasted as both General Manager and Head Coach one more season. Murray's last season as just General Manager was 1993-94, when Detroit hired William Scott Bowman as their new Head Coach. And that worked out just fine. -
