In a word, yes. Third game in. He toughed it out, though. Glen Sather: "What the hell was I thinking?" -

I think both sides know how important 02/01/2013 is. -
Anyone else remember when this was proposed by the League? I do. The timing of it was, in a word, impeccable. The on-ice officials have to made aware of what goes on (if they aren't already), recognize who the guilty parties are and talk quietly amongst themselves in order to solve this problem. Would the League appreciate it if a list was published of the worst on-ice officials?

He did return earlier than anticipated from playing in the Swiss league; aggravation of a recurring groin problem. -

The "proposal" was sent by email. I laugh. -

With this "nugget", "Brooksie" has vaulted himself into contention for the Pulitzer Prize in Sports News Reporting. "Torts" couldn't be more pleased. -

Columbus would draw more people if they wore uniforms from The Ohio State University. Not to worry though, they'll be getting their Winter Classic game real soon. -
As Head Coach Spott declared early on, the officiating in this tournament has lead to some questionable calls.

There is one small problem which Mayor Bing says can and will be "cleared up" once the "books" are scrutinized.

Side with the owners? Really? If so, you'll be waiting a long, long time for your rebate cheque from the League, thanking you for all your support. A hunger strike would be less painful. Here's a question for the members of the "Uncle Gary Fan Club": If there was no union, would some be siding with the players, or is the selection of support the "lesser of two evils"? -

One thing I heard this afternoon (at this point in time, does it really matter who?) dealt with this: - Ten-Year Agreement (through 2021/22 season); Parties have mutual opt-out right after 8 years. Apparently sponsors have been in contact with the League and in essence have asked this: "Is a lockout going to happen in another five years? If so, we would rather not get into a long-term advertising deal with you if this is the way you plan to negotiate a collective agreement". Five years, ten years, it's all the same and that won't change. -

Highlights from TSN. -
Conan>NHL. I laugh...but it really happened. Besides, Uncle Gary saw the upside and could smell the ratings available with a Saturday/Sunday start to the '09 SCF. The players be damned.

Apparently, the interview in question was done a couple of weeks ago and has only been printed now. News travels slowly in Russia. He's also not making himself available to the media for "clarification" on his comments, in particular the Canadian media.
-
Maybe another case of "misinterpretation" will be right around the corner. He said "Canadians" and not "North Americans". Interesting.

Yakupov is still bitter over the fact that someone told him there was a "night life" in Sarnia.

Good game by "The Nuge".
