A bit of clever marketing by a Canadian Junior "A" hockey team:

The only reason Craig Leopold was there was to remind Uncle Gary that he's already put in the order for the Minnesota Wild 2013 Stanley Cup Champions banner and the deposit is non-refundable. I thought Mr. Fehr did an excellent job of providing the history of how the players gave up too much in the last negotiations and how they are being asked to give up more...again during his press conference.. Fun Fact: Uncle Gary can say the word "no" in umpteen different languages.

"Trouble" - Little Feat.

TSN once again doing their usual outstanding job of reporting. Mr. McKenzie is a positive example of the idiom about the apple and the tree; his father taught him well.

"My Old Man" - Ian Dury.

The Onion probably knows how close they came to the truth in that story. Maybe that's why Uncle Gary is both so dependable and predictable at the same time.

I totally agree. The NHLPA is so much further ahead, in terms of leadership in this round of negotiations, than at any other times in their history. Communication and participation at all levels is better than ever. Of course, it had been at such an all time low... Now the bad news, in the form of a prediction: = deal breaker. From Toronto Star : If that single provision isn't tweaked, it's over, Johnny.

Lockout X 3. This tactic shows a total alienation from both the entire process of collective bargaining and a of your employees. On today's episode of OTR on TSN, Michael Landsberg said that the "leak" was provided by the League; he said "NHL" and not "NHLPA. The more I think about it, he may have been referring to the details of there "lipstick-on-a-pig" offer.

The offer on the table....whats the prediction?

Too many "grey areas" in the offer. Did I hear this correctly (maybe I didn't): that in order to play an 82-game schedule and finishing the season per usual, calendar weeks with five games will have to be played? That works out to two weeks per schedule month. -
Uncle Gary's track record in "negotiating" speaks for itself. Again, the NHLPA is trying to negotiate a fair and equitable for their membership; not for the owners, not for you and not for me. I get it.

The NHLPA is negotiating a deal that benefits their wants and needs. I understand and appreciate this.; it's too bad others refuse to.

As you can tell from this photo, they're not amused. -
Make the first "major concession". See "Lockout #2, in a series of three 9so far)". Why did Uncle Gary enforce the lockout? Why did Uncle Gary "lowball" in the first offer? A lot of people have put their blinders on and focused on "50-50" aspect of the offer and that's a big mistake. I totally agree with the observations made by Mr. MacKenzie and Mr. Dreger on TSN that there is a lot buried in this proposal and that, if they're not careful and make a counter-proposal, the players are going to get screwed... again. As of this moment in time, Uncle Gary has underestimated his bargaining opponent.

Ah, Moe. "I'm Sticking With You Baby" - Little Willie John.

Why did it take Uncle Gary and Uncle Bill-shut so long to do what they did today? Uncle Gary is the greatest; just ask him.
