According to the Toronto Star, it appears the Sportsnet has sunk a lot of money into their new-look hockey studio for the new HNIC broadcasts:
Most TV studios operate at one of two extremes. They are either in large, dark cavernous spaces with sets littered around the edges to provide maximum flexibility and variety in shots, or they are surprisingly small, with just enough room for the anchor desk, cameras and crew. Rogers’ new Sportsnet Hockey Night in Canada set is neither.
Housed in a made-over 10th floor space in the CBC building — where the in-studio elements for Hockey Night in Canada used to be shot — the new $4.5-million set is a gleaming state-of-the-art studio that looks like something for which Starfleet might like a design credit.

Who was the last player to fight Steve Moore?

From TSN:
NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly says there is "nothing new to report on this subject."There you have it: six feet from the horse's mouth. -
Can't wait to see the listing for the "Parade Route map" on eBay.
-
Two things:
1) In this particular case, adhering to "The Code" didn't work out.
2) I really wanted this case to go to trial because, as I had stated before, for Moore to lose people were going to have to lie.

At first, I thought it was filmed in front of his summer cottage.
The better news, from CBC:
It began as a competitive pursuit among professional golfers to draw awareness to ALS. Now the "Ice Bucket Challenge" has swept North American social media and is translating into millions of dollars in new donations to battle the disease.
The ALS Association said Monday it has received $15.6 million in donations since July 29, an eight-fold spike over the $1.8 million donated during the same period last year.
The association said this summer's donations have come from existing donors as well as more than 300,000 new donors.

From NHL:
Outdoor hockey is returning to California for a second straight season, the National Hockey League announced Wednesday. This season's game features two teams that have become quite familiar with each other in recent years.
The San Jose Sharks will be the home team against the Los Angeles Kings at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on Feb. 21, 2015 at 7 p.m. PT (10 p.m. ET) as part of the 2015 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series. The game will be broadcast by NBCSN and Hockey Night in Canada.
No two teams in the NHL have played against each other more than the Sharks and Kings have since the start of the 2010-11 season. They have played 41 games, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs, in the past three seasons, highlighted by seven-game series in each of the past two postseasons.

My issue with the proposed OT rules is that, with the 4-4 and then 3-3, it has the potential to turn the sport of hockey into a mockery.
Do worry; that "mile marker" was passed a long, long time ago.

Re "Rule 85":
1) Why "seven minutes"?
2) Regular season games have already been dragged out as far as they can. You want excitement? Ditch the "dog-and-pony show" know as the shootout and start with five-on-five in the overtime. After each minute, one player per team is taken off, so that if the overtime goes the full five minutes, you're left with two goalies and two skaters in the final minute. No winner? No problem; bring back the single point for that archaic thing know as the "tie game".

If anyone can make it happen, Uncle Gary can.

From New York Post:
Wayne Gretzky has joined a group of investors hoping to bring a National Hockey League team to Seattle, The Post has learned.
The Gretzky group is one of three looking to bring an NHL franchise to the home of Starbucks, sources said — but each faces an uphill battle in that league Commissioner Gary Bettman has not said the league is ready to expand.
It is not known if the Gretzky group or either of the other two groups are eyeing an expansion team or hope to move an existing team to the Pacific Northwest.
Uncle Gary has already said "no" to expansion in the "foreseeable future". Plus, he put all that hard work and effort in realignment, not to mention the cool names for the new divisions. However, we are talking about "The Great One"; you know, the one the League still owes that money to...

From CBC:
Witnesses said Giroux "mocked" the officer and grabbed his buttocks three times, while also swearing at the officer. Giroux was arrested but he was not charged.“I regret my actions on Canada Day and sincerely apologize to my fans, teammates and the Philadelphia Flyers organization for my misguided attempt at humour," a statement read. Two out of three ain't bad.
