i wouldnt mind seeing use getting a guy in the mold of a shanny but a goon would be useless for the wings i see alot people harp on Big Bert for taking stupid penalties, what do you think a goon is going to do when he does see ice time? add in the fact that theres talk of getting rid of staged fights that makes a goon slightly more useless i saw someone post on another thread that guys like Getzlaf, Jarome and Morrow all get drafted in the first round and the wings usually dont get a high enough pick to get a player in that mold i personally think if holland had a chance to draft a guy like that he would. By the time the wings get on the clock all thats left are gritty guys with some skill, or small-ish euro skill players i see your point if we got tougher and more nasty they'd probably sell more tickets but thats not the end all be all. A fighter ist gonna make the tickets prices drop or the economy fix itself and those are also deciding factors in how many tickets sell. If all three of those things changed then we'd be seeing sellouts in the Joe

in a role like Huds had yes i think if he played top line minutes against the better stronger lines he'd be to much of a risk for injury in all likely-ness its not going to happen but i think he'd be just as good as an option as Lang or Bert if we were looking for some more scoring

I dont think holland made a mistake they were playing a guy with size and with homer not getting any younger i can see why they played him they were hoping that he could continue to develop his game obvously he didnt pan out like they had wished Koko only really played to full seasons his first was a 1 game stint then he played for 26 games the next Not everyone can come out the gate as soon as they get here look at Homer so to sit there and say that koko was a mistake is really unjust you forget the Wings are loyal to there players they arnt going to sit there and say you suck get the hell out you never know what can happen season to season both Lils and Lebda played better then they did last year and in Lils case he was playing quite a bit better the ironic thing is that there is a chance that some of these ppl now who are glad to see him go if he does have a breakout year they will turn around and say WTF Holland should have kept him And i want to know who was he taking a roster spot from? Helm (besides last year they wanted him getting top minutes to develop more so he stayed in the AHL) Not Abby either sorry To get to the wings unless your a rare exception you put your dues in by playing in the AHL koko did that and they gave him a chance now its gonna be helms turn he put his dues in now he gets a chance same with E. Give me Hossa over Heatley IMO if im the Sens GM and Detroit came knocking id ask for their 1st round pick, The Mule (fairly low cap hit for a 30g guy), Helm, Big E (both have proven they are NHL ready and they are cheap) and McCollum or Larsson (seeing as Ott has no goalies)

1. we dont need any more centers we have pleny 2. sykora WAS a sniper if he was that good of a scorer he wouldnt have been benched 3. we dont want heatley if you hate hossa you will really hate Heatley less defense and a bigger ego 4. we dont need help winning faceoffs we are already on the the best faceoff teams 5. Hossa at 4 > then heatley at 7.5 and then add in the fact that they would want a good number of prospects NTY If im the sens GM and the wings did want heatley id ask for their 1st rounder, Helm, Big E and either McCollum or Larsson
