I'd be on board with maybe signing him to a two-way deal using him as a call-up forward if we need one during the season I can't see him making the Red Wings roster but he could add some depth to the Griffins roster and if he does well enough maybe he gets more time in the NHL. I'd be on board if the Wings could make it work without sacrificing what we have now.

Saw this yesterday, just horrible news. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family and the entire Jets Organization.

I'll be the mean and evil one. I can't deny that Crosby is a great player but I hope he doesn't ever play again. Thank who is gonna be Bettman's little baby boy and the face of the NHL. I'm sorry but I HATE Crosby. I hate the fact that I live in Michigan and whenever I go into a hockey shop or a sports store the only Reebok Hockey Stick has Crosby's name and number on it; like he is the only player in the NHL that uses Rebook equipment and can endorse for Reebok. I know that's Reebok's thing and has nothing to do with Crosby playing but I think back to the 09 Cup Finals and listening to my local sports radio show and all anyone could talk about was Crosby not even the rest of the Penguins squad just Crosby and his tremendous skills. Everytime I think of 09 I get sick, and I feel I always will. It's as if he is the ultimate Hockey God and I just can't stand to hear about it and even if he doesn't play we'll still hear all the NHL talk about him not playing but for me it's better than hearing about him being the NHL's hero and all the other crap they can come up with to make Sidney Crosby into Superman. So I hope he NEVER plays again.

Sorry all I got out of that was blah blah blah blah. Why would we have any interest in Hemsky right now. I've said it numerous times already our team is pretty much set and even Kenny Holland has basically stated the same thing. I know this is just a rumor article but anyone outside of Detroit or outside of Michigan shouldn't even write about them. If you don't live in the same state than don't write about a different states team becasue you have no clue what you're talking about becasue you're not here and know for sure what's going on. Why would we trade Helm or anyone at this point in of any decent value right now for Hemsky?? I'm not gonna deny his skills; he's a pretty solid player I just don't see us going for any deal right now. Kronwall and a draft pick WTF. If Wings wanted Hemsky it wouldn't be for Kronwall and it definetly wouldn't be for him and a draft pick. Kenny wants cap space for the deadline and only Hudler's name can really be brought up for a trade and I can't see that it would be for Hemsky. Perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about but I just can't see something like that happening. This guy is a bonified idiot.

Datsyuk and Zetterberg will compile over 150+ Points this season together Franzen will be a 40+ Goal Scorer Abdelkader will get over 25 Points Ericsson will learn to use his body more and improve his defensive skills and prove that he belongs on this roster. Emmerton and Mursak will both have spots on the Red Wings team by the Playoffs White and Commodore will both have breakout seasons on D for the Wings Lidstrom will be our best player once again all season Howard will have 5 shutouts this season and lower is GAA The Detroit Red Wings will make it to the Western Conference Finals See I told you I suck at this but I just really wanted to try. We'll see. Go Red Wings!!

I'll definetly be there so that sounds great I'd love to meet you. I'll keep my eyes open for someone with a dog. Only one month today from the start of the NHL Prospects Camp!! I' can't wait I'm very excited!! I've been watching old hockey tapes of games and such that I've taped over the years to help get me through the summer.

This is the first day of the NHL Prospect Tournament in Travese City so I won't be attending a different Hockeyfest in the form of some actual games. Can't wait for the NHL Prospect Tournament. Hockeyfest looks fun but I'd rather been in TC watching some hockey!!

I voted for the Wings now up to 12 but the Blackhawks have 18. Keep it up Wings fans we can pass Chicago!!

I'm not going to deny that they are a great team and I can see a cup in their future but not next season. They may have been able to beat us two year in a row in the playoffs but look at how they lost both series in the West Finals. In 10 to Chicago and 11 to Vacouver they basically flat-lined IMO both series. They don't have what it takes right now to make it to the SCF. Plus I can't see how everyone is still bashing on our young kids. I know everyone has a right to their own opnion but Helm and Abs have not been up with the Wings long enough to make any major pushes. They are both good young quality players and I think in another season or so they will start to prove it.

Pare is a good young prospect with a lot of potential and it's definetly a good thing the Wings were able to re-sign him. He adds a lot of depth and hopefully can be a call-up this season. Great Signing Wings!!

It would have been great to pick him up last season like we wanted to but thanks to an Idiot GM Named Garth Snow that wasn't a possibility. If he wants to get back in the NHL I guess this is the way he's going to have to do it. Maybe he can try to get traded to a decent team. I have not douts that the Isles will be a better team in the coming years but as of right now they aren't exactly a power-house team but I hope Nabby can have a good rest of his NHL Career.

I know this is a long ways off and maybe we shouldn't worry about it right now but I was looking on capgeek.com and I saw that after the 12/13 Season the Wings have no goalies signed as Howard and MacDonald are both UFA's and McCollum and Pearce are both RFA's after that season and of course Conks is only signed for this coming season. So what does that mean or what do you think that means? Will the Wings re-sign Howard and go with one of our guys in GR or do we maybe see Howard leave the Wings and the Wings sing maybe McCollum as our starter if he's ready as our number one goalie and bring in someone to be his back up. What do you think will happen and what would you like to see happen? Me personally I would LOVE to see Howard be our starter and McCollum be our back-up and maybe just have both of them split the games if they are up to in and not really have a starter or back-up but have both Goalies play an equal share of the season unless of course one is better than the other. Anyone else care to weigh in?

I agree I don't see any problem with Howard re-signing in Two Years. It's just something I was looking at one day and thought it would be an interesting topic to discuss. Didn't mean for it to turn into a big Joke. I know it's quite a ways off but I just felt it was interesting enough to bring here. I know the Wings will be fine and sign the necessary goalies to get the job done.

I'm not really sure on the exact number but if you've ever been to camp there is alot of players they usually have about 4 teams worth of players (with about 3 maybe 4 lines worth of players on each team) and of course that does consist a lot of players already in the organization or with an Affliate. I'd love to know if there is an exact number, what I'll do is look back at my Training Camp Programs that have the roster(s) in them and I'll see if there is a certain number. Sticking with what I said I'd rather just see us go with what we have right now and save what cap space we have for next season or a deadline deal.

I can't see Holland adding anyone else besides Emmerton at the start of camp, and that's for the best. Emmerton's waited a long time and developed very well so he deserves a shot on the Wings Roster. So I can't see Kenny really signing anyone at the start of camp. They'll invite all the Wings and Griffins roster and probably a couple Toledo players and whoever else they want besides keepeing their prospects at Training Camp from the Prospect Camp. I don't know if he can invite anyone outside the organization such as a ufa or if we'd even want to at this point, it's best to just go with what we have.

I'm not saying I'm really all that worried about this. I know the Wings will work this out way before the time comes I just threw this topic out for something to discuss.

Well so far I have to say I agree with all of you. Let's keep the contracts short for goalies on this team. Make our goalies earn their spot on the roster. I think Howard as long as he continues to play this way and improve he will be our goalie of the future and have a long career here in Detroit. I'd love to see McCollum be up if he can improve and continue to develop his game. Let's not forget he was a Round 1 Draft pick in 08, granted it was the 30th and last pick in the 1st round but he was still drafted in the 1st round and I think in time he will deserve a shot in the NHL with the Wings as long as he can improve his game a grow into the type of goalie we are going to need. My next question is should the Wings start looking at drafting another goalie here in the next draft or so? Maybe not necessarily a Round 1 goalie but a goalie that the Wings can spend a long time bringing up but able to come in when needed. Sure I don't mind seeing the Wings sign Reliable veteran goalies from other teams come in a be our back-up but I'd really love to see this team bring players up instead of bringing players in. The Wings are going to have plenty of bringing players in from other teams with our forwards and defensemen in the coming years as we see a sort of changing of the gaurds in our skaters. I'd rather see the Wings be able to build from with-in when it comes to their goalies, if of course that is what's best for the team.

Another good decision by our older guys. Kris has been great for this team for a long time, he's been a big part of our 4 most recent Cups. I'll never forget the goal he scored in OT in Game 2 of the 98 Cup Finals Vs Washington. It's his time to hang them up. We can't afford to keep losing good young prospects without giving them a shot in the NHL. Emmerton deserves a shot and I think he will do well. Best of Luck Drapes.

I don't think we would have won in 02 with Ozzie in net. Hasek had way more desire to win the Cup at that time than Ozzie did, being that Hasek had never won a cup before. In 01 if I remember correctly the Wings were kinda going through a rough patch especially in the playoffs having a 2-0 Series Lead Vs LA and haveing a 2-0 Lead in Game 3 of that series and than losing that game and three more games after it to be knocked out by the Kings. The team needed a revamp and all of those elements had to take place for the team to win. The Golden Brett, Lucky Luc, and the Dominator all had to come in for that team to do what it was built to do. Ozzie needed a revamp to and I think what helped make him even better was the fact that he wasn't behind a rock solid defense in NYI or St. Louis like he was in Detroit and that he had to learn to elevate his game and be a better goalie for those types of teams to win. He had to be the one to steal some games and come up with som great saves and I think in the end it helped him come back to Detroit and win another Cup in 08 with the Wings. So as much as I love Ozzie I don't think the Wings would have won in 02 if Ozzie was our goalie.

Whether Addiction is overused or if it's even the right term but I have to say I'm very addicted to the Wings, and I'm proud of it. I'm a die-hard Wings fan and a die-hard Hockey fan. Yes I crave info about My Team and all of hockey all the time even in the dead of July. The Wings are my team and I'll be addicted if I want and I'm just fine with it lol. GO RED WINGS!!!!

Jimmy is a good young goalie. He has a ton of potential for the coming seasons. As for his past two seasons up in Detroit I've been very pleased with his performance. He's made some great saves and has really stold some games for us which is what goalies need to be able to do sometimes. Sure he's let in a few iffy goals but so has Patrick Roy or Terry Sawchuck <--(Not that I actually know from seeing him) all goalies give up questionable goals at some point. What's really good is that he hasn't let the bad goals rattle him or any goals by that matter. He stays strong and true to his form he has confidence in himself and his team has confidence in him. Wings took a long time in developing him so I have to believe they know what they are doing by keeping him on the roster as our Number 1 goalie instead of letting him go like Detroit has done with so many good young players in the past. Sure there's room for improvement but that's true for everyone on every team. He has the age on his side and Jim Bedard is a great goalie coach, I always watch Bedard coaching the goalies at Training Camp and he is a great goalie coach and Jimmy will just continue to get better under him. Ozzie's still going to be around so he'll be able to help Jimmy as well. Give the guy some time he will get better but he's doing just fine right now. We always seem to have people on here that have always questioned our Goaltending but it's always been fairly solid and Detroit's goaltending as of the past 11 or 12 years has helped bring this team 4 Stanley Cups so I'm fully confident in it as I am with Jimmy. He should only get better from here on out and I can't wait to see when HE helps lead us to another Stanley Cup Championship.

Hudler, simply becasue of the fact that he is younger and can improve and be very useful even though I don't really think he did this past season. With Draper he may be able to improve but for one more season I'd rather have Huds becasue of his longevity and ablity to be in the league longer to improve. Drapes if he is re-signed (which I don't think he should be) he's kind of one and done season for him.
