Yeah Florida was my first thought too. Could be just the thing a team needs to get on a winning path. -
2010-2011 Central Hockey League Champions

That's very true, I don't know what the problem is as to why they are ceasing operations my feeling was it was a financial thing becasue on their site they made it sould like they were in a frantic effort to sell a certain amount of Season Tickets and when they didn't sell enough they put on their site that they were shutting down shop so that is the only reason that thought it might be a financial issue. If it's a venue or city thing than no switching to the USHL won't really do a whole lot of good but if it were a financial thing they might be able to save money and still keep going as a team if they didn't have to pay their players. I certainly hope that the Central Hockey League isn't shutting down completley but I do see that Bossier is gone along with Colorado and Quad City and Odessa has gone to the North American Hockey League which is another American Based Junior League so I do feel something may be up but that would be horrible if that did happen and that would really weaken Minor-Pro Hockey here in the US, at least I think so. There needs to be a league that players can go to if they aren't good enough to play in the ECHL, AHL, or NHL and if they are too old for any Junior League. I know that once Muskegon went from Pro to Junior most of the players that still had some hockey left in them went to Italy and a couple other European Countries but I don't think that would be good for Hockey here in America. Not much I can do about it either way but I certainly hope that the CHL isn't closing too. -
Well I was going to but the voting is already closed and he lost. Damn.

I like Paul MacLean a lot so I hope he stays. He was the head coach of the Quad City Mallards back when they were in the UHL the Mallards were the Arch Rival of my hometown team the Muskegon Fury. I remember the year we won our second Colonial Cup Championship in 02 after eliminating the Mallards in Game 7 in Quad City to put us in the Finals MacLean came into the Muskegon Lockeroom and gave a very motivating speech to the Muskegon Fury at least that is what I heard from my local paper and every since I read that MacLean has held a special place in my heart. Every year at Training Camp I always yell Go Mallards or Go Quad City and that always gets some type of response out of him. I'm looking forward to being able to do that again. If he does go I wish him the best of luck but I hope he doesn't.

Very true if you're going to go out it may as well be as the Champs. I just e-mailed the team to discuss the possibility of instead of ceasing operations maybe going into the USHL or another Junior League in which the players do not get payed therefore making all ticket or merchandise sales profitable to the team. The team I follow that was in the IHL last season the Muskegon Lumberjacks went to the USHL this season and I think the team is doing better now at least they haven't shut down shop so maybe it will be a possibility. I don't know If I'll get a response but well see. -

I'm a huge Minor League fan like I've said on this thread earlier I follow all the hockey I can that way when it gets to be this time of the year and hockey season is getting over I follow teams to stay involved in hockey and to try to keep up on all the Hockey I can. In the NHL during the off-season I only have about 3 days to look forward to. The Draft Weekend and July 1st when the Free Agent Market opens up. If I follow minor and junior league hockey I get to hear new news almost every week that that excites me a lot and gets me even more primed up for the coming season(s). I've never been to any Hockey games in Louisiana. I would have loved to be able to but now that I live in Michigan I haven't been back down to Louisiana since I moved and I ceartainly can't afford to go down just for a couple hockey games but being that Louisiana is my Birth State it still holds a special place in my heart and having my favorite sport down there means a lot to me. I know that a lot of the Southern States don't really get much hockey becasue of the Fan Base and the type of people that are down there are used to the heat and aren't really hockey oriented but I do encourage anyone and everyone who is interested to get to games and show your support especially for reasons like this you never know in Minor or Junior League Hockey when you team could shut down shop and you may or may not ever see them again. I'd never try to force hockey on anyone but it is a great sport and I hate seein any and all teams shut down becasue I believe it weakens the sport and to me that is a horrible thing. This sport really needs to grow in the US and it can't do that when teams shut down. I hope I do get to see the MudBugs play again one day even if it meant going into a lower league but if I don't it has been a great ride for the team and I wish the best to the entire organization whereever they go from here. I remember The Fort Worth Brahmas they were a great team in the CHL with the MudBugs it's just a shame teams have to shut down for whatever reason. Yep now we are back down to just one team in Louisiana. Major Bummer. -
I'd be up for trading Hudler but I'm not quite sure that there is anyone on the Flyers Roster that I would really want. Carter included. Let the Flyers and Pathers trade with each other let's go after someone a little bit better and maybe even a little bit younger. Trade Huds for a 2nd or 3rd round pick and have our First round pick be a high quality D-Man even if it meant us trading 2 2nd Round picks for a Higher 1st round Pick to get someone who could help us now.

After Wiinning the CHL Chamionship this season the MudBugs have ceased Operations. I didn't realize how bad off they were financially until after the Finals were over. Needless to say I'm crushed. This really hurts. ALOT. -
Hopefully the Sens will take it in Six!! Go Binghamton!!
-
I wanted as many people I could get rooting for the MudBugs to take the Central Hockey League Championship and it worked so I will get behind you and the Sens in high hopes they capture the 2011 AHL Calder Cup Championship!! Go Sens!!

I'd say no more than $1 Mil. I look at how he played in 08 in the playoffs and how he played this past season, now I know age can be a factor along with other things but I don't feel he's worth any more than just a million. Even that could be used to go after a better player. He's been good but he hasn't played I don't think up to his ability. I think there are a lot of things the Wings are going to have to look at this off-season and they have to decide who is going to fit on this roster to make a team that can make a much more solid run at the Cup next season. This coming season could be a real test for the Wings and Hudler may or may not be a part of this picture. I just want to see my team do well with the very best players they can get. If Hudler is one of those players than fine but he hasn't really reflected it this past season so I don't see him being worth a whole lot.
-
It was a Great Season!! The team always puts out a quality effort every season and they did it again this season. I really wish we could have taken the Cup but it just wasn't meant to be. I've already started the Countdown to well at least the NHL Prospect Tournament in Traverse City 103 Days. I think it's like 108 to the Red Wings Training Camp. See ya next season Red Wings!!

Yeah I saw it, I think it looks pretty cool. Thats one thing I like about Minor League Hockey is the Logos can change. I mean it's great to have a firm base like NHL Teams and all but it is kinda neat to see teams keep it fresh with new colors and schemes. -
It's not a great idea but maybe start a Petition, I'd sign it.

Yeah I followed all the Louisiana Teams from the WPHL and ECHL. Bosser-Shreveport, Alexandria, Lake Charles, Monroe, Louisiana, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans. It's a shame it had to go from 7 teams down to only two and for a while it was only one (The MudBugs) until the Ice Gators came back even if they are in a lower league now. Hopefully one day soon I can celebrate a SPHL Championship in Louisiana!! -

Well that's pretty good. NHL, OHL and even some AHL that's more than just following the Red Wings. I get what you mean about not really having time to get more in depth with Hockey. If I was still working I probably would be in the same boat. The biggest reason I do it is to really have something to do during the summer that involves hockey. I mean over the years I've taped games and highlights throughout the season's and I will watch them but it's mostly NHL stuff. I love being able to find minor league games on the TV which I have found a few but not many. But that is the biggest reason I follow so many leagues and it is just over the interent too is to just stay engrossed in hockey throughout the Entire Year. I find it very weird and I kind a feel like a Bandwagon Fan but since Fridaynight after the game I keep saying We've got the Cup as if the Wings or another Michigan Team got the Cup especially since I've never been to a MudBugs game but I keep saying We've Got The Cup, with a big smile on my face Lol. -

Ah the RiverKings while I don't like them but I do respect them they are a good team. That's cool that you have a MudBugs Banner VM the only merchandise I have of the MudBugs is a Puck. I've been meaning to get a Jersey but I just kept putting it off now I have to wait until I find another job. I follow as much hockey as I can it helps me stay up on everything. I follow all Pro Leagues and a few Junior Leagues. It really helps pass the time during the Summer since I hate the Summer. If you ever feel you need a shot of hockey during the summer just go to a few of the league web sites and catch up on what is happeing and what changes are coming up for next season for that league. It help when I pick at least one team in every league and I follow them throught the year(s). Go MudBugs!! -

Ass Pirates!?!? LOL Yeah I remember my Southern Accent and yeah that is probably what if would have sounded like if I were a fan of them down there. Evilmrt: SunDogs is actually a pretty cool name in my opnion. It not exactlly what I would call a Hockey name but it is better than a lot of the ones I've heard of like the Macon Whooppe. If there is anything you can be happy about in losing in the playoffs you at least get the small satisfaction that your team was knocked out by the Champs. That's the way I look at it sometimes when my teams lose in the playoffs. Thanks for the Congrats!! I just wish I was down in Louisiana today becasue their Championship Celebration is today from 2-4. Go MudBugs!! -

The IceGators are the other Louisiana Team. Yeah I agree it is definetly a brutal Logo. It's not great logo or name but for the area of the state it is fitting. I actually have a IceGators Jersey. Now I have to get a MudBugs Jersey. I've never really thought of Louisiana as much of a hockey state and it's kinda proven with some of these logos. See if you can find the following teams Logos and check them out. These are all defunt teams: Alexandria Wharthogs, Monroe Moccasins, Lake Charles Ice Pirates, New Orleand Brass and Baton Rouge KingFish. Way To Go MudBugs!!!! -

I didn't get to watch the game. All I did was keep checking the CHL's Website Scoreboard. I've never seen a game live because no I don't still live in Louisiana I moved up here to Michigan in 95 and the team wasn't around than. I've been following them just through their website's. I visit a bunch of team and league websites all year long to keep up on as much Hockey as I can. So I follow my teams only by their websites. If you go to youtube you can see some small clips of highlight goals and fights. Thank you very much for understanding why I would want to post this. Game 7's for me is torture plus they were in Colorado for Game 7. See in this series Colorado had home ice advantage and they did 2 games in Colorado 3 in Shreveport and 2 in Colorado. The MudBugs had a 3-2 Series lead when they went back to Colorado for Games 6 and 7 in Game 6 the Eagles swamped the MudBugs 8-1 so I was very nervous checking the game's score every few minutes. It was 2-0 through most of the game when Colorado Pulled their goalie and the MudBugs got a Penalty and they scored and broke the shutout but the MudBugs were still able to hang on and Win!! Yeah I do like the name MudBugs it is very fitting for a team in Louisiana since Crawfish which is another word for MudBugs is really a popular Cajun Food down south, so yea the name MudBugs is pretty cool but very fitting for the state. -
SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks
Dimaline312000 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Well I'm certainly rooting for Boston for two main reasons. 1 They are an Orginal Six Team. 2. I can't stand Canadian Teams. With that being said I do think that Vancouver will win. I hope it's a good long series but I just feel that The Canucks have to much firepower and depth on the roster that it will just take over at some point and smother the Bruins. I'm excited to see a Goalie Match-up like Louie and Timmy that one should be good but in the end I think I will have to accept that a Canadain Team is going to Win the Cup this season. Best of Luck to both teams but.... Go Bruins!!!! -
That's one of the days that Training Camp got extended to. I'm hoping to be at Camp that day because the team is going to skate in Traverse City before the game.

Ken Holland: Open to trade to replace Rafalski

I don't know how realistic this is but here is my top picks for Defensemen on the market in July or by draft: Doughty, Schenn, Alzner, and Bogosian. All good young d-men now I'm sure that most of the teams are going to want to hang on to most if not all of these players but they are my tip 4 picks on D I'd like to have in Detroit.
