Major bummer I was hoping he would be ready for the playoffs. Hope he can get back ASAP.

He shouldn't not unless Duncan Keith is going to face discipline for his High Stick on Franzen.

If MacDonald is a capable back up than I say let's give him a chance. Understand I'm not trying to dis on Ozzie at all but this organization at some point is going to have to get a little younger. Can you honestly say that you know Yzerman would keep Ozzie on if he were GM of Detroit? I know I can't say that Yzerman wouldn't keep him on and I think that is what sepereates us a fans from people who know what they are doing within the organiztion. I will support the Wings no matter what. Eventually Players like Mursak, Emmerton, and Kolosov are either going to have to come up or ship out. We aren't always going to have players like Lidd, Holmsy and Ozzie. I think the Wings do need to start planning for the future and give these young guys a shot at the NHL. They can't get the experince until they give them a chance. You can develop a player in a lower league for years and years but until they step into the higher league they are always going to be lower league players. It's tim after this season for the Wings to start looking at our youth and as much as I hate to say it the Wings may haveto re-build in a sense in another season or so depending on how long our older guys stay on. If Ozzie can come back and continue to be effective and a strong goalie than I'm all for that but he can't play forever and the Wings should start looking in the AHL for help in the coming seasons.

Kinda figured that this was probably going to be his last season. I hope the Wings can make it a little deeper than they did last season but I guess we'll see what happens. No matter what Mike has had a great career and he has lifted the Cup before so he's been a great player. Nice work big Mo!! Let's Go Red Wings!!

I'm a huge Ozzie fan but not sure about this. He's been injured through most of this season and he isn't getting any younger. I realize the Wings don't really have a strong back-up for Jimmy yet but is Ozzie coming back really the best thing for this team. I personally think the Wings need to start getting younger in the coming years/seasons. We need to start bringin up of players from the Griffins and giving them a chance at the big show. McDonald played petty good this season and he could possibly be Jimmy's back up for a season. I love Ozzie but I don't want him to turn into another Hasek and stay longer than he should this is a big reason why I would prefer to have had Steve Yzerman be the Wings GM over Holland. I know that Kenny has been great for this organization but I think the Wings need to star getting younger and bringing up more players that have been playing with the Griffins for longer than they should. Holland tends to favor the more experinced players and if you would have asked me about 6 or 7 years ago I would say the same thing but now I'm leaning towards our more youthful players. No matter what I will support my team the best way I can. Go Wings!!

I don't really have a prediction but I don't really want to play the Yotes again, I guess if I had to pick any team I guess I'd go with the Ducks in the first round becasue I don't like Yotes, Preds, or Hawks in 1st round.

I'd have to go with Mursak right now I think the's due to be a call up and possibly make the team next season. Possibly even Emmerton. Those are the two I'd have to go with.

Personally I would love to see the Wings keep the Hawks out of the playoffs this season. However that is going to be a very big task. I'm not saying that the Wings can't do it I certianly know that they can but Chicago is going to be fighting for their playoff lives and depending on which Red Wings team comes to play both of those games Vs the Hawks is going to go a long way in determining if Chicago is in or out. If the Wings come out hard take the lead and can keep it than they will have a great chance if the Wings team that comes out has to battle back from deficits or something like that it's going to be questionable. I definetly want to see the Wings keep the Hawks out but it is going to be a task no doubt about it. Go Wings!!

After beating the Minnesota Wild 4-1 the Detroit Red Wings have clinched the Central Division. Now I know this is almost a common thing for this team but I just wanted to mentioned this because even though it's not a Stanley Cup or anything right now I feel it is something for the Wings to build on and gain confidence going into the playoffs. For a team that has seen it's fair share of ups and downs this season being Divisional Champions is a great step forward. I'm not going to commit to any comment about what the team is going to do in the playoffs this season. Of course I want another Stanley Cup in Hockeytown after all I did just get my second Detorit Red Wings Tattoo this time on my right arm (sorry just had to say something about that) there are still a lot of things I think the team needs to improve on going into the playoffs if they are going to have a true chance to get the Cup this season. I think being Central Division Champions again is a step in the right direction and if the Wings can just get better in certain areas they will be contenders and hopefully be more than just Division Champions this season. Let's Go Red Wings!!

Wow, I'm really suprised at that. I mean I'm not really based on how their play was this season but it's hard to believe the Devils won't be in the playoffs this season. Just goes to show how much the league in my opnion is changing and getting younger and I think most teams are going to have to realize that and start adjusting if they won't to compete.

I like mostly all College sports over Pro Sports with the exception of Hockey I love all of hockey some more than others of course but you don't need 6 different sports broadcasters talking about one college team. I also hat that ESPN pushes aside Hockey over Baseball. I'm not a baseball fan at all, I used to be but not for about 12 years or so. This is the time of year that the sports channels really need to be talking about hockey with the playoffs just around the corner it get's very intersting and exciting. I know not everyone sees it that way but it really is. Go Wings!!

Forward- Steven Stamkos. Ever since he's come into this league I've been impressed with this kid and I think he will be a big part of Tampa Bay's success in the coming years. Defense- Drew Doughty. Another young kid that shows a lot of promise and potenital and I think he will help the Kings have success as well. Goalie- Ryan Miller. He's from Michigan he played for Michigan State. That's good enough for me.

I agree with that Abs should stay at Wing he seems much better suited as a Wing-man!! Nice Work Abs!!

It is pretty tough to get tickets via Fax anymore as most people go for the in person sale and buy them up rather quickly. Best advice is be there on the 16th.

I'm selling Hockey Cars these cards are just regular commons cards I'm selling by team I have a lot of different years but I believe my most recent is 09 since I've been out of the collecting game for a few years now and I'm just trying to get rid of cards and make a little money. I'm selling these cards by teams I have almost all teams except for Detroit Red Wings as I keep them. Please just name your team and I will make you a list of what I have. I have different teams from the NHL older teams like the Winnepeg Jets or newer teams like the Minnesota Wild I have all years from early 90's right up to 09 so if you are interested I will make you a list and we can try to work something out. Training Camp Tickets go on sale at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City Michigan on April 16 from 10 AM to 3 PM and than after that I'm not sure what will happen with the remaining tickets if there are any maybe a fax sale or just at the door. If you are planning on going to the in person sale I recommend getting there early, I plan to. This is a truly phenominal event to go to. I suggest any Wings fan to go to it as well as the NHL Prospect Tournament. It's underestimated because it's all rookies and prospects and not the Proven Pros but it's highly worth watching last year I believe it was $5 at the door for all the events but I'm not sure. I can't wait till the in person sale I'm even skipping my last Sled Hockey Tournment of the season to get my tickets. Should be great fun.

This coming weekend is the Mid American Great Lakes Sled Hockey League's last Tournament until Nationals in Minnesota in April. This coming weekend March 12th and 13th my team the Grand Rapids Sled Wings will be playing in our League's first Home Tournament at it is going to be at Patterson Ice Center on Patterson Avenue in Grand Rapids. The first game on Saturday is at 3 PM and there will be games all the way up unitl 9PM that night. On Sunday the first game is early in the morning at 6:45 and games all the way up until 10 AM at 11:15 will be the Alex Knapp Memorial Trophy Presentation for League Championship which I don't mean to spoil anything but it is going to the Pittsburgh Mighty Penguins Sled Hockey Team. I'd love to see any and all of you out there that can make it. If you need more info please don't hesitate to post on this thread and I will try to provide ou with any additional information I can provide. Thank you.

Another great weekend of Sled Hockey has just past. The Grand Rapids Sled Wings once again only won one game which was Vs Fort Wayne/Turnstone Flyers 9-0 Win for GR. The Pittsburgh Penguins Sled Hockey team won the first ever Mid American Great Lakes Sled Hockey League Alex Knapp Cup Championship and punched their ticket to the National Festival April 1st - 3rd. The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Michigan Sled Dogs will both be going to nationals as the top 2 teams get to go. League play is over for the season but the Sled Wings have one more Tournament close to Detroit just as a Tournament to raise awareness about sled hockey around Michigan. Unfortuneately the Grand Rapid Sled Wings Adult Team will Not be going to Nationals as we are to new and don't have the experince nor the high caliber play that is required to go to the National Disabled Festival. Thanks to everyone your support over the season. On a side note being that the Adult Sled Wings have only been around for two seasons we are in need of financial help to help play for new sled and eqipment and travel costs. Please contact the Grand Rapids Wheelchair Sports Assciation or let me know if you are able and I will put you in contact with someone who can help.
