This sucks big time. I just hope we can fill out the roster now and not lose anymore players. Glad to see the Wings get a point out of a game that looked like and easy 2 for Edmonton.

Simply put. Yes.

This is Howards first Full Season in the NHL and it's just starting so give him some time. He will develop and as he gets better he'll have better rebound control. Just give him some time.

This past off-season we lost 4 Europeans and gained a few more North American born palyers. The Wings lost Hossa, Hudler, Kopecky, and Samuelsson and we signed Bertuzzi, Williams, Eaves, Delmore and May. I know we still have quite a few Europeans on the roster from different parts of Europe but we did lose some key players. So does that make us more of a team that plays North American style of hockey or are we still the soft Europeans that everyone used to call us in years past? Also do you think that has affected our play this season and where we are early this season or does this have no effect and it's just a slow start? Thoughts, Comments, Ect...............??

Good start here everyone. I really don't think it matters where the bulk or any of our players come from. They are al good players some better than others obviously but I really don't think having more North American players than less European players is contributing to our slow start. I'm really not all that concerned with our slow start right now I mean it's just October if we are still playing this way in December or January than I think it may be time to do something. It's just going to take some time for THIS team to Jel. We're still a great hockey team. This could be a good thing in past seasons the Wings have started out great than puttered out late in the season maybe this season will be the season that turns this around. Not that I'm saying anyone is saying this but don't count us out of a possible 3rd strait Stanley Cup Final this season. We'll just have to see how it plays out. Go Wings!!

I thought Jimmy was the best player on the ice for the Wings on Saturday.

We may have lost on Saturday but it certianly wasn't Jimmy's fault at all. I thought he played ver well and actually kept us in the game at times. Nice job Jimmy, you deserved a better outcome but it wasn't to be. Let's shake it off and get ready for Luongo and the Vancouver Canucks. Let's Go Red Wings!!

I guess I would pick Lebda to go as well. I don't understand why we sign a player like Eaves only to scratch him for every game. I'm not saying the Wings absolutley need a trade right now but we need to give some other players a chance to play and see what they can do.

I'm sorry maybe it's just me and maybe I'm an idiot but I never would have signed Eaves, Williams, Bertuzzi or Delmore. About the only UFA I would have signed is maybe Brad May. Just as a part-time enforcer. I personally would have gone for someone bigger. But that's just me.

Great to see Ozzie up there. I just hope we can't stop this bleeding before it gets to bad. I mean blowing a 2 goal lead in the Thrid even though Colorado is doing awesome this season. There is no call for blowing that type of lead in the 3rd.

I'm really happy to see Nick get this accomplishment but I'm even more happy he was able to celebrate it at home with the fans. Glad I was able to tape it too. Way to Go Nick!!

I agree, give the team some time. We're only 5 games into the Regular season. Let's wait atleast 20 games and maybe longer before all this stuff is brought up. Have confidence in the Wings they will get their act together.

It's just the begining of the season it may take a little longer for this team to get on a roll. I think they will find their grove in time and play great hockey again. 2-3-0 really isn't all that bad right now. It's definetly not great but it's been worse before. Give this team some time. I firmly believe we'll make the playoffs, I hope we win the Cup but it's only October and the Wings can't be Champs every year. We have a great team I don't think we had the team like we had in 08 when we did win the Cup and we definetly don't have last season's team either. We don't have to prove anything... I want the Cup every year in Detroit but it's not going to happen. This is the problem, the past 3 seasons we've done so good that we are starting to expect greatness. You can't expect greatness every season. We may need any early playoff exit to knock us fans down a few pegs and not expect greatnees. My motto has always been Expect the Worst and Hope for the Best.

I've got to go with Tatar or McCollum. Watching Tatar at the Prospects Tournament I really felt that if they gave a way an MVP for that it would have went to him. He was great there. McCollum I firmly believe will be the Goalie of the future for the Wings. Once Ozzie is done and as long as Tom continues to develop well I think he will be a crucial part of the Wings roster. Both of these kids show a lot of promise and I'm excited to see what's to come for both of them. I hope they both make the NHL and more importantly I hope they both make the Wings roster in the come years.

Ditto. But if it has to be active players. than.... 1. Fedorov- Will probably score goals until he's in his grave. Maybe not as many but he can score. 2. Qunicey- I got his autorgraph at the 08 Training Camp.... lol. 3. Lang- I just like his style of play and thought he was a real hard worker for the Wings.

It's never a good thing to lose a big name player like Franzen but I think you hit a good point it will make everyone work a little hard to not have so many goals scored against. If we can't get the goals for than hopefully we can limint the goals against. This opens a huge door for Abdelkader as well. This is truly his time to shine and even if the Mule comes back and Abs is sent back down. This could pave his way firmly onto make the Wings roster next season or throughout the entire playoffs this season.

This is a huge blow to the Wings. We are going to need to find some goals somwhere else. Hopefully we'll be able to find them ASAP.

Awesome. I'm excited for him. I think he'll make a great addition to the roster(s).
