    How many games for Ozzie?

I'll say 50+ Games. I think alot has to depend on how Jimmy does. Actually starting I'd have to say a good over 50 games but he may get more playing time if Howard isn't up to the task. I think Jimmy Howard will be up for it and will do well as Osgood's back-up but I'm sure Ozzie will play most of the games. One thing is for sure he can't go back to they way he was for most of the season being a slacker and not playing to his full potential. If he does that than it could cost us big time.

    Anyone still depressed

The pain that I feel will ALWAYS be around. Even if Detroit won the next 5 Cups in a row it wouldn't make me feel better about the last game. It's now a permanent scar on my heart, you can't get to Game 7 for the Cup and only be 2 goals away from Winning it in Back To Back Situations and not get it done and not have it effect you long-term ( or me in my case). It's something I'll always think about I still think about it at least once a day. I'm excited for the new season coming but the pain will never go away for me. So yes I'm still depressed. I'm depressed for last season but excited and hopeful for the coming season. The Fire Still Burns!!

    Osgood.

Ozzie is a great goalie and yes he is a great playoff goalie. He's always known to step it up at the right time in the playoffs if we had won the Cup this season I would have said that the Conn Smythe would have had to go to Ozzie, he's a great goalie and I'm sure glad he's on the Wings roster.

    Does 'C' Stand for Crosby?

With so many great players on Team Canada I don't think that Crosby deserves to be the Captain not with all of the other Great Established players on that team. Maybe in time he can wear the C but not this Olympics

    KHL After McCarty

Mac was a great player for us there's no doubt but I think his time in the NHL is done, if he can go and play more and make a little more money I wish him the best. He wasn't going to get a contract with the Wings and probably wasn't going to get a contract in the NHL so if he still wants to play and can play than I say let him go to the KHL and see what he can do.

    Will YOU play this season?

Speaking of lifting and working out, I'm gonna take this one step further. For those of you who do play hockey what type of training and conditioning do you do to prepare yourself for your playing season?? I spend at least 1 hour at the gym 6 out of 7 days. Usually it's more like and hour and a half to 2 and a half hours but it just depends on when I get there and how I feel. I my routine usually is one day of working on nothing but Cardio spending 20 to 30 minutes on the Tread Mill, 20-30 on the reclining stationary bike and about another 20-30 minutes on a regular stationary bike. Than the next day I work on nothing but upper body. However I always do a 20 Minute Cardio warm up and a 20 minute cardio cool down but when I work on upper body I work on arms and abs. Than the next day I work on lower body doing leg training. I just try to keep that same routine going every day that I go if work gets in the way than I adjust the way I need to but I have a treadmill in my basement and some free weights, barbel weights, an Ab Lounge and a punching bag, and a speed bag as well that I will use if I can't get to the gym. On most days I'm on a below 2,000 calorie diet but on the Upper body work-out days I try to pack as much protein as I can at least what I'm supposed to have for my body weight. Just to help build muscle I will admit I don't have the 6-Pack abs but I do have a pretty strong core. I was in two forms of Karate a few years ago so I sometimes practice my karate and that can give me a good work-out as well. I try to do it as much as possible without taking to many days off that way I'm still in as good of shape as I can be whenever I want to play Street or Ice Hockey. What all do you do to stay in shape for playing hockey??

    McCarty likely to retire

Didn't he do some Radio broadcasts with Ken Kal this past season? I think I remember driving home from and IHL game a few times to turn the Wings on and hear him broadcast a few Wings games. Maybe he could get into that, he wasn't all that bad. Maybe he can find a position with the Wings in the front office or an on ice consultant or something. Best of luck Mac!!

    Will YOU play this season?

As a matter of fact I was born with a heat condition, a back problem (curved spine) and a few feet problems I've had over 20 surgeries on heart, back and leg all togehter which impairs my ability to play full fledge regular hockey which is why I play goalie. I have never learned how to skate but teams have allowed me to play goal in shoes in Inline Hockey and winter boots in Ice Hockey. That is why I'm going to play sled hockey this season. Just so I can get into organized hockey again. Yes I'd much rather use my legs and my entire body and if th Sled Hockey thing doesn't work out I'll play some other kind of special hockey with USA Hockey. I can understand how you may think Sledge hockey can be frustrating but it does look interesting and I've heard nothing but good things so far from the people I've talked to that have acutally played in or watched it for years.

    Will YOU play this season?

I've played recreation hockey for years both Roller and Ice Hockey. For two summers I was goalie for a local hockey club. Both seasons/summers I finished the regular season with a 2.00 GAA and an about 90 Save % with 4 shutouts the first summer and 6 the next. Won league/club championships both seasons. My uncle puts a rink up in his back yard every Winter and a group of guys and I play about 30 games as a Regular season than we have a 1 or 2 series playoff which since we've been doing this I've been on the Championship team 8 Times but we played for over 12 to 15 years This year I'll be playing Sled Hockey for USA Hockey in Grand Rapids. I'm real excited about that. So I plan on playing this season.

Which Team Has a Better Chance of Making it Back to the Finals?

I would have to go with the Wings. The have more experience and I think they can handle the pressure of something like that better than the Pens could. The East is getting stronger and the Pens won't be able to handle some teams like they did this past season. There are so many great teams in the league and so many just in the East. I look for Tampa to do well this season as well as the obvious teams like Boston, Washington, New Jersey, Philly, and a few other teams that are going to be hungry this season to take a bite out of the Champs. Wings, although have lost a lot of good talented/skilled players have done a pretty good job at replacing them. Not saying any of those guys that we've signed are that great but 2 out of the three are former Wings and know the system and can hopefully jump back into the system and compete in it well. Wing just have a better stronger core of players that know how to win and can get back deep into the playoffs.

    Wings sign Todd Bertuzzi

I guess I'm gonna jump on the band-wagon and get behind Bertuzzi. I still don't like what he did to Moore but he is a Detroit Red Wing again and I support the Wings to the end so I support Todd Bertuzzi as well. Welcome back Bert!!!!

Did you go see the Cup?

Saw yesterday on the News and in the Newspaper that Grand Haven Native Day Bylsma the Head Coach of the 2009 Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins (God it killed me to say that) brought the Stanley Cup home to Grand Haven for his Day with Stanley. I was just wondering if any of you on here went to see it? I sure didn't of course, I'm somewhat happy for Dan being that he is from Michigan and all but I would have loved to have seen Abdelkader bring it back to Mona Shores/ Muskegon a hell of a lot more. Thoughts, comments, complaints...... etc.......

*If* Jimmy Howard Doesn't Work Out

I'm not so much concerned about if Jimmy Howard is going to work out or not. If Kenny Holland didn't think that Howard was ready to be an NHL Back-Up goalie I think he would have pulled the plug on him and let him go and maybe kept Conklin until Larsson or McCollum were able to come up. My biggest quesiton is how long will Howard be with the Wings? Once Ozzie retires depending on how his development goes I think McCollum will be the Wings goalie of the Future. Is Howie going to want to be a back-up for his entire career or will he get a chance to be a starting goalie with Detroit in a few years? If he doesn't get a chance to be a starter and thinks that he can how long will he be happy in Detroit? That's the biggest question for me; not so much will he be an ok back-up for Ozzie this season.

Did you go see the Cup?

It's not that I have a problem wit Dan Bylsma, it's nothing personal I just didn't like the way the Finals were played out. Maybe I am a sore loser but I don't believe the Pens didn't have some League/Bettman help this past Playoffs.

    The Bertuzzi & Moore incident

Please don't bring back Bertuzzi, if you wanted an enforcer you should have kept Downey. I realize Bertuzzi is a little more than just and enforcer but come on we don't need a head hunter.

    Team Canada's 2010 Jerseys Leaked

Those are pretty cool. I wonder if USA is going to do anything Unique with their jerseys for the Olympics. I also can't wait to see my jersey for my up-coming Sled Hockey season with USA Hockey.

*If* Jimmy Howard Doesn't Work Out

If Howard doesn't work out I can see Holland bringing in Vet back-up goalie. Not sure who we could get and when it would happen but if I were Holland I would want to stop the bleeding as quick as possible so I think that Kenny will know about Howard within a the first couple of months of the regular season. I don't think Kenny will bring up Larsson or McCollum yet, they both need more development so I think the only option would be to bring in a Vet back-up. Hopefully we are all just saying what if here. We need to give Howard a chance before we start speculating what we may or may not need to do.

    Camp Invitees

That would be great to see Alex Lamontange at Camp. Hopefully he'll get an invite, we'll see. There's still a lot of time to go before camp so we may see a lot of lower level players in TC.

Did you go see the Cup?

Don't be sorry, I couldn't agree more about what you said. I still don't believe the Pens earned that Cup. I'm sorry for posting this topic. It's just I was reading the article about over 1,000 people showed up to Congratulate Bylsma and kiss his ass and all of that. I'm sure that Dan Bylsma is a nice guy and this is not an attack on him in any way. I just wanted to know if anyone would jump on the bandwagon just because the Cup is in the state. I had a feeling most of you would feel this way but I still wanted to know. Call it jealousy or bitterness or whatever you want to call it but I really don't believe that Dany Bylsma or the Pittsburgh Penguins will repeat as Champions...... However if any team is going to do it in this post Cap era it wouldn't suprise me that Little Boy Crosby sucks Bettmans dick enough to become the first Back to Back Champions since the Wings in 97/98.

    Camp Invitees

It woldn't suprise me if they brought in a couple of IHLers from like Flint or Port Huron or maybe even Muskegon. They've done that the past few years. Last year it was Port Huron Ice Hawks Goaltender Larry Sterling and I think the year before that was Robin Big Snake which is going to pay for Muskegon this season but I'm not sure who he was with in 07 when he was at camp. I'm not saying that they will definetly invite players like that but don't be shocked if they invite a couple to a few of the lower level players up just to give them a look. Not that they would be too serious of contenders of making the roster but than again you never know.
