Your best moment this past season

Thank you, yes you are very right it was 6-4 that my bad. Yes the players really played well in that game and made it very worth watching; as if it wasn't already.

    training camp

You may be too late. I don't know how many tickets are remaining but I think you'll have to wait until the online sale on July 20th and see if there are any tickets left. Go to www.redwingstrainingcamp.com and see what they say. I'm going to do that now just to see if anything is sold out yet. Best of luck to you.

    Teams calling Detroit about Hossa

What do we want from LA that we would trade Hossa's Rights for?? I'd consider taking Quincey back.

Your best moment this past season

Mine has to be the Winter Classic. We went into the 1st period down my a goal or two and by the end of the game we won by like 3 or 4 goals. That was a blast to see. I was really excited to hear that the Winter Classic this past season would feature the Detroit Red Wings. The team played some great hockey that day. To me it seemed more like an All-Star game where the players weren't really thinking about getting 2 points they were just doing what they should always be doing (having fun). So my vote is the 2009 NHL Winter Classic: Chicago Blackhawks Vs Detroit Red Wings on January 1, 2009 at Wrigley Fieild. I believe the final score was 5-2 Wings but I can't be sure. I'll have to look at the tape this summer seeing as I taped it.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

For me it's more than Hossa's Cap number. It means a lot to me that my favorite goalie of all time besides Ozzie; Dominik Hasek was able to win his first Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings. Just like having Hull, Robitallie, Duchene, Freddy Oulussan, Dallas Drake all players that have not won a cup already with the exception of Brett Hull with Dallas in 99 were able to Win their First Cup with US the Detroit Red Wings. I just want that for Hossa becasue I like him so much and I hate to see money being a problem. Hossa is a great player and he deserves what we can give him I just don't want to see Greed for money be in the way of him possibly Winning a Stanley Cup Championship with the Detroit Red Wings. Now that's not to say that just because he signs with the Wings again he WILL win a Cup but I think we are his best option. I know there are a lot of great teams in the NHL and I believe the East is getting stronger but I firmly believe that Detroit can deliver Hossa his first Stanley Cup. I'm not at all trying to bash the guy but I want him to stay a Wing and I want to see him lifting the Stanley Cup in a Detroit Red Wings Jersey!!

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

I was refering to the fact that he is already a millionare hockey player and that after ONE season at over $7 Million he's not willing to take $3 Million less to stay in Detroit (which is what he's been saying he wants to do all season long) and have a better chance at winning a Stanley Cup than with some other teams. For a lont-term deal $2 Million shouldn't be a barrier between him and the Detroit Red Wings. Let's see when I'm dead and gone do I want $70 or $80 Million in the bank that I can't spend or do I want my name on a trophy that will most likely stand the test of time and when it's time to take the ring of the Stanley Cup that bares my name it will go into the Hockey Hall of Fame for the rest of Human Existance. Geez I take a legacy of great hockey playing and even just 1 Championship than $$$$ that I can't spend.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

I'm not going to believe anything until I see it for myself but if this is true, that really gives us some huge cap space to resign Hudler, Filppula and some other players and maybe even go after a semi big name free agent. If this is true I'm disgusted with Hossa and his Agent. I know an agent is supposed to get the most for his player that he can but if Hossa wants to stay in Detroit as bad as he has said all season long and to let a deal like this fall through just because of $2 Million more than I say shame on you Hossa and good riddons. Now that being said I'm not going to start thinking about where he may go until I know for sure he is not going to be resigned by the Detroit Red Wings. I hope the Wings can work something out but if not I hope the Wings can make the right decisions on continuing to build a great hockey team.

    Training Camp 2009?

By the time I got up to the line it had already said that the Handicapped Tickets were sold completley out for Sundays Scrimmiage. I was going to stick around and see how many people were going to actually get tickets before it said Sold Out. I am sure glad I didn't wait for the July 20 Online Sale, I would have been very dissappointed. I don't know how many tickets remained after I left becasue when I left there were atleast another good 100-200 people still in line. Hopefully there will be some tickets left for the online sale because not everyone can get to TC as easily as the people that made it. It was great to see everyone that did make it and hopefully Camp will be sold out once again this September.

    Hossa wants 6million a year

If we sign Hossa for $6 Mill a season for however many seasons, who can we realistically keep and still have a good team? Would we be able to sign any other free agent that won't take a huge salary?

    Hossa wants 6million a year

    I hope youre right.

    Hossa wants 6million a year

I'd like to know if he's gonna stay in Detroit or not, before I start thinking about where else he will go. I want Hossa here in Detroit and I think we can do it if he is willing to take less money. I know he's a great player and I think he fits in well here with the Red Wings but he has to be willing to lower his price. After all he's on a team that has great players like Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Lidstrom, Rafalski so it's not like he is going to be the main star here in Detroit. It would be different if we were looking for one big star to build on but this team is stacked so he needs to learn that quick decide what he wants more $$$$ or a Stanley Cup Championship Ring. I tell you one thing if I'm going to remember a player I'm going to remember Championships before I remember big dollars.

    Training Camp 2009?

Stood in line for 3 hours at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City and finally got my tickets to all three camp dates. Sunday's scrimmage the reserved seating was sold out by the time I got there but I was able to get seating tickets for both the Gold Medal Game and the Red and White Game. Didn't get ticktes to th Prospect Camp becasue the lady that we bought the tickets from said they weren't selling them and that they would be sold the days of the games. I'll be there early to get the Prospect Camp tickets. I'm just hugely relieved to get the Red Wings Training Camp Tickets.

Wings select Landon Ferraro at 32nd overall

I said it last night when I found out that the Wings were going to trade their first round pick to TB that the Wings were going to get Landon Ferraro. God I Love it when I'm right!!!! Now on a hockey note: I think this is a good pick and I can see Ferraro playing with the Wings in a few years. He will need some more development and I think the Wings will bring him up slowly and make him a better player when he steps into the NHL. I don't see him playing this coming season but maybe soon. I like all the picks the Wings had this season. I was not at all suprised to see the Wings go Offense in this draft only drafting 2 D-Men and 3 Centers and 2 Right Wings. I know that Andrej Nestrasil can be a C and a RW and I think that is great to have such a versitle player. All thise picks are great and I can't wait to see these players develop into great NHLers.

    Chris Pronger traded to Philly

This means that he'll be playing more games against the Pens and Crosby. Man I would love to see Pronger knock the hell out of Crosby and Malkin for that matter. I think this is good. Get Pronger out of the west and let him torment the East for a while.
  17. Dimaline312000

    Robert Scuderi

We don't need him, I think we can do better than that if we want another D-man.

    Hossa wants 6million a year

If Hossa wants 6 Million a season he can find it somewhere else. If he wants to stay a Wing he'll take what they can offer hime otherwise take a hike Hossa. I want Hossa on this Roster again but not if he is expecting a huge salary than he can get it from another team. Come on Hossa don't be greedy.

For some reason that wouldn't suprise me one bit.

    Goodbye Cheli Thread.

Chelly is a great player and was a great Red Wing. I'm very happy that he played for Detroit for all these years and has won 2 Stanley Cups with them. I wish him the best of luck but I really wished he would retire this off-season as a Detroit Red Wing. Take Care Chelly.

Holland waiting for 09-10 cap (update on contract offers)

I'm fine with parting with Samuelson and Hudler as long as we can keep Hossa. I'd like to either keep Huds or Filps but if that is not an option than I want to giv Hossa another chance. I know what everyone has been saying about him this season and his performance in the playoffs but I think he is a good quality player and now that he has got some Wings Playoff Experince under him he will be much better next season for us. As for the other big worry of mine is our goaltending situation. I really want to give Howard a chance to prove he can play in the NHL but if he can't play in the NHL or at least not with the Wings we would have already done something with Conklin and we'll be searching for another No. 2 goalie. Conklin has proven himself as a great back-up with the Wings so I would love to see us keep him but than than leaves Howard out in the cold. I trust the Wings decision making and I feel they know what they want and know what they are doing so I support their decisions in whatever they do.
