Let's Go Red Wings. Play good, strong, and solid hockey and get the W today.
-
I've seen some of them at one of my local drug stores. I was going to buy a few but I decided against it and now I can't find them anymore. Not that I'm that worried about it but they would be neat collector's items.
-
Ritola is a good young player and I think he'll be on the Wings roster next season, depending on what happens with our forwards and who stays and goes. He has a real good chance and making this team real real soon.
-
I gotta believe he will be in the AHL next season. 3 or 4 seasons after that if that long he will be on the Wings NHL Roster.
-
I don't see Khabibulin coming here. I could be wrong I just don't think he would fit into our system. Sounds to me like the Wings main focus is going to be signing Hossa and Franzen so I'd say the Wings will probably do the easiest thing with their goaltending situation. I'm not saying I know what that is but I don't think we will get a free agent goalie like him. I'd rather see us get Lehtonen or another low level goalie for next season. Just depends on what they want to do and who they can count on being solid in goal. I'd like to see Howard come up but most people don't think he's ready to be the Wings goalie yet.

Hossa Hossa Hossa Hossa!!!!

Good move by the Bruins Tim Thomas is a great goalie and keeping him around for a few more years should only improve this teams success in the future seasons and playoffs.
-
I like Ron Wilson hopefully he will be able to help the US Olympic team. He's a great coach that deserves a lot better than what he's had in his coaching career.

Come on Ozzie!! Let's Go Wings!!

Osgood says he is ready to lead the team in the playoffs

If Ozzie feels that he can lead this team in the playoffs and be successful that I have all the confidence in the world in Ozzie. All I can hope and pray for is another Stanley Cup Championship. Let's Go Red Wings!! -
I like the general idea of how you think but I don't see the wings signing Bouwmeester. I can see Chelios leaving and maybe getting rid of Lebda, Filps, Hudler and I think Sammy. Stuart is a possible trade but I don't think the Wings are looking to do anything with Kronwall I think they like his play to much to move him unless the deal was that perfect. I would love to see the Wings get a high draft pick along with whatever draft picks spot they get this coming draft. (I hope the Wings get the #30 Draft Pick). I see the Wings not signing anyone big off of free agency but rather bringing some players up from GR.

I haven't read all the responses to this thread but if you plan on eating at Hockeytown Cafe I'd suggest getting reservations because Hockeytown Cafe on game day for just walk in's you'll be getting your food by the 2nd period of the game if you're lucky. Unless you get there early and eat early and just get like a small snack or something at the game. Enjoy the Joe it is an awesome arena, walk around it a couple of times and check out the stautues and unique stuff at the Joe. Enjoy the game hopefully they will win.

Well I hope I won't have to work but if I do maybe I'll tape it. -
Let's Go Wings we really need the two points!!
-
Maybe if we could make the right trade at maybe the draft we could free up some space to keep Franzen and Hossa and still be able to bring up someone in GR.
-
I like having Ericcson but I'd love to have Lilja back as well. Keep Chelios on the Shelf and if Lils come back if we have to move Meech to a forward position and keep Ericsson up if we can.

After futher consideration and given time to diget this I withdraw my past statements on this subject. I would rather have Franzen than neither. It jus dosesn't make sense to me that Detroit would sign Hossa to a one year deal to only let him go after that one season. I realize that with the type of player he is and the type of money that a player like him demands. I just woldn't take the Wings as a team that would only sign a player like Hossa for one season. When I said I'd rather see some younger players move up I really meant that for the most part. Helm, Ericcson, Leino, Abdelkader all look to me like they could come up next season and fill some holes. Five or six years ago I would lean more to older and more experinced players seeing as Detroit is a veteran club but as of the past 2 to 3 years I've gone more with youth because most of the league has done that and been somewhat successful. Franzy is a great player and I'd be happy to keep him it's just when I found out that Hossa was coming to Detroit this season I was ecstatic and even though I knew that he only held a one season contract with us I had hoped that he would play well enough to stay on this roster on a more permanent basis. I will always ALWAYS support the Detroit Red Wings no matter what. So I'll take whatever the Wings can put together.
-
I'd say Green has a real good shot at it.
-
I would think that by that time the Wings would have a few retirements and that would free up cap space for the other long term contracts.
-
I'd rather have neither if I didn't have Hossa. I like Franzy and I think he's a great player but I'd have to say Hossa is a much better player all around. I'd rather see us bring up players from Grand Rapids if we can't have Hossa or both.
-
Well this sucks. No offense but I'd take Hossa over Franzen anyday.
-
He would have made a great Wing.

Happy Birthday Gordie!!

Let's go Conks lead is to win #50!! -
Ya know after watching this 4-3 loss to the Nashville Predators tonight I'm weary of any 1st round opponent. Two weeks ago I didn't want to play the Blue Jackets in the 1st round now it looks like we may play Nashiville again and I really don't want to play them in the first round if the Wings continue to play the way they do and they run into a team that is on a high from either making it into the playoffs after having a rough season and wasn't expecting to make the playoffs or a team that is just happy they are doing well, a hot team. It makes me worry about our opponent in any round but this 1st round is really going to be a huge round. I mean any round is big but to have to sing in the first round after a season like the Wings had last season it will be a bitter pill to take. I can honestly say that I'm a little worried. The Wings really need to get into playoff mode and start playing like the team we all know they can be. I'm not making any prediction still I'm just stating some feelings and some worries. I hope this is just stupid playoff jitters by a fan that LOVES the Detroit Red Wings and the Wings will do what they do and play great Detroit Red Wings Hockey. Let's Go Red Wings!!!!
