I don't know much about ratings but if both goalies play to their potential than it should be a very low scoring series and good defensive battles. I'm pulling for the Yotes in 6 but I think it will be the Preds in 6. If Florida can win tonight we'll be one step closer to Dogs Vs Cats in the Stanley Cup Finals, LOL!!

Glad he elected to stay, to pass on an oppertunity like that has got to be tough but it it wasn't right than it just wasn't right. Hopefully the Habs find a quality GM that can help get them back in the Playoff Hunt. Ever since the movie The Rocket Montreal has become my favorite Canadian Team.

I was definetly glad to see the Sharks get knocked out in the 1st round this season too. After losing to them two years in a row in the 2nd round it was somewhat gratifying to see them not go any further than us. It doesn't take away the pain of the Wings being out but it eases it a little bit.

I picked the Canucks winning the Cup, just because I only like one Canadian team and Vancouver ain't it and I just don't want to see any Canadian team win another Cup for a long time. If Holland is dumb enough to believe that we only need OUR FA's signed than he needs to be out. Which I personally think that Holland needs to go anyway. He's built some great teams in the past but that was the past and he's starting to favor our long-time guys as apposed to getting some new blood in the line-up. Wings need changes and I hope Holland has the brains and the balls to realize it and do something about it this off-season.

For the most part I agree. As I said in a different thread, Liddy is going to retire eventually and IMO I'd rather see him do it this off-season and have it over and the Wings be able to go after a Big Free Agent Defenseman this off-season since we all know what's out there this season as opposed to next off-season. Now maybe there is a better UFA Market after 12-13 than after this season but the longer Liddy plays the more prone to injury he is as he gets older. Wings need some type of spark to get them going again and get that hunger/fire back in them. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying Liddy isn't a great player becasue he is and he's done so much for this team and been such a great leader even before he got the C and he may not be the issue but perhaps the Wings need to start getting younger. They've done very well the past couple season's in trying to bring up so younger players from GR but maybe it's time to look outside the organzation for a player that's still a fairly seasoned vet but has more years in his legs. Yes I agree I wouldn't have wanted to get further and further into the playoffs and get hopes up only to lose again in the 2nd round or even make the Conference or Cup finals only to lose again and not have our real issues exposed and addressed this off-season so yes as much as it hurts being the first team out of the playoffs this season it's probably what is best for this team. Now the bigger question will Holland have what it takes to make a big deal whether it be a big signing or a big trade?

Not that Liddy isn' a fantastic player, I personally am at a point where I hope he does retire. We all know that eventually he will retire, I'd rather see him just go now that way we can start looking at bringing in a younger D-man. Smith I'm sure will be up next season but he won't be able to fill Lidstrom's skates and we'll need a big name UFA to do that, it looks like there are going to be a few good choices out there this season it would be nice to be able to pursue them and not do the same thing we did this year in signing a player like Commodore only to trade him later in the season. The Wings NEED some type of shake up or something to spark them and get that hunger and fire back in them to win the Cup again SOON. Maybe if Liddy retires we can start to do that with a solid D-Man.

Holmsy is a great player and though he isn't as old as Liddy he's getting up there, I think some of his decision will be based on what Liddy does but it really wouldn't suprise me either way.

No I don't believe Detroit will win this series. That being said, I already said this in the 1000 Post for a Game 5 Victory Thread. There always seems to be one game where Detroit simply blows our their opponent and we haven't seen that yet. I can honestly feel that is what is coming in Game 5. We'll have one game where we prove we are the better team even if it's just one time and than we lose Game 6. So I don't believe the Preds will win game 5 but I believe this series is done in 6......... I hope and pray that I'm wrong. Let's Go Red Wings!!!!

I sure hope they do keep the Training Camp at Centre Ice. Not that I'm not willing to go somewhere else for camp but Traverse City is a beautiful area and Centre Ice is a fantastic arena and it feels like a home away from home for me. I've been to numerous Arena's from all over the US and I'd have to say Centre Ice is one of if not the best I've ever been in. I HATE to see the North Stars go and I hope that at some point in the future Traverse City can get another team besides just Pee Wee and High School Hockey Teams. I really felt a Junior League team was a great fit for TC. I would say that maybe the area could actually support a Pro Hockey team but if Junior League team is leaving than obviously not. I still haven't heard when Tickets are going on sale, has anyone heard anything latley??

I don't know how many of you follow Junior League Hockey but I'm a die hard Hockey fan and I do my very best to follow all Hockey, especially in Michigan. After the Traverse City North Stars lost their playoff series Vs Kalamazoo in the NAHL Playoffs it was announced that the team would be moving from Traverse City to Salut Ste. Marie. Now the reason I'm posting this is becasue the Arena the North Stars Played in is the same arena that the Detorit Red Wings hold their Training Camp and where the NHL Prospect Camp is held. My question is what does this mean for the camps?? What happens to Cemtre Ice Arena during the Hockey Season? I mean yes it can be used for High School Hockey and stuff but Howe Arena is used for High School Hockey right now in TC. Though I can't imagine they will prehaps they plan on tearing down Howe Arena and just having High School Hockey at Centre Ice Arena. Now I assume that since on the Detroit Red Wings Training Camp Facebook Page already has dates for the Prospect Camp and DRWTC that it's still going to be held there. Does anyone have any more information about this and what plans are for September and the Camps. I'm a little worried becasue by this time last year they would have already had the In-Person Sale for Red Wings TC Tickets. What does this mean for September 2012 and Future Wings Camps? Thoughts, Info, Comments, Concerns all welcome. I'm willing to go whereever I need to go to get Training Camp Tickets whether it's Sault Ste Marie or still in Travese City. I've always felt Traverse City was a great place to hold camp(s). There's a ton of stuff to do when there's no Hockey. I mean there's plenty to do in Sault Ste. Marie but IMO now it doesn't have the same feeling in TC since there isn't a team to play in that arena after the Wings and NHL Teams get done.

Not that I actually believe it's going to happen but from a certain stand-point it would be kinda cool to see Phoenix and Florida in the SC Finals. Now IMHO I don't think either one has what it takes to go all the way it would just be funny to see Dogs Vs Cats Stanley Cup Finals. Just Sayin!!

I agree it would be nice to see our team have a bit more fire and outplay the Preds. Both teams are good quality teams I can't deny that. I don't have to like Nashville to respect their ability as a team. However the Wings have way more playoff experience than they do; they know how to play and how to Win. The've had a very inconsistent season and that will probably come into play in this series, in fact I think it already has but we need to be the hungrier team here. I definelty want the Wings to prove me wrong and win this series but I really don't think they will be able to do it. They have the ability but not that fire that you have to have in the playoffs to win. It would be great to see the Wings bring in some younger players/prospects and see what they can do but it's the expereinced players that need to bring it up a bit.

This has been the most entertaining series I've seen so far, I'm abolutley loving this!!!! LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!
