Right. If I remember correctly, the Wings had no chance against the Flyers because the Legion of Doom (seriously the stupidest line name ever) were gonna crush the puny Wings.

If Osgood had stolen one series as the Wings goaltender, I'd be much more inclined to want to see his jersey hanging. But he just wasn't ever a shutdown goaltender. He was a goalie that recovered well from horrible games and goals from center ice, but he rarely stole a single game in the playoffs.

I guess I don't prefer easy roads to glory.

As much as I'd like to see a Det/Pitt match-up, I'd be very intrigued with a Det/Phil SCF, if we were so blessed. That would be an intense series. Rematch even.

In my opinion, rafter spots should be reserved for franchise type players and/or lines. Ozzy was never a franchise type player. He was a decent enough goaltender who played on the cheap. He was affordable and adequate. Not rafter material imo. May as well retire Draper's number while your at it.

You seem to be confusing the most valuable player to the most talented player. Crosby is carrying his team more than Datsyuk. The Pens would be WAY worse off without him in the lineup. The Wings would survive without Datsyuk.

Crosby is running away with it atm, but it's cool to see Dat's mentioned. Unfortunately he has probably zero chance to win unless Crosby implodes.

I'm pretty sure that it's universally understood that nobody can replace Lidstrom and what he brings to the game. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's common knowledge that Lidstrom will be replaced by committee.

Hehe. I like how people throw Kindl into trade proposals like a bonus. The kid is worth hangin onto, if for nothing else than to continue to push Ericsson. But besides that, the kid has a lot of skill and a lot of potential. Give that up? For Doan? No way.
