Seems like Ericsson could be the odd man for a while if Kindl continues to outplay him. Not to mention Smith waiting in the wings too. I'd like to see a new experiment. Turn a defensemen that was once a forward back into a forward and give him hardcore boxing lessons. That would be fun.

Right. Heh. It seems like a lot of people expect total blow outs all season long because of our scoring depth. We have awesome depth, ya... but all that means is that should still be able to win games when 'things' happen without leaning on Jimmy too much. Case in point, last game. Jimmy wasn't spectacular, but played good enough to win, and we did.

What reality? That we've only lost one game in regulation? Hope we stay in this reality.

We all have to come to grips with the distinct possibility that we will never see that Ericsson from that playoff run ever again.

Been very impressed with Kindl. I can see why some were saying that a lot of his passes were taking his GR team mates by surprise. He does a lot of little one time passes to get the puck out of trouble. Once he gets the timing on his outlet pass down, he's gonna be a really good player. Not afraid to get his nose dirty either. That's good to see too.

Larry is right. Kindl has looked really good this game considering. I can see now why they were saying that a lot of his passes were taking his AHL teammates by surprise. He seems to know where he is gonna be passing it before it touches his stick. That's really nice to see.

Some of these posters are acting like Chicago fans. Maybe we can trade our small percentage of silly fans for Chicago's small percentage of good fans and corner the market. THAT would be a good trade. Get it done Kenny!

I don't care. This. The only way that goal goes in is if Howard is being lazy with the stick, loses focus because he assumes Janik has it handled or a bee flies into his helmet. He was in position and the puck should have hit him. Not slide under his stick and between his legs. I don't care what league you play in, that's a bad goal. That puck was supposed to harmlessly hit Howard's stick and get covered. I'd bet any money that Howard would tell you the same thing. It makes no difference whether or not he could see it. He knew where it was and his angle was fine. It didn't surprise him and hit top corner. It slid underneath him.

Look... if you want to give Jimmy a free pass on that goal, fine. I couldn't care less. But... You said yourself that the goal was bad. Not 'as bad' as everyone is making out... but still bad. So are we examining all the grey now? Like I said, not interested. I'll sit back and await your backstroke on that comment. Do you always resort to name calling? How old are you? Fact of the matter is, that goal was bad. Was it the worst? Nope. We can sit here all day and bicker over the many shades of grey when it comes to bad goals. I'm not interested. I think it was bad, you think it wasn't quite so bad... but still kinda bad. Whatever.

Wrong. It WAS bad. Janik screwed up and Jimmy was lazy in keeping his 5-hole covered. Just because Janik screwed up doesn't mean that Howard is exonerated. His form was bad, that's why the goal went in. It's fairly common to have a goal against be the result of more than one bad play. He had a bad game... get over it already.

I like em. I just wish we were good at them. I mean seriously... Datsyuk, Hudler, Franzen, Modano and Zetterberg... not one goal? It defies logic. He seems to look way more lost on a more talented club. I'm a fan of Janik but I'm wondering if he looked serviceable last season because he was basically playing on GR with all the injuries.

I wouldn't mind seeing Eaves or Miller get a shot... problem is, who goes down to the fourth? Right, nobody. So like you say, they need to get their s*** together.

Agreed. We're seeing flashes of offensive potential on that line, but they need a ton of work on the defensive side. I'm starting to think that this line won't stick long.

In my opinion, Howard should have easily had three of those goals. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say that only two were complete s***. The five-hole one was only semi s***, off the heels of a s*** defensive play.
