I never said anything about giving up on Ericsson. Let's not start inserting words into mouth. All I'm saying is that you can't make an accurate assessment of Kindl until you've seen him play with the big club in a regular rotation. Right now, Kindl is a pure prospect. Ericsson is far from it. I'm shocked that I have to point out this distinction to you. Just because you can somehow magically divine knowledge of how Kindl will perform in a regular rotation on the Wings doesn't mean any of us little people can. Kindl has had basically zero chance to learn tendencies and develop chemistry with the regulars, unlike Ericsson, yet you have no problem saying they are basically the same player. This makes you look dumb. (note: this is an opinion and therefore not debatable)

Until Kindl is given significant time during the regular season, it's a no comparison. But seriously, don't let me stop you from comparing apples to oranges.

Bearing in mind that Ericsson has had a significant amount of NHL experience compared to Kindl, I see your point I guess. You're basically comparing a player who has had a full season and two playoff runs to a player that has a handful of camp and pre-season games. Not really a comparison imo.

I'm liking the sound of that more and more.

It is for a player that isn't even top 6 on the depth chart. Seems pretty obvious to me that every 500k counts in the salary cap era. That being said... I think that Lebda has enough offensive instinct and plenty of speed. In a different system, he could really blossom when given the chance. Which would make him a bargain. His speed is pretty sick.

Actually, he retired four seasons later after splitting time between the Lightning and Panthers. That's what sucked so bad. He was still in the league when the Wings went back to back. It was only a matter of time before Bowman got sick of him. It sucked to see him go though. I remember he decked Enrico Cicconi(?), dude was like 6'3 or something. Played for the Hawks at the time. Knocked him right on his ass if I remember correctly.
