Stole the words right out of my mouth.

All we need now are sharks with frickin lasers on their heads.

Not really, imo. I don't want to watch a 40 year old Lidstrom spend an entire season covering up for Ericsson's stupid mistakes. You'd be sacrificing a lot of goals with that paring methinks.

What I got out of it. -Osgood is good to go. Knows his role and is willing to fight for the starting spot. Best possible scenario. -Modano will flourish in front of Detroit's D. Redmond predicts 20 goals easily. -Mickey likes the fact that skilled players can play without "dragging a horse and wagon behind them" but knocks the inconsistency of penalty calls... of course. -Abby will play a 4th line role and is well liked in the dressing room. -Mickey's cell phone sucks.

It's all good. I decided that it was refreshing. Nobody can, obviously, but you seem to be automatically assuming that he will score 20 goals no matter where he plays... what's the difference between auto-assuming he will and auto-assuming he wont? You are just going the opposite way that most everyone else is going. I'd actually like to see him land in San Jose if anywhere. I feel like he would drop off big time in Washington for some reason. I see him ending the season in obscurity there. San Jose seems like a much better fit for him. Wonder what the odds are that he signs in Chicago for the league minimum.

You might be one of the most argumentative mods I have ever come across. Not sure if it's refreshing or annoying. First off... numbers from two and three years ago are not numbers from *this point*. They are from a couple years ago. Secondly, it wouldn't be out of the realm to see him accept league minimum. Especially because if he laces them up again, he will not want to play for anybody but a contender. How many contenders have an extra 1+ million laying around?

That's a matter of opinion... you know opinions don't fly around here.

Idle hands are the devil's workshop... or something like that.

Didn't you get the memo? He's the missing piece to a Stanley Cup roster.

I get the feeling that the Wings want to hang on to Miller. Eaves gets a lot of credit for our PK last season and deservedly so, but the PK didn't REALLY start clicking until Miller got on board.

RITOOOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Anyway... I agree. Hopefully they unload Meech and keep Ritola somehow. I'm not a capologist though, I don't even know if that would be possible.
-
Not a huge deal. I hope he gets the surgery soon. Like tomorrow.
-
Outstanding. Drop. The. *******. Puck. The Wings are scary.
-
Excellent post, but it will fall upon deaf ears. Yes... a lot of the pro-fighting people are THAT BLIND.

Paul was always my least favorite Beatle. I even like Ringo more than him.
-
Modano... Asham... Either way. Gonna be a fun season to watch.

If the Wings have an 'injury free' season, there is no reason to believe that Lidstrom's point totals won't be amongst the league leaders. His game was never overly physical since day one. Age won't affect his game as much as it might affect a lot of other defensemen.

Selanne was a Winnipeg Jet. Same franchise. Surprised you didn't know that being Finnish and all...

I haven't been disappointed since NHLPA 93 when they removed the puddle of blood spewing from the players head. Or was that 94 when they removed it?
-
Ya. I don't really buy into many reviews either. I'm hoping they will eliminate the move that my son likes to try and perform over and over and over and over and over...

It would be really cool to see both Flips on the same line. I hope iFlip sticks around long enough.
-
I've read some rough reviews on NHL11, but they were all written about an early version, so who knows...
-
Best of seven series against my son on NHL10 has helped tremendously.

I was wondering the same thing. This misspelling seems very suspicious to me. As far as the question goes, it's hard to tell what kind of impact these long term contracts are going to have. I don't fully understand the economics of it, but I will admit that the thought of a 40 yr old Zetterberg playing for his current cap hit is a little horrifying.

Obviously you don't.
