Great... that's one of those 'ignorance is bliss' things. -

Agreed for the most part, but storing fish at 68 and storing toxic detergents and s*** over food isn't really minor. I once heard that Arby's meat comes as a liquid and then 'sets' as it is cooked. I'm pretty sure it isn't true, but it still ruined Arby's for me. -
Heh... I'm kinda like that sometimes. Though Doc definitely takes it to all new levels. I think it stems from boredom. At least in my case it does. Plus a good debate does a mind good once in a while, even if it's about black tape or white tape.
-
You'll get used to Doc. He just loves to argue for the sake of arguing. He can find something to argue about in the most innocuous of statements. It's fun to indulge him once in a while. He'll use pictures and quotes in an attempt to confuse you, it's all good clean fun.
-
Ok... you aren't butthurt. Whatever. Lol.
-
So take the most important factor... the results, and eliminate them so as to help your argument. Brilliant. The results are everything and the only thing that matters. The goal last season, as stated by JImmy Dev himself, was to make the playoffs. Babcock did that. Hence, he made the best decisions. Just because you and a few others are butt hurt because Osgood sat doesn't automatically mean Babcock made bad decisions. Just ones that you don't agree with.

He's waiting until he gets back on the ice to see how his body feels? Why is this so hard to comprehend?
-
Chill. I wasn't talking about you. I was responding to your post. Lets not start putting words into my mouth, k?
-
That's not really the point though. We can all speculate on 'what if' all day long regarding Osgood. He's the king of mustering 'what if's' about himself. The point is, the Wings had absolutely zero wiggle room last season to allow Osgood to find his form. There was never any breathing room for the Wings. They started battling in November and didn't stop until April. Everyone seems to conveniently disregard the jacked up point structure the NHL utilizes these days. With most teams getting at least one point every single game, it's extremely difficult to A) Catch up when you are behind and B) Put any kind of space between you and the teams behind you. But of course we can wonder 'what if' just a bit. But to deny that we were in a dogfight in November to make the playoffs, like a few on here have already half-heartedly done, is pure Osgood homerism.

Assuming that they would even be in any sort of striking distance come Feb. You assume a lot when it comes to the subject of Osgood.
-
Drake was also on the Wings in the early 90's. 92 I think. Just sayin'. In fact, they were his first NHL team.
-
Haha! Right! I used to forget that back in the day too.
-
I get what you're saying and for Kariya I would agree 100%. But the potential upside with Modano could be epic if he accepts his role as a third line center and is driven. The guy captained a team to the Stanley Cup. The more I think about it, I'm glad he's waiting to see how his body feels. It shows that's he taking the notion seriously. If he's on the team, he automatically gives a few guys on the first two lines a nice push.
-
Was Drake ever hated? I never hated him. Kinda didn't want to see him go the first time.
-
Dude, it's July. Chill.
-
Are you implying that this team wasn't battling in December? Because you would be wrong.
-
Wow. You're right. I never heard one of them ever mention the core before that. I knew I was sick of that word for a reason.
-
When Fedorov was at his best, he looked like a superhero on skates.
-
I wouldn't mind Kariya on the third line but I think I would have to go with Modano. Size being the factor I guess.
-
This. I was just thinking the other day that I'm really glad they won the Cup now. Not winning the Cup and then dealing with this s*** is too much to wish even on s***hawk fans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwiXG0p3N6g

I totally agree that Babcock probably went too far in riding Howard, but I honestly think he was just s***ting his pants hoping to make the playoffs.
-
But they aren't. So what's your point?
-
Osgood made his bed last season. What happens next season is up to him... again. I almost didn't respond because I really didn't feel like being assaulted with a ton of stats and scenarios that supposedly show different. Anyone that is honest with themselves will admit that Osgood played poorly when he was in. Despite what stats say, he was constantly out of position, fought the puck on most nights and routinely made poor decisions. He looked lost most nights and I don't buy the rust theory. He wasn't squashed by Babcock. He squashed himself. <sits back and waits for the Osgood faithful to pile on the negs> heh

Dumb. Nobody is kissing anybody's ass. Nobody is in a hurry except the fans. So lets drop the Modano talk and start looking for a plugger instead. Ooooooooooooo... fun times.

Again... I think your are fixating on a few, irrational posters and running with their hatred. I've been lurking this forum for long before I actually signed on and I can honestly say that you are blowing this hatred thing WAY out of proportion just to try and prove your point. You do it a lot and it's completely unjustified, imo. I guarantee you that everytime you make these claims of hatred, 90% of the readers on this board are scratching their head wondering what the hell you are talking about. Just because some pin heads may have made a couple of Lazy and Sucks threads about these guys doesn't mean that there is a board wide hatred for them. In fact, in those few, insignificant threads, there are usually more people defending the so-called 'hated' than people piling on.
