Do you fabricate this hatred just so that you have something to argue about? Because I honestly don't see this hatred that you are always claiming. Is there Brad Stuart Hatred Society posting in some hidden forum somewhere? Seriously. Where is this hatred beyond a few people? Even that is questionable. Sure, he gets dogged when he has a bad game... just like everyone else. Including Lidstrom. Are they the same handful of people that also hate Cleary? (another player that you like to claim board hatred on)

I was listening to that interview someone posted from the weekend. I really liked his honesty and candor with the situation. I believe him when he says that he has nothing to prove and he would just be playing for the love of the game. That's why I don't think he signs with the Sharks if he signs anywhere. WAY too much pressure in San Jose at the moment. Especially if he signs there. In my opinion, Detroit is the PERFECT fit for him. He can come here and become a fixture on the third line and enjoy playing with Hudler and Cleary or, if he gets a burr up his ass, he can battle Flip for second line minutes... thus pushing Flip. (personally... I think him coming here would be great for Flip) If I were him, I'd stay very far away from the hornets nest that is San Jose. Of course... I am biased. By the way... HE'S the one who brought up Detroit in the interview. Just sayin'.

I was playing in a rec league on a 'good time' team filled with a bunch of beginners. By some fluke we got scheduled to play against a team 3 tiers above us. They were awesome. I scored on a slapper from the point and we only lost by one goal, 4-3. We almost won and it was from pure hustle. We had good chances at the end because we wore them down all game long. They felt lucky to win. It was awesome. I'm glad I played on that team.

You are vastly underestimating what it takes to be a Hall of Fame quarterback imo.
-
How old are they? I've never seen them anywhere.
-
I think you greatly underestimate Z. He has a lot of career left. Yzerman was great, but he's not gonna singlehandedly shut the door on retiring numbers for decades to come. C'mon. Agreed.

Not yet.

Modano isn't strong arming the Wings. What a weird thing to say. Neither side is in a hurry.
-
Doubt it...
-
I think the only thing putting Jimmy on that list is the fact that without him, the Wings aren't in the playoffs. Next season is still questionable but he proved quite a bit last season. In spite of the mediocre playoff.

It seems pretty obvious to me that Hossa'a slide is much worse than Datsyuk's slide. Doesn't mean that you have to agree. Personally, I'm glad Hossa isn't on the Wings. Despite your repeated attempts to make them equal. As far as I'm concerned, he was paid way too much to get knocked on his ass repeatedly. Again, you don't have to agree. Maybe a multi-million dollar, back-checking mercenary is worth as much as homegrown magician to you. Free country. But I wonder which player would impact the Wings more by being out of the lineup? Pretty sure you know the answer to that. When's the last time Datsyuk almost cost his team a very important (basically life and death) playoff game with a selfish decision?
-
It doesn't take a genius a simply watch both players and see that Datsyuk is the more reliable player. Numbers aside, Datsyuk is simply better in almost every category. Especially in the playoffs. Hossa is on is ass swimming 10X more than Datsyuk. Accusing people of being "jilted-lover-cry-ass-Penguin-fans" just because they acknowledge that Datsyuk is obviously the better playoff performer in recent years is silly. It just makes you sound like a jilted-cry-ass-Hossa-fan.

A cheesy +1 on rep didn't seem good enough. Excellent post. Spot on.

I TOTALLY ripped this off from the HF Boards, but it's too good. Props to whoever did this. Winning the Cup: Not winning the Cup: Again... this IS NOT MY WORK. Just wanted to make sure that was clear. Here's the link to the thread: http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=799141

It's the offseason. If we can't make fun of Modano for being whipped... what are we supposed to do? In fact, it's his fault. The longer this lingers, the more whipped he appears. This is a hockey forum. We don't think about those things. It's much more entertaining comparing hot wives and discussing our personal thresholds for being whipped by said wives. But the Wings are the coolest organization in all of professional sports. There is no decision. Come win a Cup.

Sure would be nice if Holland was able to pull a rabbit out of his ass with iFlip.

I'm just saying that 40 points isn't entirely inconceivable in the Eastern Conference. No matter who the player. It's that bad.
-
Jay 2da R-O-C would be proud. No wut I'm sayin?
-
Maybe... but I'm also looking at former whipping boys that have been traded to other teams and they all seem to do pretty well, with a few exceptions of course. Even the worst players can't help but have a little Red Wing greatness rub off on them.
-
I said I wouldn't be shocked. If Lebda can make an impact as an offensive defenseman, get decent powerplay time, there's no reason to believe that he couldn't pile up assists and a few goals. I never said anything about his +/- or defensive game... that'll probably be atrocious. But offensively... in the Eastern Conference... no point total would shock me.

Modano has never been real smart when it comes to what he says to the press, but even if he signs with another team, he wouldn't be a liar. He said (paraphrasing): "Right now it's either Detroit or retirement. I think it's narrowed down to that" At the time, no other team had contacted him. It was very early in free agency and rest of the teams were still getting their s*** together. Detroit was one of the few teams that was pretty much all set and knew what kind of numbers they were gonna have to play with. So you can take him at his word, but his poorly worded comment basically stated that RIGHT NOW it was only retirement or Detroit. Depends what he is looking for. If he is looking for one last decent payday to pad the coffers... then maybe. If he wants the best chance to win a Cup and money is secondary, then no. Detroit and San Jose are obviously better options. It's getting to the point now, for me, that I'm hoping he just retires and goes away. He's annoying the hell out of me already.
-
Well, this is just getting dumb if it's true. The novelty factor has wore off. I really wouldn't care if he went somewhere else. At least then I can get back to not liking him.
-
Just like "lol @ Leino doing anything for the Flyers in the playoffs" probably.
-
I wouldn't be completely shocked if Lebda put up 40 pts. Slightly surprised, but not shocked. It all depends on how many minutes he plays and how his skill set is utilized by Toronto. Even the biggest slug in the world can be a decent player in the right system.

Hopefully you'll just camouflage it better next time.
