I don't get the draw to Twitter. Who cares enough about people they don't know that they want to follow their every move? It seems kinda weird to me.

NHL Rule Change Thoughts while following Olympics
Broken 16 replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but I think the 'no-touch' icing rule should be instituted ASAP. Especially if they are going to continue to enforce interference rules so strictly. Will help eliminate unnecessary injuries, imo. Sure, it's cool to see the occasional icing negation... but it's not worth the price, imo. -
2010 Winter Olympics - Canada vs United States (Group A)

This might be nitpicking... but why do they continue to announce Sidney Crosby as the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins during an international event? Are they that butt hurt that he is just an assistant captain? -
2010 Winter Olympics - Canada vs United States (Group A)

It's getting beyond stale. I turn the TV on and endure yet another Crosby focus segment. Are there any other good players playing? -
Bleh... I'd take Jagr over Floppa in a heartbeat. Floppa is too fragile and too far removed from the game, imo.

There's the flaw. You never KNOW you are going to get home safe. Even if you are stone sober. Every drink decreases your odds. That's the point. Not lecturing. Just sayin'.
-
Amen I was stupid enough when I was younger and I thank God everyday that I was lucky enough not to hurt someone. Even though I was lucky, it's still one of my biggest regrets and embarrassments.

I support any team that is going against Canada. Only because I love sitting back and watching the Canadian supporters throw epic temper tantrums and lash out at anything they can. It's awesome.
-
I see the usual suspects are still overblowing the rebound thing. How completely unsurprising.

Actually... you should have read further...

I think they are playing Bertuzzi right now in hopes someone will show some interest and they can ship him out in a trade. I'm sick of seeing Bert drag the Wings down. This has to stop.
-
Nevermind... I'm not going there. Whatever bro. You're right and I'm wrong.

So why are you so offended by the legal limit? What exactly are you arguing? Or are you waffling now? Are you championing the right for someone to impair themselves even though you don't? That's really dumb. As if your odds of getting from Point A to Point B weren't skewed enough... lets also allow people to impair themselves further. Great cause.
-
Look... I get it. You like to drink. And apparently you also like to drink and drive since you are so offended by the .08 limit. You can type till you are blue in the face and nothing will convince me that impairing yourself before you get onto the road with fellow men, women and children is ok. I think it's selfish and shows a disregard for other people. That's my opinion. You agreement isn't necessary.
-
Since you are obviously slow. There it is again. Somehow you weren't implying that those things were viewed as ok. Can you even comprehend your own words? Just curious.
-
Why would the government make it illegal. There's too much money to be made off of you. Between taxes and enforcement, you people are stuffing too many fat cat pockets.
-
You said that texting and cell phone use was ok. Maybe you should think before you type. Even if it is a secondary offense, that clearly indicates that it isn't "ok". The lengths you people will go to justify selfish behavior. Wow. @Southern Us holier than thou people are sick of people like you justifying impairing yourself, even a little bit, before you get behind the wheel. I'd say that makes it even. In fact, the very act of knowingly impairing yourself before you get behind the wheel and drive the public streets is extremely selfish. Hypocrit much? Jeez. As long as you're having a good time I guess.

He has taken some bad penalties... we all knew he would. But a lot of the calls against him have been nothing short of horses***.
-
In case you haven't noticed, they've started cracking down on cell phone use as well, especially texting. Try watching the news once in a while. Once that law falls into place, what are you pro drinking and driving people gonna have to hang on to? Eating Big Macs while driving? If one drink is enough to impair your judgment even the slightest amount... is it really worth the risk of putting other people in danger? When the s*** hits the fan, that slight impairment could be the difference between living and dying. Killing and not killing. Apparently beer is really important to a lot of people. How sad.

Knowledge/Smowledge... everyone knows that all you need to win the Cup is a guy with a solid left hook. That's Hockey 101.
-
Pump the brakes. Let's not generalize too much. There are A LOT of very responsible people in this country. Unfortunately, the only people that get recognized are the dip s***s that do drive drunk. Nobody talks about the large chunk that do the right thing. They are just called liars. Lol.
-
It's not stupidity. It's more a desire to validate ones own actions.
-
You would be amazed at what lengths people in this country will go in order to validate drinking and driving. It's pathetic and embarrassing. What's worse is I know several people who have had multiple DUI's (I'm talking 3,4,5...6!!!) and still aren't in jail. This country is in the stoneage when it comes to driving under the influence.
-
Ya... it's ridiculous to not be allowed to drive while you are impaired. What a shame that everyone isn't allowed to jeopardize the safety of others with no regard. People should be allowed to drive around 2 ton chunks of metal without having to worry about being responsible for their actions. This country sucks.

Yes... by all means. Let the Swedes get him into game shape for us.
