I like Janik too but that is kind of a stretch. I like Meech over Janik only because I feel Meech helps our offense more. EDIT Hey... where did he go?

I like Janik but I think Meech has improved quite a bit recently. He has more speed and more passing skill and hasn't been making awful defensive plays lately. He's even seeing PK if I remember correctly.

That would be awesome if he was healthy enough to play in the Olympics. Let Sweden get him into game shape for us. If that happens, he should be ready to rock after the Olympics. *crosses fingers* God I miss seeing that guy barreling towards the net.

If my world involves enjoying watching a Red Wings team that has been decimated by injuries in the thick of a playoff hunt, one point away from an 8th seed while using half of the GR team to get them there. All the while witnessing Jimmy Howard possibly emerge as a legitimate NHL goaltender. That world? Ya... I'm deep into it. Thanks for noticing.

Has it ever occured to you that maybe you're a little too fragile to follow a team that isn't dominating almost every night? Don't blame me because I lower my expectations to match reality. Jimmy spoke and I listened. Sue me.

Yup... So could not getting Osgood into enough games So could letting Hudler go to the KHL So could letting Sammy go Etc. Etc. It's a re-tooling year and they lead the league in man games lost (I think). I'm happy and thoroughly enjoying this season so far.

The games we win that we don't deserve to win are usually evened out by games we lose that we didn't deserve to lose. I wouldn't get hung up on that garbage if I were you. Bottom line is, we won 6 out of a possible 10 points. That's good.

We beat Colorado, LA and, most importantly, we owned San Jose. We lost to Anaheim and The Islanders. Neither is a bottom feeder team. Anaheim always plays us tough and are better than their record indicates and the Islanders are in the playoff hunt. Granted, the definition of a bottom feeder team will vary from person to person, but I don't consider either of those teams to be bottom feeders.

Responding to anyone that claims that the Wings are "headed in the wrong direction" is pretty much an utter waste of time. It's easier to make fun of doomcryers than it is to try and reason with them. Carry on.

Yea. If they can continue to beat conference teams and pull 6 out of every possible 10 points, I think we will be just fine. If they were gonna have a stinker game, I'm glad it came against the Islanders.

C'mon... they had an excellent road trip. They beat everyone they needed to beat. Let's not overreact and start worrying about a losing streak just because they flew across the country after a west coast string and lost to an upstart Islanders team. Yes they needed the win, but they surely aren't going to win out.

How many shifts did Leino have tonight? Seems like I saw him... once.

He did until he got hurt. Looked like his leg buckled under him a couple times after that and he slowed down considerably.

I don't think people are focusing on Osgood in terms of winning the game. But he let in some really ugly goals and it just makes you wonder why he wouldn't come in, even in a losing effort, and show what he is capable of. I know some people like to divide the goalie camps, but I think you would be surprised how many so called Osgood haters want nothing more than to see Osgood get his game back.

Changing goalies in the middle of the game is not a white flag and doesn't excuse Osgood from allowing some pretty ugly goals. You would think that, at the very least, Osgood would come in and try to show Babcock that he was wrong. I'm not so sure he did that.
