Wrong. There are two things. 1) Osgood has to get a start, which should happen soon enough. Especially since it seems like Babcock is starting to feel the pressure to start him. 2) Osgood has to win the starting goaltending job. Because that job is clearly Howards. If these two things don't happen, Osgood won't be starting. Count on it.

So become a mod and clean it up.

In a perfect world, sure. That's never gonna happen. Someone is always gonna start a new thread about a new tid bit or quote. If it bothers you that much I would suggest picking a favorite one and ignoring the rest.

So bench the goalie that has just beaten 3 out of 4 conference rivals (ok, not rivals but they are ahead of us right now), 3 wins against teams ahead of us in the standings, was just cited by the coach as the goalie that gives his team the best chance to win. Is in the top 10 in league stats... for Osgood? I'm sorry. That's just dumb.

This is a good thing. We have an amazing young goalie in Jimmy Howard who has stunned us all and a multi-Cup winning Chris Osgood mentoring him. Very exciting to be a Wings fan right now. Of course it's the hot topic.

I never said they would be ok with the current roster minus Lidstrom. The Wings will be fine though. This team has faced worse adversity in the past decade than a declining Lidstrom retiring. Obviously the Wings will shore up the roster, that's a given.

Exactly. We've been 'in the playoffs' for over a month now and Howard has carried us on more than one occasion. What's more pressure? Playing in the playoffs and maybe losing or playing on a team in the regular season that is playing every night for a playoff spot? This kid has been in the pressure cooker every single game and all he has done is improve. No comparison to Manny Legace or Ty Conklin is waranted, imo. Jimmy is a Red Wing prospect that is absolutely kicking ass in his first season behind the pipes. Legace and Conklin were hired back-ups.

Even if Lidstrom does retire (which I have a feeling he might), I don't think his absence is going to be nearly as devastating as most seem to think. Not to say it won't be a huge loss, but I think the Wings will be just fine without him.
