Agreed. I get much more pleasure watching a strong defensive battle over a goal fest. I was jealous of that Devils team that beat us in the Finals.

It's a learning curve. Just like the Hawks need to learn a few things in order to become a successful franchise, Hawk fans need to learn how not to be mouthbreathers. Baby steps.

I agree. That would be as close to a perfect team as possible, imo. Zetterberg a close second. Seems obvious that you would want the most complete player cloned. For fun factor, Helm would be my choice... maybe Eaves in a year if he continues to develope at his current pace.

If that was the Hawks 'A' game, I'm not worried in the least.

I chose Leino because even though I had low expectations for his first jump into an 82 game NHL grind, he actually looks worse than I ever expected. He's either lazy and sucks, or he has no head for the game at the NHL level and appears that way. Long story short... I hate him on this roster. A close second is Osgood and his bulls*** approach to the regular season. Then Datsyuk. I just think Dats is going through some personal stuff. He'll get it sorted out sooner or later. Lidstrom will never be a disappointment because I refuse to believe that he ever gives less than 100%. I voted yes on the Kovalchuck trade for nothing but to give Datsyuk's wife someone to gossip with.

Maybe he figures the league will spot us 6 points because of having to play with a heavily depleted line-up for most of the season. Seems fair to me.

I was watching Ville closely against Tampa Bay. I saw him take a horrible shot and then follow it up with the exact same shot... except that it failed even more miserably than the first. He's playing scared. Thinks he has no time. Weak on the puck. Shot selection is absolutely atrocious. Hopefull Flip can help him find his game.

How many times have you ever seen Igor Larionov throw punches on the ice? Not only was it premeditated... he had an accomplice.

Ya. It's hard to pinpoint, but it seems to me that the rest of team works a little harder to support each other when Howard is in. He's still facing breakdowns until the Wings get up to speed defensively, but it still appears to me that they are a slightly better regular season team when he is in. I could be entirely wrong too.

I'm sure he was referring to 'Comeback McCarty' and not 'Hockeytown Hero McCarty'... in which case he would be right.

I like the idea of having one in Canada. Canadians deserve a winter classic too. Two a year is good, as long as they don't start going overboard.
