I often wonder what Helm would do with a full season. Could he possibly maintain that ridiculous pace for 82 games plus the playoffs? It sure would be fun to watch him try. Jesus... I love watching him dart around the ice. I can't remember the last time I saw someone come off the line that quick. His burst of speed out of the hole is pure insanity. The Ducks simply can't handle him. It's a thing of beauty. I, for one, would like to see Draper and Maltby hang them up after this season. Yes, Draper is an outstanding face-off guy and Maltby shows up for the playoffs (sorta). These kids deserve a spot though. Maybe not realistic, but that's how I feel. BTW... No offense to Murph, love the pylon (), but I'm not a fan of his commentating. At all.

I agree. I can definately see Lidstrom deferring a major chunk to help keep the team competitive.

I've never seen anyone fall as much as Cleary. It's crazy. Half the time he just falls down on his own, nobody within 5 feet of him and BOOM... ass to ice.

Exactly. It's funny. A lot of people like to pretend these guys are so regal when little do they know, Marian Hossa could very well be tricking people into looking at his bat wing. Hockey players are a little sick in the head and it doesn't stop at the Red Wing dressing room.

This reminds me of some funny times. There was one guy we used to play against. Someone said he looked like the Hamburgler from McDonalds once and it stuck for some reason. Then it went through a couple different phases. Hamburgler turned into Turd Burgler. Then, somehow it just turned into Burger King. Don't ask me how or why. Burger King stuck for about 2 months until he couldn't take it anymore and he turned towards the bench from the ice and yelled: "I eat at the Burger King, I work at the Burger King... I OWN THE BURGER KING!!!!!". We all just kinda stared at him dumfounded. That was the end of it. Lol. He refused to shake some of our hands after we bounced them. He was seriously hurt by it all. Hehe.

He was packaged up with Chevy and shipped to Winnepeg for Essensa and, I think, Bautin. Both were a complete bust. Not sure about Sillinger.

Ya, 9 times out of 10 might be pushing it. Don't get me wrong, I love fighting in the NHL. And I agree, fighting will always be a tool. But I think the pure, protypical enforcer is slowly becoming extinct. They need a little skill to go along. Which I think is actually a good thing. What I wouldn't give to have another twilight Joey Kocur. That guy was PERFECT. Good work ethic, enough skill to contrubute and a jack hammer that could knock out most guys. He was, imo, the perfect grinder. Nobody wanted to f*** with Joey. Not even in the late 90's.
