I personally would trade off Homer for any one of the Ducks top four D-men for 5 minutes in a New York minute. Just sayin'.
-
In your opinion. The lack of any information whatsoever is just very frustrating to me. That's all.
-
Nobody said anything about confidential information. No need to blow things out of proportion to make a point. I don't remember asking for medical records to be posted online... do you? I'm just saying that this whole Draper/Rafalski thing is very covert and dark ops'ish. More so than any other injuries I can remember. I don't think expecting a little more solid information is an over the top request. And as far as you saying that the fans don't fund this team, that's garbage. How long would this team last with and empty arena and nobody buying any merchandise? That's like saying that Budwieser makes no money from beer drinkers because they hand their money to the bartender...

9 times out of 10 an enforcer (I assume this is what you mean, since anyone can be a fighter) playing regular shifts in the playoffs is more a symptom of lack of depth. Unless that enforcer has another facet or two to contribute. When compared to the need for defense, offense, goaltending, team toughness and grit, coaching and team discipline... dudes that can beat people up is behind all of those and probably a couple more I couldn't think of.

In my honest opinion, you people that are saying that this is good news in any way, shape or form are f***in sick. This a human that plays for the hockey team that you worship and he has to go into surgery for doing something to HELP YOUR TEAM. Try and set aside the will to win for one thread. For f***s sake. Sorry Mods...

Lame post. Would Perfectum, from your avatar say something like that?
-
I honestly don't get what the big secret about Rafalski and Draper is. I understand the need for a certain amount of secrecy, but this is kinda ridiculous. I might even go as far as to say that as fans, we deserve a little more information.

Being humbled by failure is a longer road, but he'll get there someday.
-
So basically the same line-up we saw yesterday minus Kopy plus Abdblahblah. I can think of worse scenarios.
-
Luckily, none of that stuff matters. Kopy is already on record saying that he didn't know he was a lefty. That's ******* hilarious. I guarantee you that Red Wing cliques are converging and laughing their asses off about that. That's classic.
-
And to those who say "But he got his ass kicked. It was pathetic. It was an embarrassment." It doesn't matter. At the very least, the rest of the team will rib him and get a good laugh out of it (assuming he isn't seriously hurt). Things like that loosen a team up and get them together. Now, if he is seriously injured. It still works towards chemistry. Maybe more so. Then the "Lets do it for Kopy" mentality kicks in. No matter how you slice it, Kopy helped our team. He found a way to contribute. Sounds corny, but I'm proud as hell of him.

I've played on many hockey teams in my day. Nothing super serious, but very competitive. On every team, there is at least one player that is obviously less talented and is under scrutiny. They know they don't bring as much to the table as the rest of the other guys. Those players know who they are. Kopecky is that guy. He knows he's that guy. His team mates know he's that guy. When a guy like that does what he did, it brings the team together a little bit more. They all appreciate his dedication and his willingness. That's what helps create chemistry.
-
Like I said... unless you are short sighted? Ever play hockey? Obviously not.
-
What Kopecky did is exactly what players on winning teams do. Far from pathetic unless you are short sighted.
-
I'm sorry for thinking that Flip and Hossa should be playing together.
-
Why? Because we don't coddle poor, hurt Duck fans? Get serious. How can we expect our team to raise the intensity when we're licking the wounds of poor abused Duck fans?
-
You're joking... right? I won't even bother to replay the dive he too when Holmstrom touched him.
-
I was pissed when Chelios came here. When Bertuzzi came here. When Ulf came here. To a much lesser extent, when Wendel Clark came here. Though my hatred for Wendy wasn't because he was dirty, just because he was an ex-Leaf. Still not a huge fan of Chelios after hearing all the crap he used to spew about the Wings to the media.
-
Well... it's true. Pronger is a very dirty player and has been known, on several different occasions, to attempt to injure another player. He's a piece a garbage. He was a piece of garbage BEFORE he intentionally stomped on a prone players leg with his skate. I can truly and honestly say that I would be embarrassed to be a Wings fan if he were on the team. That's the God's truth. Why are you coming here and whining about a poster on another board? What are we supposed to do? Pat you on the back and tell you we're sorry? Piss off.

A smiley or a "J/K" would have gone a long way in that post.

Wings Recall Abdelkader, Howard, Kindl, Leino, and Downey

To have them handy just in case. To give them a taste of what it takes to win in the playoffs. To inspire them to play their best so they can have the same chance some day. To give the roster players a kick in the ass. Lot's of reasons. -
The third period is, by far, the most likely time a stick challenge would come up. It's often used as a desperation move to try and get a 'free' power play. Some pretty famous names were notorious for using illegal sticks in the first two periods only to switch in the third or if they got spooked and caught someone eyeballin their stick. Unfortunately, I can't remember any of their names with certainty. For some reason I wanna say that Al MacGinnis(sp?) was known for it. But don't quote me on that.

On a sidenote. This is great timing for the black aces to show up. I'm assuming there is enough pride in that dressing room that none of them want to lose with the black aces watching. Sure it's a stretch, but I'll take any positive I can get right now. -
Wow... you're paranoid. Have you resorted to taking the guts out of your television and covering your windows in tin foil to keep 'big brother' from watching your every move yet?

They're here just in case someone gets hurt and to be exposed to as much playoff hockey as possible. Even if it's just observing. Every little bit of experience helps.
