There are so many more reasons than that as to why basketball pretty much sucks as a sport. The last 2 minutes of the game is thet one part I DO like about basketball. Not that I've never seen an exciting basketball game, but I never understood its huge popularity. If you've seen one basketball game, you've seen them all.

Gotta go with Crosby on this one. He beat us last year and I can't stand seeing that clip of him hoist the cup with his T-Rex sized smile. Its a respectful hate though... the kind of player you love to hate. Pronger you just plain hate. Going with Crosby on this one.... but to be honest there's a few other players out there I'm starting to hate more.

This. They showed it on the Kings feed.... some guy was waaay up in the rafters apparently having an argument with the security guys who were trying to get him down. It didn't delay the start of the third, but I wouldn't be happy to be one of those fans in that section who had to get cleared out. They never talked about it later on in the broadcast, so I dunno what happened.

I do support him and think he can and will play better eventually. The problem is, he is running out of time. He is pretty old for a rookie, and still has a lot of areas he needs to improve in. Yes he needs to work on his speed and strength, but if I recall correctly, last offseason he supposedly did nothing but leg, speed, and strength work. I hope the Wings keep him around and he finds his groove. I have a feeling that if we deal him or waive him, he'll suddenly end up a 20+ scorer somewhere, and we can't have that!

I like how around 1:10 the one kid tries to fight the ref. Man, maybe I'm just getting old, but I remember when I was about that age we had a couple of benchclearers... sure felt like ours were a bit noisier though. This other time, when I was 8, our team won the season Cup, so we all piled on our goalie in celebration. Unfortunately he fractured his wrist in all the commotion and we missed the playoffs the next season. Stay away from drugs children.

Dont have time to read every page but... Osgood blaming Babcock for allowing those goals is just silly. The second and third goals were incredibly weak, routine saves for an NHL goaltender, even one who is not in his groove. I love Osgood, but its ridiculous for him to make excuses for those goals, and divert the blame. While I agree that he should have been playing more this season, you don't whine about it in the media... you actually make the saves when you get the ice time. He didn't do that. He is electing to go to the media and claim that he knows better than coach, rather than actually showing up and making the saves. If he had made some saves, Babs would give him more starts. Its not that difficult. He is a veteran Stanley Cup winning NHL goaltender and should know this. At points in his career the role was reversed, where he took over for the struggling veteran, so this is nothing new. There are so many other ways to for Osgood to handle this situation, going to the media is childish.

Does this include his time as assistant coach? I recall him needing to forfeit his roster spot in the World Juniors to make room for Adam Banks as he was recalled off of injured reserve. I think there is a strong case to be made here... Holmstrom is good, don't get me wrong, but Conway had a huge impact on his team as whole... leadership, triple-dekes, coaching, Bombay dating his mom, etc.

Its too bad too because I think he still has 1 or 2 more years of NHL play left in him... just not with this team. I don't see him playing anywhere else, so I think this year will be his last. As noted, the wings have a lot of youngsters to fill that role, and we'll also have a lot more cap space to work with to sign a few players, or one big one. I'll miss him, he has always been one of my favorite Wings, I'd love to see him stick with the organization in some capacity. At the same time, if Kenny signed him for a one year minimum I would have no problem with it. The Wings have a lot of decisions to make this off season, it will be interesting.

Ozzie made some huge saves the last time he played against the Caps. Big game for him, big game for the Wings. Need to get some goals early.

This preseason I was happy with the Bert signing and appalled by the Eaves signing. Once again Kenny shows that he knows more than I do. I knew nothing about Eaves going into this season (other than the two videos on YouTube of him getting absolutely destroyed in hits, Kopecky style). Bert is doing exactly what he was expected to do, even if it took him a while to get going. Eaves on the other hand has smashed all expectations; defensively, checking, even on offense. I think if Williams stayed healthy he would also be living up to expectations, but not more. Miller has been a pleasant surprise, and I like May as well. Gotta give it to Eaves, with Bert a close second.

I understand what you mean to an extent, but nobody, NOBODY is dumb enough to not know that this kind of hit is wrong. I think its more a matter of teaching him to control his emotions on the ice (though I don't think he should be given another chance). To me, this is a criminal offense. This goes beyond anything that should ever be seen in hockey, and is more than just a 'heat of the moment' thing. I know it wont happen but I think this guy should see a jail cell for this... for however long. Its a huge detriment to the game and needs to stop. It kind of baffles me that head shots are getting sooo much attention in the hockey world, yet they seem to increase in frequency. Its almost as though the extra attention towards head shots has given certain players the idea that its OK, a 15 minutes of fame sort of thing. Afterall, what repercussions are there? The thing is, the NHL has to lead by example. If they were to instill a no-tolerance policy, than I believe other leagues would follow. In this case I don't think this guy should ever be allowed on or near the ice again. Best of luck to Tam, I hope he can get back on the ice some day. Amazing to think that you dedicate your life to a game that you love, you are this close to achieving your wildest dreams... and some goon does something like this for no apparent reason.

'Most other clubs' also haven't had the sustained success that the wings have. The reason the Wings have been so good for so long is their uncanny knack for player development.

I take it he is definitely not playing in the Olympics? That break is going to be so crucial for us.

I love Osgood but... do you think we would have gotten a point today if he was in? Would we have gotten one yesterday? Babcock is smarter than all of us, which is why he is coach. Jimmy Howard is playing great, and Babs has made it abundantly clear that the hot goalie will play. Afterall these are "must win" games, as everyone has been saying, we really don't have the leeway to put Ozzie in and 'hope' that he has a rare good game and gets hot. As per the the shootout order, everytime we get to SO it makes me cringe because i know we only have 2 to 2.5 good shooters. Now, if they rated each attempt on finesse and difficulty, we'd win every time.

Campbell is a pandering joke. If they actually fined/suspended people for a history of diving... Crosby would only play about 4 games a season. It gets harder and harder to support this league. I'm so tired of these excuses and outright lies by the league management. It is pathetic and cowardly and speaks volumes about the intentions of this league.
