The NHL has expressed no interest in having Canadian teams in the Winter Classic because of NBC. Pretty sad if you ask me.

I like the Winter Classic on New Year's Day. But I agree that today could be a much better day for sports.

Yeah, yeah, we get it.... you are tougher than any player on the Wings, and any player in the NHL for that matter. And having experienced SOME degree of separation does NOT make you an expert on all shoulder injuries to every person... as already pointed out the cases vary significantly between person to person, so as much as you think that you are omni-knowledgeable here, you really do not have much of a frame of reference. The flu? I'll agree it's a little soft... but have you ever gotten the flu before? I have, and sometimes you literally cannot move, wake up, or get out of bed.

Also, the game play and time on field is completely different in football. As the clock is running throughout the game, the average time of ACTUAL football being played is between 12 and 12.5 minutes a game. Compare that to hockey where a full 60 minutes is played every game. A football team only about plays 200 minutes of actual football a season, whereas a hockey team plays 4920 minutes a season. Pretty big difference there. No, football players are not tougher.

Didn't Rafalski JUST have the flu a couple of weeks ago? I'm no doctor, but isn't there a vaccine for the common flu that when taken PREVENTS THE PERSON FROM GETTING IT?! Might it be a good investment to look into this? This is getting ridiculous.

I agree, thru-the-leg shots really aren't that hard to do, and they can also be LASERs because of the weird leverage you get. Datsyuk's is amazing because of what he causes the goalie to do. If the fake is not effective, Datsyuk ends up looking like an idiot who doesnt get a real shot off. Ribiero's is lucky as hell, but still really cool how long that puck was in the air. Nash's is pretty funny. I liked the subtlety of Getzlaf's.

Definately want to see the Sharks beat up the Hawks as much as possible. Also dont want vancouver to win tonight.

I'm confused at how you think allowing ads on jerseys would change the cap whatsoever.

Jerseys are too rich of a tradition in hockey. There are also waaaay too many ads as it is. I picture goalie helmets turning into the hood of a nascar car.

D-mac did a good job. He's still a little awkward at first, but once he loosens up he does fine. I think the other dudes are afraid of him.

That debate is actually pretty interesting.... And I'm really not sure who I'd choose. Hudler required people to set him up as well as I remember. I will say this: I recall Hudler getting nearly ALL of his goals on the PP, not the case with Bert. I don't recall too many 'Hudler gamechanger' moments, but with Bert, he has had a few this season... might just be a case of selective memory though. Hudler did not have an elite few years like Bert did, even though I fully acknowledge Bert no longer has many of these skills. We know Bert has/had the skills of an elite goal scorer, yet Hudler has never shown this ability.
