Might I suggest.... Helm?

I think Bert was expected to go to the net and score some goals, seems that's how most of his went in last year. Unfortunately, this is not at all what he's doing now. The chances he does get come from down low. I cannot even begin to express how excited I am to get Fil back. Not to score from the slot, but he will give this team a ton of life. Franzen is our slot scorer, and it'll be a while before he comes back sadly.

I seem to recall LA getting a lot of hype at the end of last season and going into this one, I'm not terribly surprised to see them where they are after their start. I think of those teams LA has the best chance to squeek into one of the last spots. Goaltending is their issue right now.

It gets old when the other 10% are people wasting the time to make threads like this; bitching about people bitching. I don't think people are whining nearly as much as you think they are, you are generalizing the comments of a few posters who have expressed their discontent, why does it bother you so? I haven't been one to complain much this season, the Wings are about where most people thought they'd be, especially considering the injuries. BTW the Wings have a ONE game winning streak. It is hardly time to make a thread like this bashing all the people who have shown some concern (especially when there are like 3 or 4 of these threads every week).

Yzerman needs a look for a leadership/captaincy award. I'm not sure how I feel about changing it. It seems like just an attempt to make the trophy awards more relevant for newer fans by giving them familiar names for association. I prefer history and tradition personally. Maybe add a couple categories and utilize those players mentioned.

Yup... we've seen this before. Lets just hope he comes around in the playoffs again. Howard or Conklin?

I haven't seen much bashing, mostly praise. He is doing slightly better than I expected him to, and he is right about where I realistically wanted him to be. He still needs work on his positioning and his ability to control rebounds. There was also that awful game the other night where he let in a ton of softies, mostly from his own players. Again, I haven't seen much Jimmy bashing lately, but comparing him to Osgood is moot at this point because I don't think ANYone here has been praising Osgood for his play.

Osgood needs a big game here. Just get me a win and I'll be happy!

While I thought the ceremony dragged on for a bit, it was really good overall and showed the true history of hockey and that great franchise. I thought it was a little weird that they used that hare krishna song for the rememberence slideshow but... hey I'm not french-Canadian. The game was a pretty good one as well, the habs played with a ton of energy and the crowd was really into it. Fun one to watch. On a side note, I also enjoyed watching the hawks lose to Nashville.

I'm watching it. Glad to see Gordie and Scotty there.

Lol my thoughts exactly. Those are cool though, I'm getting more excited for these games, could be a great couple of weeks of hockey.

This is my concern as well. Lidstrom has always produced points, but to me these always seemed like just a great bonus to his game, but not something I expect or rely on. However, I DO rely on his defensive abilities, and his 'rare mistakes' have gotten more frequent this season. He has slowed down, etc... but am I worried? No. He is still the best defensemen in the league, and is also our captain. He is performing his duties very well considering the ice time hes getting and the injuries we have.

Kindl on first PP? Wow. Best of luck to him! From what I've seen/heard, their backup goalie is awful.

Good luck Shanny! I hope they really listen to you and your ideas, and they didnt just hire you to 'have a face' up there. Good job by the NHL, now make us proud Shanny!

Haha no... I was addressing everything else actually. I'm not sure where you got this whole Columbus thing from, but nobody ever implied that, so give it up. Go back and read your own post if you must. If you don't see the idiocy therein, well, I'm afraid I can't help you. Nobody here is sure why you are still posting. As others have noted, if you bring some intelligent hockey discussion to the threads, than that is fine... otherwise, pursue other forums, please.

The profoundness of the stupidity in this post amazes me. You represent the Hawks and their fans sooo accurately. Young and stupid.

The last thing this league needs is more teams. There are a handful of teams that would benefit in the long run from relocation, however that is a long an expensive gamble, and while I can think of a couple of teams who SHOULD be moved to Canada, it wont happen. Adding more teams would require a complete shakeup of the divisions/conferences, which I don't see as being beneficial to hockey. I reaaaally hope this doesn't happen. The league has a myriad of problems at the moment, I don't see how more teams would help this. I think the NHL missed a pretty great opportunity this past off-season to move a team to Canada.

The wings have a much better chance of getting him next year than the hawks have of keeping him. There's a ton of buzz surrounding this kid right now (some of that I attribute to the overall buzz around Chicago) but I think the Wings system would do wonders for his development. Probably wont happen, but who knows. Gonna be fun to see where all these players will go, it almost feels like one of those team liquidations where they divy out all the players to the remaining 29 teams. I see the numbers and everything, but I still don't see how this works. Even if they move Huet or Campbell, fill their roster holes with minimum wage AHLers, wont they STILL be over the cap? I'm not sure how happy I would be about any of these contracts, especially Kieth's, I don't care if its a good deal or not.... 13 years is simply too much. Keep in mind, Chicago was ecstatic a year ago when they signed Campbell, now theyre stuck with his mediocrity and contract.

I think Leino will work better with Dastyuk than Bert did, but still not wild about it. It'd be nice if we had at least ONE complete line to play with. Looking forward to see what Kindl can do, however they're not gonna give him enough time to earn a spot this year. Wouldn't mind him as a replacement for Lebda.
