Personally, i thought ville has been playing decent. There are plenty of guys I would bench over him. I just worry, with so many injuries, can we really afford this? Also, does someone else get a chance to play in the NHL for this game?

I think the hit was kinda dirty, probably not intentional but if you are gonna put everything into a hit like that, you cant touch the head. To Rivaled who keeps saying that its 'too early in the season' for hits like this.... That is the most intellectually bankrupt statement ever. Hitting is not seasonal. I can understand the argument for a preseason game, but once the season begins, hits are fair game. Also you call it a 'dirty hit'. So by your logic... later in the season is an appropriate time for dirty hits? But now? You have yet to explain yourself on this flawed logic of hitting only be allowed in the latter months of the season.

could there possibly be a rule implemented where the whistle doesnt blow for a fight during a scoring chance? I understand most cases where the whistle blows, but the fight was happening well out of the play where there was a breakaway and a wide open follow up man. When the net is knocked off its moorings, its not an auto whistle, only if it happens close to the play, would it be possible to see something similar with a fighting situation like this? I agree with others, shame that they went after him for a clean hit and the play stops.

Reminds me of my days playing Squirt. It was one of those holiday break tournements, and half my team didn't show up, including the goalie. Coach (dad) made me suit up for goal (borrowing the OTHER team's backup's pads). We lost that game by 17 goals. Point being: I still could have made THAT save.

Welcome back Helm! I didn't think I would say this but I am happy with the way Draper, Maltby, and Eaves have all been playing. I think the competition will be good for all of them, and good for the team.

Agreed. These lines are great. The wings played well on saturday, and they were all responsible defensively. The wings have five fairly weak matchups coming up next, I expect some big wins.

Even when he was playing for us in his prime, there were problems. It was a looong time ago, but didnt federov miss a big chunk of a season in 96 or 97 because of some contract dispute where he wanted more money? As much as i love 96, 33, and 18, i dont think they should be retired. I like how elite the retirees are, and it should be kept that way. I could see the argument for osgood

I like the euro twins being back together for this matchup, i really hope they have some chemistry. I do not like scratching maltby. While I'm all for giving eaves the chance eventually, i think they should let maltby continue to play, as he has lookekd good so far imo.

I think its a shame players and coaches arent allowed to say what they think. I understand having some guidelines for censorship, but I have read those comments from Quinn several times now and I cannot for the life of me understand what is wrong with it. 10,000 dollars? Its sad but the NHL probably gets more revenue out of fining coaches and players than they do for Coyotes games.

Even after the game when all the players went over to congratulate ozzie, Mule was one of them, skating like normal. Doesnt an ACL tear basically mean you can't walk at all? yes my NHL network does that all the time, but its something ive just been able to deal with, it never freezes up for more than a few seconds (yet somehow seems to do it during the best times, like breakaways). I also assumed it was my cable provider, because it happens with some other channels as well.

I was definately upset when they signed him. Especially when they signed bertuzzi, the Williams deal just seemed like it shouldnt have happened. After seeing him in the preseason and the first few games, I am happy to admit that I was wrong about my doubts. I'm impressed with his speed, but most impressed with his stick handling ability.

I like May in the lineup, but I hope they keep maltby in over eaves. Right now he is our team leader in offense, and until he proves otherwise, let him play. GO WINGS!

that wasnt very smart at all. Not only did he hit the player high AFTER he had already been hit and long lost the puck, but the way he followed through on the hit by taking him down was just foolish.

i love helm but... i do not see him being a first liner with pav and mule. The idea of the Pav-Z-Bert line sounds like it could be fun. I think babs will probably stick with what hes got for a while. Its only 2 games, and its not like the wings didnt score goals in those games. Im more concerned about goalies and D at the moment.
