I dont understand all the panic from a lot of people. i think our chances for a cup this year are just as good as the past 3 seasons. I also think we have a very good chance at finishing the season at the top of WC and possibly get the pres trophy. The roster this year will take some pressure off our top forwards which will (hopefully) lead to more production. Im not wild about any of our 3 new signings, but as everyone has already pointed out, its only for one year, and there is a strong backup plan in place in grand rapids. Kenny did the best he could with the money/needs we had, i might have gone a different route, but im happy with the upcoming season.

its not that i mind bertuzzi, i think its a good signing at that price but im a bit sad cause i believe this means we wont have Lilja for most or all of next season.

its been a while since anything new has been posted about this. Does anyone know anything yet? Im still just astounded that there hasnt been any word from Kane yet. I understand a few days of silence, but this is ridiculous. It certainly doesnt seem to indicate his innocence either.

pretty baffled that people still think chicago improved a whole lot. Not even speaking of the numerous ;legal distractions and problems they created for themselves... They got rid of their best offensive player Havlat (77 points) and signed a MARGINALLY (debateable) better player in Hossa (71 points). Oh yeah and good job giving him a physical exam... oops, now hes out for nearly half the season. They lost their all-star goalie (imo one of the main reasons they did as well as they did last season...) Now their starting goalie is Huet LOL. No improvements to their D, still have campbells absurd contract to wait out. Additionally, saying that seabrook and keith are the best defensive core in the leage is a complete laugh. They are hardly the best defensive core in chicago, let alone the league. You took our absolute worst player from us and paid him about three times what he is worth. THANK YOU CHICAGO. Good luck next offseason after you lose in the first or second round and are now faced with a pile of bigtime UFAs who dont want to play for a team that is a perrenial loser. i would mind this purely because it would mean more games on tv (i think). My concern would be that ESPN would ESPNize hockey, change it the way they changed MNF. Random celebrity guests who have nothing to do with the sport promoting their latest CD or clothing line, etc. Also I fear for who the announcers would be, apart from melrose there is nobody there who knows anything about hockey. I loved when hockey was on ESPN back in the day, but those days are looong gone.

Before you were defending kane on the license that he is innocent until proven guilty, not all the facts are here, etc, which is an understandable stance... But now... you are defending what kane is accused of doing. You are defending him beating up an old man over 20 cents. i agree with innocent until proven guilty and all... but the fact that the kanes STILL have not commented seems to indicate guilt, IMO. Usually when there IS some other detail in a case like this, the accused would make every effort to release a statement "i intend to fight these accusations, im not that type of person, etc." The silence for over a day doesnt look good on Kane's part. Unless the cab driver is completely 100% lying, there is no real way i see Kane coming out of this looking good. So dont get on people for 'jumping to conclusions', as this isnt only from the cab driver, there have also been statements by the police confirming the incident as well. Its hard to judge both sides of the story, when one side is declining to comment on the issue.
