i wouldnt have expected this from kane. I look forward to hearing a statement from him/hawks. What an entertaining offseason this has been. Every week something new and hilarious from these guys. At this rate i feel like the hawks organization will have folded/moved to cancun for expansion by the time the season starts.

im pretty sure that the hawks priority is toews and kieth. Both of them are far more valuable to their team in the long run than kane. Kane is great on offense, but he lacks what the hawks need in the long run. My guess will be that the hawks will re-sign teows at ALL costs, then try to squeeze in kieth, and let Kane go. There are lots of teams that could use the likes of kane, i could easily see him going to buffalo, his hometown, a rebuilding team, etc. Hopefully though, they are more screwed than i give them credit for and they lose 2/3 of those guys. Oops.

man... i think talbot sleeps in there. I finally got nhl network a month ago and was all excited cause ive always wanted it. But i cant even watch it now cause literally EVERY commercial break they play the penguins championship DVD commercial and i have to watch that large-mouthed ass skate around with our cup. Its gonna be a long year.

holmer will start off next season with a bang. As others have mentioned he will likely have limited production later on in the season, but he is still an integral part of the team. He always ties up at least one D man fin front of the net, is great at screening and getting to players. He creates space near the goal and he also scores. He had a bad playoffs, so what... he wasnt the only one. Im not sure hes top-line worthy, but id be definately willing to give the ZDH line a chance to do some damage again. Im happy with the team next year. I did want a bigger signing than eaves, but always knew the guys i wanted werent gonna work out. Id be happy with prospal, and for that matter a few other players. At this point theres really no one that we could get that everyone here would be happy about.

good lord i hope not. Its not even like the predicted lines mean anything, lines get changed around all the time, especially at the beginning of the season. The best one ive heard today was Eaves-Dats-Cleary as the first line... seriously, someone mentioned that.

my guess will be that he gets injured in his first ten games on some completely tame hit. search Youtube for Patrick Eaves and watch his player profile vid.... he gets injured on the weakest hit. Man up patrick.

you could sign ME for the league minimum... but that wouldnt make it a good signing. Just because a guy is dirt cheap doesnt make it a good deal. Hopefully il be eating those words in a few months but i dunno. The word 'potential' always scares me, cause it doesnt actually mean anything yet.

I watched most rangers games last year and i always really liked what zherdev was doing on the ice. He is a really hard skater and goes to the net with creativity. He is also fairly tough for a euro player, and wont let people push him around. People question his work ethic, but honestly i blame that on the NYR organization as much as anything else. To me, nearly ALL rangers players have work ethic problems, that team in general is just plain lazy. Look at their rosters the past few years... on paper they look incredible, but when it comes down to it they can never get it done. Dunno if its coaching, leadership, injuries or what. Put him in a wings jersey and i would be willing to bet on improved production and work ethic. If we could somehow manage to sign him along with another cheap defense-minded forward (1203912129 have been mentioned already) i would be pretty pleased.

im pretty sure there WERE no hawks fans when wirtz in the office. That entire fan base has existed for less than 15 months.

it is unfortunate that dipietro is always hurt, cause i did at some point actually want to see him play. I'll never forget how Milbury traded luongo to sign dipietro out of the draft, lol. And then they signed him to the most absurd contract in sports history. Sigh, poor islanders. Biron-roloson is a good combo though for them, its a shame they are also stuck with dipietro until the end of time.

i know this was said about filp last year, but i expect this to be a breakout year for him. The comparison has been made (albeit somewhat unfairly) to datsyuk's early days with the wings in terms of timidity of shooting the puck, etc. With a lot more room on our bench, and elevated ice time, i'd like to think this season will be one where filp can really establish himself as an offensive threat. The wings need certain players to take the next step in their game, and i expect a lot from players like filp, helm, and ericcson, and i am particular excited to see the evoltuion of the latter two.
